Ghost01ParticipantClassic example of good character guys, good coaching, and depth making a team with no real superstar(Granger is a boarderline star, but its not like hes dominating games like a Durant or an LBJ) can become a solid playoff team.

B FreeParticipantI was thinking of making a post about them. I really like them they do show what good chemistry and teamwork can do. But they lack athleticism. I think if they could trade for Serge from OKC he would fit perfect beside Hibbert, with is raw abilitys pairing well with Roy’s polished offense. I know I would be willing to give up a first rounder for him.

sheltwon3ParticipantWhy would OKC give up Ibaka. Indiana does need a better power forward and they have pieces to make moves. They have Dunleavy, Lance Stephenson, George, Brandon Rush, Tj Ford expiring. They appear like they want to keep rush so that means Dunleavy and either George or Stephenson needs to go. You can only have so many swingman.

Ghost01ParticipantSerge seems like if he develops he can be a very legit NBA player.
Rush had a nice game tonight off the bench. They do need a 4 im not buying Josh McRoberts.

torontoraptors10ParticipantThey NEED to keep Brandon Rush at the guard position and Paul George at the forward position. They can get a PF via draft or free agency with all their expirings. Btw, Hibbert is really good!

B FreeParticipantHe is developing well but they need to give Westbrook a max contract plus extensions for Green and Harden (if he earns it) plus the money they gave to Collison and Sefolosa is becoming their lock down defender. If they could get a solid player and a pick its better then losing him as a free agent.

JJeff6ParticipantGranger Hibbert and Collison all are very good, Hibbert coming on real strong too!. Brandon Rush becoming a force off the bench. They need Posey to get his 3 on! And give Hansbrough a bigger role.

Tha_PrinceParticipantThey just crushed the Raps tonight, definitely has been a team that surprised me this year. Granger is playing like an All-Star, Hibbert is a candidate for MIP, and they really have a solid bench behind them. I agree with the PF upgrade but McRoberts and Hansbrough really know there roles and are willing to play hard D which I like to see.

B FreeParticipantI think they are ready to compete now and they can’t wait to draft a power forward and for him to develope. With Hansbroughs limted, well everything, and McRoberts being more of a role player I think they should look for a trade.

B FreeParticipantYou know who else might fit well with them is Jason Thompson on SAC who is probably available even though he won back is starting job, it might just be a showcasing ploy. He could come pretty cheap I think. I never understood how he lost his job very good rookie year great considering he came out of Rider, improved in almost every category in his second year and then loses his job in his third?

B FreeParticipantWhile I’m at it Indiana would be much better off if they knew how to draft. They are a terrible drafting team. Hindsight is 20/20 but last year for example, they have all star small forward and a lack of a legit power forward, George is a good player but he has the same skill set as Granger a "point forward", they had a handfull of options Ed Davis, Patrick Patterson, Larry Sanders, and my favorite Craig Brackins.

Ghost01ParticipantThey took Hansbrough in the lottery.
Enough said on the "terrible drafting" theory.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantgeorge is a good player but he plays the same position as their best player so the pick didnt make alot of sense

HitsterParticipantGeorge was a strange choice as he plays SF like Grainger and there were numerous PF/C options available at their draft position although they still had Troy Murphy then on a big deal along with Foster, Hansborough and McRoberts but as the two veterans were going into the last year of their deals and the two younger guys were not proven in the NBA then taking another combo frontcourter might have been a better choice.
The team struggled post the Detroit brawl when Miller retired, Artest imploded and JO had injury issues before being traded but the JO trade did get them Roy Hibbert and whilst they didn’t get a hig lottery pick they bumped along at around 30 to 35 wins for a few years until picking up this year.
Going forward they have a lot of contracts coming off the books this summer so could easily make a decent FA move perhaps at PF with maybe David West or Nene being options? Or they could look to do something with their expiring deals and a protected draft pick perhaps.

delfamParticipantDavid West would be a perfect fit for them as he still allows Hibbert to work in the lane. Do they do a sign and trade this year though or wait next year and sign him as a FA?

HitsterParticipantWith David West it will depend whether he opts out of his $7.25million player option for next season, unless the Hornets need to cut costs then I doubt he’s on the trading block this season as any move like that would probably have CP3 wanting out as well. David West turned 30 in the summer so his next contract could well be his last big pay day and whilst logic may say he opts out and assumes he will get a better deal in 2011 than he would being a year older in 2012 especially as he may well merit more than his player option next season. A lot could depend on what CP3 does in 2012, so West could opt in and keep his options open as if he resigned with the Hornets and then CP3 moved on the next year it may not be a good move.
If the Pacers wanted a shorter term PF then would Antwan Jamieson be an option? The Pacers have some nice expiring deals and if they were prepared to forego extra FA flexability in 2011 then Jamieson would give them veteran presence for a couple of years. My prefered option might be to send James Posey and Mike Dunleavy to Cleveland for Jamieson that way the Pacers retain some cap flexability for 2011 by moving Posey and Cleveland still get $9 million extra cap space with Jamieson off their books for next year.

delfamParticipantI don’t think Jamsion would be an upgrade over what they have right now to be honest. With his huge salary he’s only stunt the growth of McRoberts and Hansbrough.

NYK2010ParticipantWith OKC they have Sefolosha locked up for the next 4 yrs. Paying Harden is nothing to worry about, he hasn’t done much and doesn’t seem to be a star player. I’d be careful overpaying Jeff Green either he’s a PF who doesn’t rebound or block shots. Kristic is up after this year they might resign him not sure though.
Westbrook obviously is a max player, I’m sure he’ll get extended.
