Last year I posted Lebron buying a 2nd home in Beverly Hills and that he’s going to the Lakers..I got negged for it lol..We’ll looks like KD just bought a house in NY and put his Bay Area house up for sale.

Also Ric Bucher reports Kyrie Just bought a house in South Orange…

Wouldn’t players know that if they buy a house prior to signing a contract, it will be used as leverage against them in negotiating, enabling the franchise to say, "We know you’ve chosen to play here, so we’re not bidding against anyone?" Or is the idea that they are all going to be max offers anyway? Or do most of them own homes in a plethora of different locations anyway?

Also, why wouldn’t they just wait until July or August to buy a house? They are already wealthy enough that it’s not like they saw such a great deal that they had to pounce on it while they still could. If following real estate purchases was a consistently reliable way to predict free agent signings, we’d probably have known about a lot more of the signings before they happen, and it would also deter the players from purchasing during this time frame.

I think you make some good points (primarily that these players get the max regardless) but most importantly the team still has to convince the player to sign a long contact and not pull a post Miami Lebron 1 plus 1 move in Cleveland

I see where you are coming from but the Knicks would be beyond stupid to try and play little games with their big free agent targets.

Remember when Orlando low-balled Shaq?  That didn’t turn out well for them.

But as I’m writing this I remember we are talking about the Knicks so this is exactly what I expect them to do.  Durant to Nets confirmed.

This is an interesting question to me. I think Russell & Irving would be an offensively dynamic duo like Lillard/McCollum in Portland, keep one of them on the floor at all times.

Now Brooklyn already has 2 other guards who are showing great potential in Levert & Dinwiddie. Now you could say Levert is a SF which is fine, but the way he scores is with the ball in his hands, same goes for Spencer Dinwiddie.

So you would have Irving, Russell, Levert & Dinwiddie all who want the ball to be effective scorers, does this sound similar to the Boston situation & how did that workout???

I love this young Brooklyn team & want to see D’Lo back there, for this reason I hope Kyrie goes & joins LBJ in LA.

Maybe PHX, DLO and Book have a great relationship, they’ve been hanging out a lot..I can’t see BK paying Kyrie, DLO and Spence..lot of money allocated to PG’s.

JaVale McGee bought a house but he cannot remember where it is!

A guy like KD could easily carry on doing the LBJ 1+1 type contracts. Okay he is leaving money on the table but he is already a multi millionaire from his NBA earnings before you consider what he makes off court.

My dream scenerio. Kawhi resigns and Durant comes to Toronto next year after signing a 1 year deal.

Durant buys a house in NY during the finals? worrisome for warriors fans. As a Durant fan, I think he’ll do excellent there.

As a Laker fan, I know I should be happy. But I’d rather keep Ball and see what he becomes. And Kuzma. And Ingram.

South Orange isn’t exactly LA. It takes an hour to get there from LA.

If they do trade Ball, it should be for a young center who can defend the rim and hit 3’s. The problem is Ball has places he’ll refuse to go. I think he said he’d go to Phoenix and one other place. But the Suns aren’t handing them Ayton.

Kyrie Irving new house according to google maps

South Orange to NJ stadium about 22 mins.

South Orange to madison square garden about 33mins.

So not much difference time wise.  Not sure how smart he is but this is genuis if he wants max $$ offer from the Knicks by thinking he is keen on the Nets.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, I think new Jersey would be a good team for Durant to go to….
