whats up guys. im not sure if you talk much about the harrison twins. its all about wiggins, randle, parker, etc. but these kids are very talented and i believe are ranked number 3 & 8 respectively. (not quite sure) anyways if your not familiar with there games check them out on youtube. who do you guys think they play like? where do you guys see them in a few years, meaning: will they still be in college. will they have won a championship in college, what college, will they be rookies in the NBA. will they be very good in the NBA etc etc. give your opinions.

I think there was a thread the other day about them. They’re 2 of my favorite prospects in their class. I think it was Joe Lunardi during their game the other day compared Andrew Harrison to a combination of Tyreke Evans and Derrick Rose. Not as big and strong as Tyreke but bigger and stronger than Rose, and not as fast and quick as Rose but quicker than Tyreke. I’m not sure if he’ll be as good as either one of them because I’m awful at gauging high school talent, but I think he and his twin will be very good players.

This might be a way off comparison considering I’ve only seen about 7 games combined with these 2 players, but for some reason the first player that comes to mind when I think of Aaron Harrison is Dion Waiters. Someone can tell me if this is a completely awful comparison, just what first came to mind

Hmmmmm not awful at first glance but the more you watch Aaron the more you realize he’s much better.  A shade less athletic but a much better defender and shooter. This guys range is Ridiculous and that’s putting it mildly. On top of that he can slide over and play PG for a good portion of games and has all defensive team type potential. His crossover is devastating and he can also get to the rim and finish strong.

I’m having a hard time with comparisons but if I had to pick one it would be a mix between O.J Mayo and Eric Gordan when they were freshmen in college.  Andrew can score but he looks to pass much more. Not comparing but he’s a lot like Andre Miller in the fact that he looks to get his teammates off while being able to score and defined yet his bigger.  There are better comparisons but those are the things that Miller would do in his prime

Yeah I think Aaron is better than Waiters, but they’re similar in size and skill set, with Waiters being a little more athletic and Aaron being a better defender, shooter, and ball handler, like you said

Trust me Waiters is not a lot more athletic.  People think Aaron isn’t a athlete because he’s such a great shooter but he has dunked on a couple of centers this summer. He has the sneaky bounce like Ray Allen had when he was younger

    Andrew Harrison is a monster…

I remember a NBA scout saying that if Andrew Wiggins doesn’t reclassify, Andrew Harrison has a chance to be the #1 pick in 2014 if he impresses. (of course he would contend with Parker and Randle for that honor)

There is a tier 1 of players in the 2013 highschool class imo. And that is Jabari Parker, Julius Randle, and Andrew Harrison. One could make a case for Aaron Gordon being in that group as well since he just came back from injury.

Never seen them play yet. But I’ll be sure to watch them during the all star circuit next spring and when they get to the college level next year. A lot of people like it, especially on these boards here, but me I just can’t sit and watch high school games. I don’t know, I just can’t do it, doesn’t really interest me. So I’ll wait til they get to college, to get a better guage of their how good they are as I do with all the players.

What I like about the twins are that they have nice size, 6’5 with handles. Plus they seem to have high IQ’s, they really understand the game. They both shoot well also. Impressive kids. I like Aaron alot but I really like Andre. I like him becasue he is a PG. At 6’5, good strength, handle and above average jumper, he’ll be projected high. I’ll go way back, Andre might have some Penny Hardaway in him from his school days..

Why is one considered a PG and the other a SG?  They play the exact same way.  When I watched them, I couldn’t remember which one was number 2 and which was number 5, nevermind which one was supposed to be the point guard and I couldn’t discern from their style of play.  They’re both flashy, like to penetrate, look to score as well as pass when they penetrate, can shoot and defend well.  Whoever is the point guard is not a "pure point" and whoever is the shooting guard is a playmaking shooting guard.

The one tossing the lobs against Boo Williams was Andre, number 5. I see Andre more as the 1 and Aaron as the 2. Aaron is a little more aggressive in scoring then Andre. Andre looks to create for others a little more. But great point, if it comes down to it, if drafted, they could both be considered combo type guards. I just think Andre has more "point guard" in him than Aaron.

Andrew is not a combo guard he is a pg. he doesn’t look to shoot much he looks to pass almost all the time. He loves getting a bunch of assists and having only four points. He is a true PG. Aaron looks to score first and foremost. They are twins but their games are not identical. Aaron is the better shooter and the one with the scorers mentality while Andrew has a passers mentality. Even NBA scouts don’t see him as a combo, they see him as a present and future PG. Aaron can play some PG but he doesn’t have a passing mentality so he could be considers a combo

Some say Andrew is the best PG in high school regardless of class. I honestly think that belongs to Tyus Jones. Jones reminds me of #1 draft pick, Kyrie Irving. I dont know, Im not the biggest fan of the Harrison twins. Ive watched them before and Aaron seemed to be a little overrated. I think guys rank them together just because there twins to be honest. Aaron will be a nice college player. Play 1 year and go off to the NBA. But I dont see a star like some people say. Arron Afflalo, that type of guy is what I see him as. I’ve read that both Harrison’s also have very poor body language, which isnt neccesarily a problem since there both young but still. But Andrew is nice as far as size for a PG. He could be along the likes of a Tyreke Evans. He is a combo guard in my opinion. Andrew is a scorer first if you’ve watched any of his games.

That would mean the other guards are overrated because Aaron outplays them every time he has been matched up with them and more times than not his team wins. He’s also ranked high because he not only kills you on offense he also shuts you down on defense. With Andrew he has jones because he can do the things Jones can but he does it in a 6’5 body.

The twins body language isn’t the best but it’s not differ than Wiggins,Randle when they don’t agree with a call. Either way Rasheed Wallace had horrible body language but that didn’t effect his play or his impact on teams

There arent a lot of good two guards in HS Basketball. If you guys are comparing this guy to Eric Gordon then your going to be dissapointed is all im saying. And a good defender and a good shooter is what he will be in the league. Of course you can do all of those things on high school competition. And Andrew may have the better body, but Jones has a better understanding the game meaning running an offense. He is the better passer. He is also a deadly scorer and a great shooter with great ball handling ability with great speed. He is the PG I would rather have running my team instead of Andrew Harrison. Andrew Harrison is a good player, im not knocking him at all. He may end up being great but im saying Jones is the better PG as of now imo. Just because Andrew has a 6’5 body you would take him over the better guard? What does he do better than Tyus Jones?

There aren’t a a lot of good any position in any year to be honest.  There weren’t a lot of good small forwards when Lebron came out so did that mean he wasn’t as good as advertised?  How about when centers are good in H.S. there aren’t many of them. Aaron is just as good going to the basket as he is shooting, you might want to watch him more because he’s not just a shooter and defender. He breaks down defenses has a high basketball IQ and no glaring weakness.  I guess Wiggins,Randle,Parker aren’t as good because their Rent many good players at their position

On another note he completely shut down Dukes Matt Jones last night

Back to you’re comment about not a lot of good sg, you must not have watched

      James Young

      Issac Hamilton

      Jabari Bird

      wayne Seldon

      Cavier mayes

Harrison twins are awesome. I watched the game where they destroyed Boo Williams which had 3 players in the top 50 of 2013. But I would give the edge to Tyus Jones over Andrew Harrison. The kid can do it all. He might be a better passer than Andrew and I know he’s definitely a better scorer, the only thing Andrew has over him is height.

It’s pretty widely viewed that Tyus Jones is the best PG in high school. He led the Nike Peach Jam in scoring and was something like 2nd in assists as well. He has a crazy feel for the game much like Kyrie.

He’s undersized for the position so he isn’t as good of a finisher or as athletic as Kyrie but I think he makes up for it because he is more pass first minded.

And he played with lesser talent, his team did well, and his shooting percentages were off the charts. He took a ton of 3pters and still shot (I think) over 60% from 3.

His mixes make him look overrated. You have to watch him play to get an idea on just how good he is. Complete control of the game, very good scorer, and he can pass.

I remember watching CP3 in high school and that’s who Tyus reminds me off. Similiar "attitude" too.
