cycloParticipantThe following senior PFs prospects project as 2nd round to undrafted on most sites, but I think 2 maybe 3 of these guys could sneak into the late 1st round where teams like Boston, Miami, New Jersey, Orlando and San Antonio are all in desperate need of big man depth.
Matthew Bryan-Amaning 6-9 240 PF Washington
Rick Jackson 6-9 240 PF Syracuse
Papa Dia 6-9 235 PF Southern Methodist
Denzel Bowles 6-10 250 PF/C James Madison
The footage of Matthew Bryan-Amaning looks especially impressive and absolutely NBA translatable. Great athlete. Explosive. Strong build. Long arms. I’m sure he’ll test better than the others athletically. I can easily imagine him running with Russell Westbrook and alongside Kevin Durant on Oklahoma City.
Using 40 Minute Pace Adjusted statistics, the top three NCAA performers in each category are:
Scoring: Papa Dia, Denzel Bowles, Matthew Bryan-Amaning
Rebounding: Papa Dia, Rick Jackson, Denzel Bowles
Blocks: Papa Dia, Rick Jackson, Matthew Bryan-Amaning
Assists: Denzel Bowles, Rick Jackson, Papa Dia
Steals: Rick Jackson, Matthew Bryan-Amaning, Papa Dia
FG%: Rick Jackson, Denzel Bowles, Papa Dia
FT%: Papa Dia, Denzel Bowles, Matthew Bryan-Amaning
3FG%: Papa Dia
Turnovers: Papa Dia, Denzel Bowles, Rick Jackson
I’m surprised Papa Dia doesn’t even have a page on this site considering he’s a solid face up shooter and the only one with range out to 3-point land. Good free throw shooter too. Those skills from a big man usually translate to the NBA. He is by far the most turnover prone though, but in the NBA he wouldn’t be the focal point of an offense.
How would you rank these PF prospects 1-4?

juslistinParticipantBeing from Syracuse I’m a big fan of Rick Jackson and I have seen him play for the last 4 years and his game has improved with each year, the impressive part about his game is his ability to rebound the ball and alter shots in the lane, but he’s too slow for the NBA game and does not have enough offensive moves at the next level. He reverts to the same move each and everytime which is a small dribble spin move with the left hand, he uses many ball fakes and can only score with his back to the basket or on second chance points. He has no face up game which will not translate to the next level as well as not showing any ability to shoot the ball from anywhere beyond 5 feet of the basket , if anything he has a lot of work to do before he can play at the next level.

iguapops420ParticipantI like rick Jackson a lot. Seems to be a bit of a sleeper. If he could develop a nice spot up j from 15, he could have a nice career similar to Udonis Haslem with better athleticism. Jarai Grant seems noteworthy. Faried,Johnson, and Harper could all potentially fall into the 2nd as well. My favorite (aside from Faried who could go anywhere from 15-45) is Jeremy Tyler. Kid has a strong work ethic, is maturing nicely, and has the size/d for the NBA. His age is only a sign of what else is there untapped. Project though.

cycloParticipantI should have included him, but he couldn’t crack the rotation in the Israeli league, quit the team before the end of the season, and until the earthquake, was producing underwhelming numbers in Japan.
I guess I just don’t have enough information about his skills etc. I’d like to know more.
