This Thursday night game with the Steelers vs Ravens has made me come up with a good question concerning basketball.  As many of you know Mike Vick is starting in place of Big Ben and will have to carry the load for the next 4-6 weeks which is a good portion of the season.  So now with the basketball question:

Which bench player on your favorite team do you think can keep your team competitive if a starter went out with an injury?

Atlanta Hawks: If Jeff Teague was out for a stint I think Dennis Schroder would have no problem handling the reigns.

Jazz: I think that if Dante Exum went down with an injury, Trey Burke could handle it… oh wait.

Celtics go 3 deep at every position, plus Perry Jones. You name the position, and the Celtics have multiple ready-to-party "backups".

I could almost see Brad going platoon style like Kentucky did last year.

White team: Bradley, Smart, Turner, David Lee, Zeller

backups for white platoon: Sullinger, RJ "Big Game" Hunter, Jordan Mickey

Green team: IT4, Crowder, Jerebko, Amir Johnson, Olynyk

backups for green platoon: Rozier, James Young, (PJ3)

Our bench unit, which appears to be that Green team from the team scrimmage, is going to dominate opposing benches again, and down the stretch. That’s a top 3 offensive unit.

Our starting unit basically just has to keep games close.

the starter… But ultimately, when these players are forced into the starting role, we begin to see why they were back ups to begin with & we gain a new appreciation for the starter… I don’t want to speak for anyone else – but that’s been my experience… For any team in any sport to win a Title, close to 100% health is almost always high on the "to do list"

I say if Dwyane Wade is out for a while, I think Justise Winslow can handle it and keep us competitive for a while. I like Gerald Green and all but he is better off the bench for us and plus Winslow can play D.

Taj could easily play starters minutes for a stretch

First of all I disagree completely with the legend that says Schröder is better or just as good as Teague. Secondly, when a guy goes down,no mpatter how good the back up is,that hurts your depth. Other than that I’d say Sefolosha replacing Carroll won’t make the Hawks starting lineup worse at all(Sefolosha is elite defensively,Carroll is "just" very good )
