Lots of Wade haters on this site and people who have doubted him since he was drafted. Dude simply has been the best SG since MJ; Yes, he is better than Kobe as an all-around player. His leadership, defense, and desire to win has never been questioned. Kobe had shaq for his first championship era and then  PAU, BYNUM (who was actually movitated and wanted to win), ariza for a certain amount of time, artest (hit a big shot in the finals in 2010), Odom, fisher, etc. He also had a hell of a HOF coach in Phil Jackson.

Here’s for all the fans of Wade. If you don’t want to appreciate Wade, leave this topic because it’s not for you. It’s for Wade fans that have been loyal to him since the beginning and want nothing but the best for him. Wade had Pat Riley as a coach for his first championship run. Wade did not have a prime shaq in his first championship run though. He had a post-prime Shaq. He also had many role players past their primes. You cannot argue that 2006 heat would beat the 2000s lakers simply because the Lakers had way more talent.

Here you go Wade fans. I know I’m not alone on this site.

There will be those that argued Wade would not have more rings without LeBron. You’re right. Lots of things did not pan out in Wade’s career. Wade and Shaq got hurt for a big chunk of the the 06-07 season. Had they been healthy, they could have possibly made it back to the finals to contend. Would they have beat the Spurs in 2007? Probably not. That team was great.

What’s totally biased is how Kobe’s hype has propelled him to greatness despite him being a great individual. That’s the point though. Kobe is not a great team player. He was so lucky to have the most dominant force inside the paint in NBA history. A force that was even stronger than Wilt. Kobe’s finals performance in 2002 is worth talking about though. Was it as good as Wade’s in 2006? NO. Was it as good as Wade’s performance in 2011? F-ck no. 2004 was an example of how Kobe can take your team out of a finals. The Lakers in 2010 finals almost lost the series. Kobe was 6/24 and they benefited from Artest’s big 3 in one game and Pau’s Superstar performance. Even the most hardcore lakers fans know Kobe cost the Lakers in 2004. Pistons forced the Kobe to shoot the lakers out of the finals.

     – This has never happened to Dwyane Wade. The Mavericks played great zone defense forced LeBron to be irrelevant. The Spurs in 2013 failed to make LeBron a shoot-first player and they also failed to defend Ray Allen in game 6. – In 2014, Spurs made LeBron a shoot-first player and that’s ½ the reason the Heat lost. The other half was making Wade/Bosh inefficient. The Spurs were simply the better team. I wish Wade and Bosh were more effective, but even people on this site will not fault Spoelstra for too much iso-plays.

Wade never took a team to the Finals without Shaq or Lebron. The 34 win Lakers somehow proof that Kobe can’t lead a team without another star, and you have the 15 win Miami Heat of 07-08. Neither player has had great success without another big name.

Wade and Kobe’s career playoff stats are SHOCKINGLY similar, and you completely again, omit Kobe’s 29.4 ppg 7.3 rpg 6.1 apg performance in the 00-01 playoffs. Wade never had those kind of numbers in any of his championship runs.

There is an aruement in here somewhere, but you just sound like someone who loves Wade and hates Kobe.

Wade’s never had statistics like that? Are you the one without facts and bias against Dwyane Wade?

        2006 finals stats: 34.7ppg, 7.8rb, 3.8assist, 2.67steals, 1bpg, fg=47%. Kobe never had those stats in a finals.

Nice try buddy. Kobe can dream to have finals stats like those.

During a championship run, througout the entire playoffs. He hasn’t.

Kobe doesn’t have to dream. He has the 08-09 Finals – 32.4 ppg 5.6 rpg 7.4 apg 1.4 spg 1.4 bpg

          09-10 Finals weren’t too shabby either – 28.6 ppg 8 rpg 4.1 apg 2.1 spg .7 bpg

I’m not particuarly passionate about either player, but this isn’t some open shut case, where Kobe is some sort of bum and Wade consistantly proved himself better. Again, their career stats, playoffs included are very close, and Kobe has had a more fortunate history regards to injury.

Like I said, there is a legit arguement in here somewhere, I think they’re probably pretty similar on some sort of all time list, but

Comparing the 15 win heat to the Lakers without Shaq is apples and oranges. Kobe had butler, odom, and bynum for one of the years he had a 3-1 lead in the playoffs that he choked away. 07-08, Edit: Wade was injured for 31 games and Shaq had a big injury that year.

*in 08-09, Wade’s best players were Chalmers, beasely, and marion for 2-3 months.

Give Wade the help Kobe had between 07-2011 and he wins every single year because of his leadership, unselfishness, and desire to win. You’re the one that’s being anti-wade with some silly bs you let fly out there.

09-10 playoff stats – (still without the help Kobe had and he was playing that dominant celtics team)

        33.2ppg, 5.6rpg, 6.8apg, 1.6bpg, 1.6spg, 56%fg.

05-06 playoff stats, third year player….

        28.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 5.7rpg, 2.2spg, 1.1bpg, fg = 50%.

09-10 playoff stats – (Kobe beat that dominant Celtics team in the Finals in a knock down drag out 7 game series)

          29.2 ppg 6 rpg 5.5 apg 1.3 spg .7 bpg – 46% FG

          05-06 playoff stats

          27.9 ppg 6.3 rpg 5.1 apg 1.1 spg .4 bpg – 50% FG

          OR

Wade’s 3rd year he was 24 years old. Kobe’s playoff run at age 24 he put up…

          32.1 ppg 5.1 rpg 5.1 apg 1.2 bpg .1 bpg – 43% FG 40% 3 PT

They’re pretty give and take. Anyone who has seen them both knows that Wade was a better slasher, Kobe a better shooter. They got their points in different ways, and it’s a fair arguement that Wade’s failure to really develop his jumper is the reason he’s gotten banged up so much in his early 30’s.

"A force that was even stronger than wilt"??? Obviously you have no clue how strong and dominant Wilt was.  I get that your thread was to praise Wade for what he has accomplished….but it essentially turned into a Kobe bash session.

I will miss the NBA without Wade, Duncan, Dirk, KG, Ray allen, Pierce, ginobli, etc. Hell, I’ll even miss Kobe simply because I won’t have a player to call out for being overhyped due to his inefficiencies.

We’re about to enter into an Era that’s lead by LeBron, Durant, Paul, Rose, Howard, AD, Harden, Westbrook, etc. I don’t know how to handle it honestly. You can tell me all you want that that is still an exciting lineup to watch, but really, most of the players close to retirement have earned their spots for HOF. I don’t look forward to the future of the NBA as it does not seem exciting. I hope I’m not alone in feeling the way I do

I want to end with that I feel like Wade gets no respect in general. People on this site list him as maybe even a POSSIBLE top 10 sg of all time. We’re talking about a guy that single handedly brought a team back in the finals that was down 0-2 and won 4 straight. He won a final’s mvp with shaq on his team and shaq averaged a pathetic 13-9 in the finals against a team he should have absolutely dominated despite being past his prime.

Next, LeBron was pathetic in 2011. I would say he was worse in 2011 than he was in any of his years as a Cavalier. It bothers me that no one respects Wade for even SACRIFICING his city and control of the team to LeBron. Do you know how hard that is for a superstar to do? Hell, Magic said to Wade’s face that Wade is the most unselfish superstar of all time. And Magic was practically the most unselfish winner ever. Why is it that Wade is struggling to be recognized on this site? Why do you people keep your bias alive and well and not recognize that you witnessed the best SG since Jordan?

Give Wade all of Kobe’s help his entire career…. especially in Wade’s prime before his knees started to go. Wade wins more than 5 rings and never gets blown out by 39 points in a finals game – game 6, 2008 (kobe/lakers.). Wade should have more than 5 rings, but he’ll never win another now that LeBron went back home. LeBron can thank much as Wade can thank LeBron for those 2 rings. Without a doubt in my mind, had LeBron stayed in Cleveland to begin with, he’d still be without a ring. Cheers Wade.

I would agree that he is undervalued and under ranked. Wade was/is a very special player and most likely a Top 5 Shooting Guard of all-time. It might be closer than most would like to admit but please don’t suggest that he is better than Kobe.

I dunno I think you’re way off the mark. I’m a huge DWade fan (heck Miami used to be my second favourite team until they added Bron and Bosh) and most of the time when top 10 All-Time lists come up on this forum people ALWAYS have Wade in the top 10. Usually they have him between spots #4 through #7. Personally I put him at #4 and I’ve always found out that most ppl agree with me.

Kobe was/is a more complete scorer, also Wade hasn’t had the long term production of Kobe. In Kobe’s 17th year in the league at the age of 34 he averaged 27.3 PPG, 5.6 RPG and 6 APG. Wade coming off his 11th year in the league is 32 but has already been in decline for a few years. With Lebron gone, Wade has the chance to be the man again and maybe he’ll rekindle his spark but with the wear and tear on his body and his style of play I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t
