JordanShootingJumpers23ParticipantA couple things early on, Patrick Beverly is coming out aggressive defensively guarding MCW. MCW is not handling pressure well early.

JordanShootingJumpers23ParticipantHou Defense is smothering Phi, MCW just made a great up court pass to Rodney Williams for a nice dunk. Tyler Honeycutt looks more explosive tried to finish a nice dunk in traffic but got fouled.

rileymcshea3ParticipantI feel like the Rockets are full court pressing them with the PGs to see who will really get after it on defense. They know Harden will give them enough offense from the backcourt so they are trying to find a defensive PG to pair up with him.

JordanShootingJumpers23ParticipantBeverly is a ball hawk and is quick. Khalif Wyatt has not left an imprint at all on the game. Terrance jones will not go to his right hand. MCW is battling now, way more aggressive and under control. I like the announcers for the game, they are interesting and give good insight.

providencefriars1ParticipantMy Take…
Even though Carter-Williams has many turnovers, I think he has looked okay thus far. He has gotten to the free throw line a lot and has converted many of his drives to the basket. He did this inconsistently at Syracuse so it is encouraging to see this in his very first summer league game. The jump shot needs work but that’s no surprise.
Terrence Jones, Patrick Beverly, James Anderson and Greg Smith have really impressed me.
Honeycutt, Casper Ware, Jack Cooley, Michael Eric, Tour’e Murry, and Arnett Moultrie have shown flashes
Khalif Wyatt, Travis Leslie, and James Southerland have not looked good at all
Rodney Williams has had some powerful finishes too
Surprising that Vander Blue and Isaiah Canaan have not gotten in yet

JordanShootingJumpers23ParticipantRodney Williams is scoring in transition and off the ball, looks good so far . MCW is impacting this game big time in the second half. I keep thinking Cooley is Harengody every time I see him on he court. Phi Fighting back and has made it a six point game.

RafterParticipantFunny game for Carter-Williams so far, he’s shown he can get to the line at a very healthy rate due to his superior size he’s been turnover prone due to the insane pressure by Beverley and being simply nervous. Imagine what kind of game he’d produce if he toned down the turnovers and wasn’t being marked so tightly, kid has the X-Factor at this level.

JordanShootingJumpers23ParticipantFinal Thoughts: MCW has game but has to work on securing the ball, jump shot, and decision making. Terrance Jones was aggressive and looked good overall, Beverly was great defensively and offensively with his attitude, quickness, and aggressiveness. Rodney Williams has a place on he 76ers with his athletic ability and effort, Wyatt, southerland, and Moultrie were underwhelming.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantHe’s got a lot of flaws right now (TO’s and Jump shot to name a few) but he’s got great size, athleticism and an aggressive approach…
He needs to play 20 plus minutes per game and the coach needs to let him work through his mistakes…
I think Rodney Williams makes the Team and eventually makes his way on the court this year…
Wyatt wont make the team and I want to see more Arsalan Kazem but he fouls a lot for a F…

Sewok15ParticipantDoes anybody know why Justin Holiday didn’t play?….it seems like they were in desperate need of some scoring from the wing and he is the best one they have on their summer league roster.
As for MCW this is what you should expect from him….he will be crazy inconsistent and turn the ball over a lot. He will take some bad shots then the next time down the court make a great move. He is certainly a project but he may be forced to start if the Sixers don’t sign a free agent PG.
