Take a glance and let me know what you think.  And no, there are no insane scenarios where the Hawks get Mason Plumlee or DeMarcus Cousins.  Just small deals that I beleive would help the Hawks deal with their lack of dept at the PF/C positions.

Eh if they going to give up a first would like to see them go after Enes Kanter. Also Andrew from Orlando could be sought after as well

Tilt trades in favor of their own team, but I think your proposed Thompson deal has the Hawks overpaying. Same goes for the Plumlee deal. Other than that, they’re good, reasonable expectations.

As Kevin6CD said: Good expectation. However, the Hawks would be overpaying in all the propositions. They won’t spend that much for such small improvements.

I guess the way I look at it, Minnesotat won’t be in the playoffs in 2017 so that pick will turn into a second round pick.

And the 2016 we would give up in the Plumlee deal would be a mid to late 20’s pick and Plumlee/Goodwin are worth that.

But if that 2017 pick actually works out and the Wolves make the playoffs then I could see where that would be a lot to give up.  But if it helped us make it to the East Finals, NBA Finals or dare I say it, an NBA Title then I’d be glad to give that up.  Especially since we will likely be adding a lottery pick this season and should resign most of our guys this summer.

Kanter’s efficiently putting up 14/8 this year in under 30 mpg and has extended his range. He’s often a liability on D, but he could be a wrecking ball offensively on the second unit for the Hawks and be a solid rotation piece that can get points and gobble up rebounds. Also, even though he has slow defensive feet, he can effectively muscle up on strong post bigs.

I’m one of the Jazz fans that is very sad to see Kanter asking for a trade. I think he can be a 20/10 guy in this league under the right conditions in the Boozer or Big Al mold. However, like both of them, he will always have problems defensively and may be a bit of a black hole offensively.

Due to the development of Gobert and Favors, Kanter looks more and more like the odd man out in Utah, and with him currently requesting a trade, he may be available at a bargain price. Also, this could continue the Hawks’ recent tradition of picking up Jazz pieces and helping them hit their potential.
