delfamParticipantSo Lebron gets booed and Big Z gets a big ovation, pretty funny. And to top it all off they play the Emperial Army music from Star Wars in the back round. Should be an entertaining game.

Ghost01ParticipantJust a thought….
The Heat should use the Imperial Army theme for home game intros too.

Counting StarsParticipantIlgauskas took out an ad in the Cleveland Plain Dealer thanking fans for their support when he signed with the Heat. I think it’s safe to say he left on much better terms.

sheltwon3ParticipantIf Ilgauskas was a better player they would be mad. right now Big Z is a role player. I think some of you just dont get it. Anything Lebron did outside of staying would have got him much hate because of how good he is.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantyea he did it. Anyway they don’t have the right to boo Z anyway since they actually traded him away for Jamison in the first place. Z didn’t need to resign with them but did anyway.

NYK2010ParticipantHa the Cavs proved to Lebron and everyone else he made the right choice by not staying in Cleveland. The Cavs were overrated esp. last year its time to move on. Also where was the great J.J. Hickson one dunk and then you barely knew he was in the game. I’m curious to see how Chicago, NJ and NY fans treat Lebron.

omphalosParticipantMan I didn’t like how Lebron was chatting with Gibson the whole game, almost daring him to give him the snub under pressure from the fans. Maybe he’s hoping Gibson will join the Heat sometime soon and is trying to make him unpopular with Cavs fans.

mikeyvthedonParticipantYeah, I thought the same thing, but than realized he signed an extension with Cleveland until 2012-13. Looks like Boobie is on the Cavs for the next little while. I personally find it hard to hate on players being cool with each other, though I do miss the heated rivalries that some players used to have. For instance, the old school Lakers v. Celtics. Magic and Dennis Johnson were boys, and when DJ landed on the Celts, they just stopped hanging out altogether. If you were a Laker, you did not associate with the Celtics and vice versa. It was cold, but it was competition over comraderie. That is what most people would like to see, especially during the actual game itself.

SwatLakeCityParticipantSheltwon, I really dont think it mattered how much better Lebron is than Big Z. I really think it was the way Lebron left the Cavs. Big Z did it on much better terms.
What I think Lebron should have done is after he announced he would be "taking his talents to South Beach" on "The Decision", he should have thanked Cleveland fans for all they did. For helping him, becoming a man. Supporting him, believing in him and his team. All that sort of stuff deserves some appreciation especially if you received a big chunk of it like Lebron did. I think if would have thanked Cleveland and explained that the only way he would become an even better player and win championships is if he left for Miami; and then go through the rest of the show with the interviews, I think he would be on much better terms with the Cavs. Instead the way he did it, was like he completely disowned them. I think he did it in an even worse way than Booz did it when he left the Cavs for the Jazz all for the money.
Big Z was willing to resign with them, but knew they were never going to win a title without Lebron so that’s why he followed Lebron to Miami. He wanted to win a title so he left to where he could. But he thanked Cleveland fans and he was even willing to sign with the team after he was already traded for Jamison even though he didn’t need to.
