BigDParticipantI think Philly has to trade him away pretty soon, and they probably know this. But are they asking too much for him? He has a pretty bad contract and teams won’t give up star talent for him, i think they should trade him more or less to free up Turner and Thad Young, rather then try to get a lot of talent back. Would any of these trades be suitable for the 76ers?

Obviously some picks would have to be thrown into the deals as well.

Da1potParticipantWith the recent injury to Butler, I find it hard to believe that Dallas isn’t going to try and get him….

royk927Participantrealistically the trade with milwalkee woundn’t happen as Philedephia has a lot of wings but no Bigs. But they could use reds shooting so it may work.
Out of all the trades the golden state would be realistic. He would fill a void but wright is not playing badly, and ellis and curry sort of compliment each other.
In La they have a young nucleus that they should develop having Iggy there would just take the ball out of Gordon and Griffens hands (which the clipps should not do.) And they have nice other prospects in bledsoe, Jordan and Aminu. The clips need another Big maybe Thabeet or Oden then look for veterans that will compliment the others

Mr. 19134ParticipantIggy would look like Vince Carter without a jump shot on the Warriors and that would be fun I would love to see him land there.
Dallas is another good look as he would fit in nicely with that system and give them that extra push. There should be no doubts Iggy is better then anybody on the Mavericks not named Dirk.
The Sixers have finally realized it’s time for Iggy to go. They have basically given Iggy off the next 5 games to see what Turner does.
Here is a fun stat for everybody who has been hating on Turner in the 7 games that Turner has played in without Iggy Turner has averaged over 13 points a game. The Sixers know this and really just started to realize it fully with Turner’s 23 point come out party against the Suns and his extremely impressive showing against Kobe and the Lakers.
Bottom Line: If Turner plays well these next 5 games Iggy is gone.

Mr. 19134ParticipantStanford you are right because I have already explored trading Iggy to Dallas because I would love to see him land their career opportunity wise but in terms of best net value Dallas has nothing that would interest the Sixers outside of Chandler but I doubt Dallas trades Chandler even tho they could with Haywood their too.

iguapops420ParticipantHe needs dealt to LA for Odom, Luke, Shannon, and picks. I’ll never put the pipe down until I’m informed Iggy has been shipped to the Lakeshow to be the 2011 Scottie Pippen.

TallmanNYCParticipantIggy with the Lakers would be awesome. Remember how good he was this Summer playing with the stars at the Worlds. Iggy is a great complimentray star (only in the NBA is there such a thing as a complimentary star, but we all know that there are types that fit that mold).

Da1potParticipantYeah your probably right…. Philly probably wouldn’t do a deal with Dallas unless its something like Beaubois/Chandler and Ajinca plus a first rounder. There is no way the Mavs would do that and Philly would probably try to get even more for Igoudala. However, the Mavs have made big deals @ the trade deadline for the last few seasons and been very active in trades so don’t sleep on them acquiring somebody- especially if Butler goes down.

JNixonParticipantThe 76ers would be retarded to take Brendan Haywood’s contract. Especially with Elton Brand already tied up like he is. They need toughness, but not at that cost. Not even close really.

Mr. 19134ParticipantYeah Haywood and first rounders that will be in the late 20’s would never work for Iggy and on top of that they would never throw Meeks into the deal who has shown a lot of potential as a defender and 3 Point Shooter off the bench. Meeks has had his moments this year.
The Sixers might come off Iggy if it was Chandler, Roddy, and Picks possibly tho.
Chandler gives the Sixers that defensive minded pivot and his contract is up at the end of the year at which point the Sixers might even want to look into resigning him if he plays well. Also the Mavs could of did a deal of Butler and picks for Iggy because Butler is in the last year of his contract, and is injury prone an 30 years old. Iggy is an instant and significant upgrade over Butler.
Over teams that make sense for Iggy is still to the Clippers for Kamen. I know Iggy wants to go to a winner but he wouldn’t mind at all going to L.A. to live in Hollywood, and reunite with Gordon and play with Blake. Eric Gordon, Iggy, and Blake would be nightmare of a team featuring freakish speed hops and strength.
The Blazers already offered Batum and Pryzbilla in a trade for Iggy the Sixers turned away. I wonder if they wouldn’t think about trading Oden for Iggy this way they’re not rebuilding and Miller, Roy, Iggy, Aldridge, and Camby would be a tough out in the playoffs.
If the Magic wanna get better defensively and free up more room for Arenas who they are paying an enormous amount of money to right now, and improve their ball movement and transition scoring they would be wise to offer J. Rich in a trade for Iggy. Nelson, Arenas, Iggy, Bass, and Howard with Hedo doing his "Odom" off the bench would be a very tough team to stop and make them an even more dynamic team. Plus the Magic should be thinking about it this way…who do you wanna have available to guard Wade, James, Kobe, Pierce, Manu, and other cold blooded wings from one of the teams they would have to beat to win the championship, Iguadola or Jason Richardson?

HitsterParticipantDallas would seem the best fit for Iggy with maybe Butler, Dominique Jones and Ajinca being sent or Butler, one of the two or a pick. That way Philly get a nice expiring deal and a pick and a young piece or a couple of young pieces. It depends if Philly really want cap space to try and reinvest or they want extra picks so Thorn, Stefanski and Coach Collins can remodel the roster. I wonder if one of the teams with an exception like the Cavs or Toronto might look at Iggy as they have future picks they could send and that way Philly rule out any chance of luxury tax this year.

Sonny RedParticipantI’d love to see Iggy on a good team where he wasn’t the focal point of the offense. I think he can shine in the right setting, his athleticism is very good, his outside shooting is average at best, but he has gotten better, and he’s even been hitting some three this year on a consistent basis. I don’t want to unload him for just an expiring contract though, this team needs players, a shooting guard, and big to be specific. Evan Turner has played slightly better without Iggy, but he doesn’t look like he will ever be a number one option on a team. His best game was against an awful defensive Suns team, last night he shot 2-14. He flat-out cannot shoot the rock, and he doesn’t have the athleticism to be a great finisher. He must become a better shooter this off season or he is going to have a terrible time trying to score in this league.

BigDParticipantThat’s what i reckon is the problem. Philly expects they can get a lot for him. What can you expect to get back for him. Title contenders aren’t going to give up their good players to get him. Philly should just accept the expiring contracts and 1 or 2 young players and maybe some picks and do that deal. Your not going to get much more then that.

HitsterParticipantIt’s generally agreed that Iggy needs to be on a contending team as a 2nd option or even a 3rd option. His salary is hefty and for that sort of money teams would probably be looking for a legit 2nd star to back up a franchise level guy.
As Big D says what Philly reckon he is worth tradewise and what other teams do are probably quite a way apart but looking at the ESPN trade calculator. I wondered if Dallas might be bold enough to take on both Iggy and Brand for Haywood, Stevenson, Butler and one of Ajinca,Barera,Beaubois, Jones and a pick. Dallas could even consider Terry or Marion as part of the deal instead of one of Haywood or Butler.
This way Philly clear both Iggy and Brand off the cap, they take on Haywood but his deal over the guaranteed years of his deal is only worth the same as Brand has on his for the next two years and reduces the amount of luxury tax they may pay this year. They get Haywood who gives them a legit defensive presence and he can play alongside Hawes, Speights or Brackins. They get expiring deals and some young pieces and picks thus allowing the team to be totally rebuilt.
Dallas do take on salaries but Mark Cuban has paid them in the past and the team’s window is closing so it may well be all in. Iggy gives them a legit 2nd scorer to Nowitzki and Brand can play around Nowitzki and Chandler allowing all 3 to watch their minutes. Dallas still keep Chandler and probably Terry who has an attractive partially guaranteed contract for 2011-12 allowing GM Donnie Nelson to still have trade options going forward.

HitsterParticipantMark Cuban has always been prepared to spend money and you can say what they will owe Brand over 2 and a half seasons isn’t much more than they will owe Haywood over his guaranteed years. Also with Kidd expiring in 2012, Terry having a partially guaranteed contract for next year and Chandler expiring then Dallas still have room to make some deals. Also as the likes of Brand reach the last year of their deals then they may be tradeable
Cuban will also know that the team is ageing and the window for the Dirk era is closing so to spend now may be worth the gamble especially if a lockout happens as for an ageing team this takes a year away from them potentially even if guys do play on an extra year. Dirk at 33 years old would surely be more effective than say a 36 or 37 year old Dirk. Cuban is also a business man and has an ego – he hosted WWE Raw in the last few years and got physically involved so success would help his profile and put value on the team. Extra luxury tax could be offset by sell out play off runs and the Mavs may have the option of playing some games at the Cowboy’s new stadium which held 108,000 plus for the All Star Game. They may not attract a crowd anywhere near that but could get crowds well in excess of the 19,000 odd their current arena holds especially for play off games and thus generate huge extra potential revenue.

iguapops420ParticipantOdom,Shannon,3banks, and Caracter. Odom has the rest of this year and next moreless on his 8 million contract then the following year he can be bought out for 2 million if the team chooses to do so. I should just put down my pipe and realize LA won’t ever deal Odom, especially not to a rebuilding team, too much respect.
