    Who do you take?
Very different kind of bigs, one brings a package full of offensive talent while the other one is a big bodied banger.

Give me Isaiah Austin over Adams. Adams’ lack of production is enough for me to stay away from him till late 1st round to early 2nd round. Both players I would consider “boom-or-bust” type prospect, but I have to give Austin the edge due to much better production.

I wouldn’t even consider Austin a C. He’s got toothpick legs and no leverage at all. He’ll get pushed around by bigs which will force him to the perimeter.
    If I’m looking for a C I’d take Adams.
He’s got every physical tool you’d want from a C. Austin looks like he’s one misstep away from breaking in half.

    Normalized per 36 stats

    Adams: 12/10.6 3.4 blks a game on 57 FG%
    Austin: 15/9.7 1.9 blks on 46FG%

If stats are the determining factor, I’ll take the defense and rebounding over the inefficient scoring.

A 7fter that doesn’t like the paint or can’t play inside because his lack of strength, that favors shooting 3 pointers. So if your team is looking for a less athletic Byron Mullen or a thinner Spencer Hawes type of player, I suggest taking Isaiah Austin. I’m taking my chances with Steven Adams.

I think the only thing Isaiah Austin is missing is strength if he gets bigger I don’t think he will be scared to bang downlow likenow. If Isaiah was stronger who would you take between him and Steven Adams. A big who can step out jumpers and a pretty good handle for a big or a big man who moves like a robot and is just ll catch lobs unless he develops . Plus there have been a lot of skinny big man who have had success is the NBA

Neither are very good but I’d take Adams just because he’s a great athete and could end up being great on the defensive side of the ball. Austin will likely be mediocre on both offense and defense.

Austin is a thinner, less athletic version of perry jones III, and this thing with the 3s, I think he only does it because he weighs 210 lbs and even a 6’6 forward can push him out of the paint. Real talented 7 footers with a perimeter game to go with their height are rare to find (Dirk, Bargnani), so unless austin turns out to be a huge gym rat and transforms his body into a machine, only teams that have the room for some gambling should approach. If he banged on Adams in the post he would be taken off the game on a strecher, that’s for sure.
