The Scare Crow RisesParticipant#1 Overall Pick (Simmons or Ingram) via Philadelphia 76ers for Devin Booker and The 3rd pick (Murray or Brown)
Suns add the Top Pick to a core of Len, Warren and the Bledsoe|Knight duo…
76ers add some shooters around Noel, Okafor, Saric and Embiid…
Suns avoid having to Draft another G in Murray, Dunn or Brown to a degree, Bender is a huge gamble and Simmons is a great Prospect to rebuild with if you’re Phoenix…
76ers avoid having to draft Simmons just to turn around and trade Saric who seems like a better fit with his ability to take and make an occasional outside shot…Adding 2 floor spacers like Booker and Murray would be an ideal move…
So who says No? Or is this a fair offer on both sides?
I’m leaning towards The Suns wanting a little bit more(Lakers pick in 2017? Protected pick from Philly in 2018?)

Ebown5ParticipantNo way do you trade the first pick for anything other than another player with equal talent. Simmons is the kind of franchise player that teams tank for.
Devin Booker is a really good prospect, and the 3rd pick should yield another good prospect, but Simmons is a potential superstar, and you don’t play games with a pick like that.
I wouldn’t even trade Ingram for Booker and the 3rd pick for the same reasons, even if it is to a lesser degree.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantBut what Im sensing from you is that Philadelphia should get more back in the Trade, maybe another lottery pick some time in the future…
I understand that #1 overall picks are a rare commodity and taking the sure thing is always advised BUT I’m not sold on Simmons being a Superstar, I think the 76ers are better off taking Ingram or trading for some shooters, I really like the idea of adding Devin Booker and drafting Murray at Pg or Brown at Sf with the 3rd pick, if we can get even more back from Phoenix like you assume I would do it in a heartbeat…
Very controversial thought, but I’ve said from the start that Ingram is the better fit(actually wouldn’t mind getting the 2nd pick and staying put)
But if we win the Top Pick I want to trade Simmons for Booker and the 3rd Pick (Brown or Murray if we assume he can play Pg)

Ebown5ParticipantWhat I am saying is that I’m not trading a franchise player for a collection of non franchise players.
Getting a player like Simmons is why teams try to tank. He is EXACTLY the goal, and if we(I’m a Sixer fan) are lucky enough to get the first pick then we should draft Simmons without a second thought. We would then have two potential franchise players in Simmons and Embiid, and we could figure out what to do with the rest of the roster later.
Booker would be a nice guy to have for sure. I would love to figure out a way to get him, but I’m not messing with the chance to get a player like Simmons.

markfitz14ParticipantI would rather draft Simmons and trade everyone else on the team. I think he will be that good. I would get people who better fit around Simmons.

HitsterParticipantThe Sixers would not pass up a chance to take Ingram or Simmons and that’s coming from a Suns fan.
Depending on what happens to the Lakers pick if that ends up with Philly this year at say 4 and Phoenix were at 5 in the draft then the sort of trade described above might happen.

mercyman25ParticipantWe know who Booker is. We have no idea who Simmons is. I know everyone is sold on Simmons being a sure thing, but at the moment I see Michael Beasley. Lazy stat stuffing loser. Nice kid, but Beasley is a nice guy too. All the talent in the world 26/12 in college, but too much quit in him. Time will tell and I hope I’m wrong. Booker wasn’t even a starter in college, but he is now in the nba. He is playing out of position, but putting it together quickly. Phoenix has won 3 of the last 4 games, Booker is leading the charge. If he would have waited 1 more year in college he would probably be 2 in the draft. I may be way off base, but maybe not.

r377ParticipantAgreed. Booker would be almost untouchable for the Suns. 3pt shooting is more and more valued, Booker will be at the top of the charts for SG in the next few seasons…..

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantSixers have been tanking for so long to get the opportunity to draft a player with Simmons potential that I doubt they would pass up the opportunity if it presented itself. If Simmons does turn out to be what some people are projecting him to be the backlash would be enormous.
Just for the record though, I’m not completely sold on Simmons either and I’m not even sure he’s the best prospect in this draft. I actually think this could be a really good move for the sixers and could speed up their rebuilding process enormously. I just couldn’t see them actually pulling the trigger.

BiggaveliiiParticipantI Think Phoenix wins the lottery. Based on philly’s luck of getting the 3rd pick. "If" Philly gets the pick no way they make that trade. Btw Bookers a stud dudes a baller

BiggaveliiiParticipantBut if im Phoenix i wouldnt trade booker and the 3rd pick, at the 3rd pick they can jaylen brown or murray, and hypothetically even if Simmons hs that potential giving up bookers potential and a top 3 pick i feel is a alot for one player when you can get a quality prospect with that pick they have, you cant win with just one player as good as Simmons is, Booker is the real deal if im Phoenix i wouldnt give up both those assests. Build with what you have a solid young scoring pg in the mold of a curry, i think that should be the new model in which teams should follow. As good as Simmons is your still gonna have to find pieces to build around him. Where as the Suns actually have a good foundation with Warren, Len, Booker, Goodwin plus their pick.

BiggaveliiiParticipantI may get negged but I honestly believe Simmons is not going to be a transcendent player, i think he can be an allstar sure, but i wouldnt mortgage the future for one player.

mercyman25ParticipantBooker is a good player in the nba now, and he is younger than any of the top two players in the draft. Simmons may be a great player, but who knows. Phoenix needs more talent.

mercyman25ParticipantIf the Suns win the lottery, would the 76ers trade Noel and the 3rd pick for Simmons and the 26th pick?
