DipoTimeParticipantI may be biased as a Houston Rockets fan.. but does anybody else think this could work?
Orlando gets
PF Luis Scola
SG Kevin Martin
PG Jonny Flynn
F/C Jordan Hill
SF Terrence Williams
SF Chase Budinger
Houston gets
C Dwight Howard
SF Hedo Turkoglu
Before you all say "IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN" just think about it.. Orlando gets a mix of young talent and proven vets to potentially keep them in the playoff picture for the next few years. They also get rid of Turkoglu’s contract and they could even get a pick or two from Houston as well. Even though Houston would be giving up a lot they have 4 picks in this year’s draft and they have several young talented players already on the team.
ALSO
This trade does not have to go down like this. It could be Parsons instead of Budinger or Dragic instead of Flynn or whatever. If you don’t think this trade works then what do you guys think would potentially work for the Rockets to get Howard? So many people don’t think Houston is an option but they have all the assets and they clearly want to get a big star so why not

mikeyvthedonParticipantOrlando would be getting purgatory in a trade. They would be just good enough not to get better by staying in late lotto to mid first range. Houston well, I do not think Dwight would like this in the least. Kyle Lowry is a little warrior and all, Patrick Patterson is not bad, but is this really a much better situation than Orlando? So, sorry to say, do not think this will ever happen. Pipe dream, my friend.

DipoTimeParticipantNo I dont think it is a better situation than Orlando but hey if the guy wants out then Orlando will take the best trade offer than they can get. Just curious but if this is a no-go for you then where do u think he goes?

DipoTimeParticipantBTW I dont think any trade would be a MUCH better situation for Dwight than Orlando bc they will try to get everything in return. The Clippers got lucky landing CP3.. especially after everything the Knicks gave up for Melo I thought the Hornets would have gotten more in return. The fact that Dwight is THE best center in the league means that somebody is going to have to give up half a team just about lol

Mr. 19134ParticipantI May Be Biased would be an awesome username.
And the only way this trade works is if Houston can get Howard and clear cap space for next summer to sign Deron so in that case they might as well add Lowry to the trade which would also make it much better for the Magic. Also if I’m the Magic I’d want Marcus Morris too. But I don’t really like this idea for either side.

DipoTimeParticipantOk last try then I’ll drop it lol
What if Houston gets
C Dwight Howard
F Antawn Jamison
Orlando gets
PF Luis Scola
SG Kevin Martin
PG Kyle Lowry
SF Terrence Williams
Houston First Rounder and Second Rounder
Cleveland gets
C Hasheem Thabeet
SF Hedo Turkoglu
OK so Houston obviously gets their big man star in Howard, but they also get a HUGE expiring contract which would in turn give them the cap space to get a Deron Williams.
Orlando gets rid of Turkoglu’s contract, they get young talent with good vets with a couple decent picks in a good draft, and they get off better in this trade with lowry than the first one IMO
Cleveland gets a true small forward where as Jamison is more of a four, which allows Thompson to play more. Turkoglu isn’t horrible either he can create for others and shoot the 3 still. He is averaging roughly 12,4,4.5 so he isnt too bad. They also get a young big body in Thabeet who may develop but honestly probably not. He’s just a big body that gives them more size.
Alright honestly would this be better? Or am I just crazy lol

Mr. 19134ParticipantYeah this trade is much much much better. Only thing is I see no reason why Cleveland would want to take on a bloated Hedo contract especially considering we all know he probably wouldn’t even try to play there. They be better off getting Richardson. But Cleveland might take him on if Marcus Morris went their too who would combine with Thompson to form a very tough inside/out forward tandem for the future.

DipoTimeParticipantMy thinking for hedo going to cleveland is that maybe he will play hard for Kyrie? cleveland either needs to get what they can from Jamisons expiring contract or they will probably end up overpaying somebody in the offseason bc 1) its cleveland and not a lot of big time free agents will want to play there and 2)…..Dan Gilbert. He is the main reason why this trade could go down.. I wouldnt be surprised to see an email sent out to the cleveland fans saying something like
Lebron who??
We got HEDO!!!

db24kb24Participant@srbadger – I’m trying to get rid of Scola in all my fantasy leagues… he is allergic to rebounds. If Orlando trades D12 who leads the league in boards who’s gonna rebound for that team? Earl? Ryan? Jamison?
Houston wanted to trade Scola earlier because I think they see some of the same tendencies, he only plays on offense, and he won’t hit the glass…That’s why they brought in Sammy to get bigger(c.hayes) and to win or compete in the rebounding battle. Houston has a lot of young talent, but Orlando would want a rebounding BIG in return. Otis messed up parting w/ Gortat

DipoTimeParticipantwell.. first of all I think Scola is playing uninspired since he knows he is on the block.. he’s averaging under 6 boards a game this year but averaged 8+ the last three years so idk if he will be that bad. Second, I really think Anderson is a good rebounder as well. He’s getting 7 per playing WITH the best rebounder in the league and he averaged 10 a game his sophomore year at Cal, so I could see him and Scola getting a combined 16 or more a game. No, they won’t make up for Dwight’s rebounding, but who really would make up for that unless you traded him for Bynum straight up. I think that is the only trade that Orlando could do to replace Dwight. I’m obviously more hopeful than realistic with my Houston trade lol
