I’d have an IQ of 48, and I’d draft Jimmer Fredette #1 overall, and Shelvin Mack with the #20 pick.

I kid, I kid. But in all seriousness, what do the Wolves do with this draft? It’s seriously one of the weakest drafts I’ve ever seen. If they can’t get Kyrie Irving, I seriously think they should trade out of this draft- nothing’s worth it for them after Irving. I think they HAVE to find a way to get their pick back from the Clippers in next year’s draft. I don’t know how they do that, I don’t care if they have to give up Rubio or Irving (if they end up drafting him).

I think they need to clear up the logjam at SF/PF. The Wolves roster…5 or 6 guys that can play SF and PF. Beasley and Johnson (who also plays SG) are worth holding onto; Randolph, Webster, and Hayward are all expendable. They need to find a way to trade them to obtain veteran help, or get a true SG

I think they need to trade Jonny Flynn. I think he needs a new start somewhere else where he can be an athletic, push-the-tempo PG, and not run the Triangle. The real question is, what can they get for him?

I think they need to fire Kurt Rambis. He’s clearly not ready to be a head coach at this level. He’d be a great assistant, but he’s not cutting it for Minny. The Triangle offense just isn’t working- they don’t have the right personnel to run it. They’d be far more successful as an up-tempo, run and gun team. That said, I don’t know who they’d bring in to coach them- the coaching market’s pretty dry. Maybe Mike Brown, Adelman? I highly doubt Adelman would go there, but maybe Brown would be interested?

I think they should consider seeing what they could get for Kevin Love becuz i have a hard time believing he will re-sign with them.

Kahn is in love with Randolph, he tried to get him from GSW before he got shipped to New York. I believe Kahn thinks that Beasley will leave when his contract is done after this next season, and he would like Randolph to convert to SF in that case and be his replacement, or if Love doesn’t resign, then plug Randolph in there.

I do believe that they need to do their best to get that pick back from LAC, but the price may be too steep even if the Clips are willing to part with it. Possibly drafting Williams and packaging him with the rights to Rubio may be enough, but the Clips may want more than that. However, I don’t see Kahn parting with his golden boy Rubio.

Flynn’s stock is so low, im not sure if they can get anything really worth while to help the Wolves rebuilding process. If Rubio isn’t signed and we can’t get the pick back from the Clips, I say we should give Flynn one more chance and see if he can recover from his sophomore slump/injury before the trade deadline.

It’s evident that Rambis’ triangle offense is not going to work; but, Kahn has definitely bought into the system and I see him giving Rambis one more year to improve on it.

The Wolves definitely have another interesting offseason coming…

I think he signed a heft $70 million dollar extension to remain with the team. I think he accepted it from what I read. But I agree, a coaching change is long due for this team. Let Mike Brown coach and this team will actually try on defense. They are not a good defensive team but they do have some athletism which can allow them to get deflections or steals and get easy points.

And I also agree, Flynn is in the doghouse now and he needs to be moved. I’d say the Knicks, Bobcats, Blazers, and the Cavs would all be great spots for Johnny Flynn and maybe the Wolves can get a pick or a nice piece in return. I would love to see Flynn on one of those teams I mentioned.

That 5 year $70 million is what the Wolves are rumored to offer him this offseason, but it is not official and Love has not signed anything yet.

Kevin Love has been on a team which won 24 games in 2008/9, 15 games last season and 17 this so he has yet to turn his stats into anything that helps the team to win. Having said that the Thunder went 20-62 in 2007/08 and were 3-29 at the start of 2008/09 despite Kevin Durant putting up huge numbers and Z-Bo is suddenly leading Memphis on a play off run after putting up 20/10 on numerous losing teams.

The T-Wolves need to figure out how to make use of K-Love’s spectacular stats or maybe look to move him on, they have good individual players but they never seem to gel as a team.

I wonder if Coach Rambis might go back to the Lakers as an Assistant if Coach Jackson does retire and they promote someone in-house and Rambis fills the Assistant role left behind.

The key to their draft is Rubio, if he will come over then taking Irving would be strange though knowing how Kahn thinks he might trade Flynn and draft Irving to compete with Rubio.

Wesley Johnson was supposedly drafted to play perimeter defence as an SF but Mike Beasley fills that role, they could go smallball but Beasley and Love at 4 and 5 lack defence and we know Kahn loves Darko.

The team is a mess and have been so for maybe 6 years – the last KG seasons only gave them 32 to 35 wins and that was with KG at his peak so the decline has been longterm and how they break it, I just don’t know unless Rubio turns out to be superstar.

Find a Franchise Pg…Drafting Brandon Knight in the draft is the cheapest way to do it, this gives you the option to trade Rubio and Flynn for players or picks…If you want to get creative, a package of Rubio, Beasley and Draft pick may be sweet enough to get A star point guard

I think we need to keep David Kahn. If Kevin Love signs with us then Kurt Rambis should keep his job cause Kevin can honestly leave and be on a way better team. But, if Kevin Love doesnt accept that contract then yeah they made need to fire Rambis. And try to sign RICK ADELMAN. he might not sign but he might will. He has a bunch of young guys he can make into his prodigy. He has a SG who can knock down shoots. but needs to have a better ball handler. and plays somewhat of defense. but still is young. And a rebound machine in Kevin Love WHO CAN TOO KNOCK DOWN the 3pt shoot in the pick and roll. Also with us having Flynn he might change are style of offense in a high speed offense tempo cause of Flynn quickness we or he has the chance to run with Ricky Rubio. IDK bUT rICK SHOULD LIKE WE HAVE SOME OPTIONS. to make are team good. I didnt say Beasly cause he needs to go im deeply meaning it now he needs to leave the wolves.

But when it comes down to Beasly who doesnt really consider the post shot but the pull up jumper and is barely hitting only 19.5 ppg that is BUH in my book how ??? is he worth starting he was the 2nd pick in the draft . We have a better chance of taking Derrick Williams in this draft he can take Beasly position and Role of stardom. he has a quickness to get to the rim and SOMETHING YOU NEED TO HEAR  he takes good shots. Something beasly doesnt do. He cant play the four he is undersized for the 4. but he is 6’8 241 pounds. And a power finsher we need that to hype up are offense and if rubio come we will need Williams Beasly will never be catchin alley-loops. on a nightly basic.

Rick Adelman too may take Derrick Wiliams cause he is a big time competior on both sides of the court. Beasly sometimes get lost on defense. ( I say its the Gonga) lol. But Williams would be the first pick And it should be even if we dont firee Rambis. Williams is the better player. Beasly trys to do too much. And in Rambis triangle they look to pass the ball around to make a play for a bucket. With that being said Derrick Williams again doesnt take dumn shots like beasly pulls up from the long mid-range shot. Williams would look for the pass but he also has the talent to attack the basket with his inside quickness . and he has  great second chance bounce to catch his rebounds off  his misses.

is that the team is working on a buyout with Rambis, no word on who they want as the new coach, it won’t be any current assistants though.  Kahn, Ronzone, and Pete Philo are over in Spain watching a youth tourney, forget the exact name, but they will be speaking to Rubio sometime next week.  I believe it’s impossible under FIBA rules to sign Rubio while he’s still playing for Barcelona, but the word is is that if they don’t get some type of guarantee from Rubio that he will be here next season they will take Irving.  What kind of guarantee that is I do not know.  Who should they look at for coach?  I have to imagine it’s somebody that wants to play an uptempo offense with some good defensive assistants.  I think Mark Jackson and Elston Turner were in the final three in interviews for the Wolves job originally when Rambis was hired.

    – Convince Rubio to come next season, there’s no way the owners/league give up billions, I’m sure it will be a half season though.

    – Find a Starting Center, Darko isn’t it, as a backup he doesn’t look too bad, but they need an athletic, tough, rim protecting type next to Love, they’ll have to give up a ton of value and cap room, but maybe a younger vet like Andrew Bynum, Serge Ibaka, JaVale McGee, Nene, Marc Gasol, DeAndre Jordan, Roy Hibbert, or Marcin Gortat.  I’m sure most are untouchable, but I think the Wolves would be willing to give up some of their better assets in Beasley, Wesley, and this year’s pick for a good deal or two.  They could possibly look at a younger, high risk/high reward player like Greg Oden, Enes Kanter, Jonas Valanciunas, or the infamous Double B, aka Bismack Biyombo, I’ve never seen him play, but the word is a ton of scouts/execs including the Wolves are extremely high on him.  The rumor is the Wolves are doing a ton of "homework" on him.

    – If Rubio gives no indication that he wants to be in MN next season, pray you’re given the #1 pick to select Kyrie or trade a ton of value for a younger, more poised, defensive minded vet like Raymond Felton, Kyle Lowry, or Devin Harris, I can’t see them taking Knight or Walker, Knight because they feel they need an NBA-ready starting PG, that it will help facilitate more progress in their other players, Walker on the account that his game and physical stature appear to be somewhat like Flynn’s, something I’m sure Kahn will try to avoid like the plague, can’t imagine Flynn will ever play in a Wolves jersey again.

    – Find smart, defensive minded, tough, mentor type vets, I keep trying to think of guys that have already won championships, because I feel they would be more inclined to be that mentor type on a young team, maybe somebody that wants to get in coaching.  Names that come to mind, including some that haven’t won championships, are Raja Bell, Shane Battier, Tayshaun Prince, and Ben Wallace.

    – Collect more talent, face it folks, this team has one legitimate starter: Kevin Love, they do have some guys with talent/potential in Beasley, Randolph, and Wesley, but for the most part this team is comprised of Darko Milicic, Jonny Flynn, Nikola Pekovic, Anthony Tolliver, Lazar Hayward, Martell Webster, Wayne Ellington, and Luke Ridnour, they need to add more talent to the team.  I do believe Darko, Martell, Luke, and Tolliver stay because they all have the potential to be decent role players on a good team, but they will need to add a few more guys with starter potential.  What can they get for Jonny Flynn, Wayne Ellington, Lazar Hayward, Nikola Pekovic, their pick this year (1-4), and their later pick (20)?

    – Like I said above, find a coach that wants to play a simplified, uptempo offense, but has strong defensive assistants.

I like what WolvesFuture suggests about getting Ray Felton, the T-Wolves have assets that they could send to Denver so a deal there could surely be done. As regards the coaching situation there are several good coches currently out of work and a load of good assistants perhaps looking for the right job but with Houston looking for a new coach, the Lakers probably going to need one and perhaps one or two other changes likely, no-one will jump to the T-Wolves whilst they may land a better job.

A veteran coach would probably want to be on a stronger team and for every good Assistant who steps up, taking an unproven Head Coach is always a risk. If we assume that Rambis is gone then ideally they need an experienced Coach who is proven at developing a team. One name that sprung to mind was Mike Woodson who had a terrible couple of years at Atlanta to start with but took them to the play offs during his last two years and alongside him you find the best defensive assistant coach you can find, someone perhaps from the Spurs organization or even get Larry Brown in as a consultant.
