I haven’t really watched either one closely. Which one has the higher upside as far as an NBA SG, and who will be picked higher in 2011 draft (assuming ofcourse both declare).

I think Alec Burks has a higher ceiling and will be picked higher too. I’m not a fan of either, but Burks does have the look of an NBA player to me the more I watch him, just not a star. Barton doesn’t even look like a true 2011 one-and-done prospect.

I see Burks as a Josh Childress-type of Swiss army knife, with good length and athleticism, and I see Barton as a poor mans Jamal Crawford, a skinny, quick combo guard who can score in bunches but has trouble contributing when he struggles to score.

I like Barton better. Barton has way better passing abilities and is a better 3 point shooter. Plus, his wingspan is massive and he already is a good defender. I think Barton has the better all around game by a good margin.

And he has that Baltimore pedigree…which is all the rage these days.

Alec Burks is more polished then Barton right now despite Barton showing glimpse of a higher ceiling but remember they are the same age Burks was a 17 year old freshman a year younger then his class and Barton is actually a year older.

Barton reminds me of Elliot Williams i think he will come out after his sophomore year and be a possibly lotto pick but 2012 might have a deep draft so who knows.  Barton reminds me also of Jamal Crawford and he does have crazy length but he seems more like a tease then somebody who will take over games.

Alec Burks at worse will be a rich man Courtney Lee.  At best Burks can be a Rip Hamilton type player a tall and smoothe shooting guard who can average 17 a game.  Burks is most likely to reach his ceiling.

Yeah, Burks probably will have the better NBA game but Barton has more talent.

@DanEboy I was about to say what you just said was kinda defeating the point but I agree with you even though it kinda sounds dumb.  How can one player have more talent but not the better NBA game.  It’s Because Burcs has size and a certain skill set that translates well and Burcs is very effective at being able to exploit his advantages.  Burks to me has a defined NBA skill- slashing, where as Barton is still trying to figure out what part of his game he should develop into his signature because he can do so many things well.  If Barton did put weight on as he refined his 3 catch and shoot range he would be most effective.  His playmaking and athleticism will always be there.  I like Barton alot tho and think he should be getting more attention.  They both reminds of Larry Hughes game for some reason maybe it;s because they;re both smoothe with the ball.

And they played against Indiana and New Mexico on CBSSports. Not to mention espn3 had Colorado games all throughout the Big12 conference slate last season.

Thanks guys. Love atdhe.net. They have pretty much every game in sports. That’s actually where I watch Browns games on Sundays. CBSSports, cool. I have that channel…I should be on the lookout for games. ESPN3 is actually pretty solid. I can’t watch it at home but I can watch it in my dorm room, LOL.
