PhlyBoi5ParticipantHear me out..
Harrison Barnes is a no nonsense other worldy talent. NO glitz, NO glamor, NO NONSENSE! Just productivity. He demonstrates a solid handle. (Lebron esque) He makes the right pass (not nearly Lebron like) His stroke is miles ahead of Lebron at the same age.(enough said) He elevates from ridiculous places on the court and demonstrate elite hangtime. (still not on Lebrons level athletically but then again who is) His defense is right on par with Lebron at the same age. He has all the components to be the incumbent all purpose best player in the NBA.
I sincerely believe he is the next super star in the league. He has both the maturity and the “IT” factor. He is dominant and appears to enjoy being dominant. We will see his alpha male attitude show more and more throughout this upcoming season. I know he hasn’t played a game in college yet. But his confidence has been surging since this time last year. It’s still hard to believe he has only been playing on the perimeter for little over a year now. Killer Instinct will not be a problem for this kid. He is a gem something “like” Lebron…just a little more “refined”

B-ball fanParticipantWay too early to mention him being as good as LeBron. He hasn’t even played a season of college basketball, much less an NBA game.

PhlyBoi5Participant@ Anton123 LOL word they might!
@ bballfan both are simply surefire # 1 picks with tremendous upside with a huge amount of hype. Since Lebron has been in the league nobody has been comparable as a prospect. Sure Harrison isn’t 240 lbs. But i believe that has added to more to Harrisons game. He has said that his fav. player is Kobe. He has a Kobe build with Lebron height IMO.

ilike.panochasParticipantIm not really sure if Harrison Barnes will reach Lebron or Kobe status as far as playing level and superstar level wise, I think his highest ceiling will be like Carmelo Anthony, which is not bad at all. He doesn’t have the explosiveness that Lebron or Kobe have, but hes a clever scorer and can really score anywhere on the floor, im not sure how good his court vision is and how good his defense is, thats why I say hes going to be like Carmelo instead of the other 2.

WrecklessParticipantMight get points taken for this but i think He’s
More like Jamal Mashburn before the injuries kept him down. (First 3 years in the league) or maybe even Glen Robinson
I see him being a 22 Points, 5 boards , 3 assists guy.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/11/2010 - 11:23am #372855

ilike.panochasParticipantI actually see your comparison with Mashburn, that guy was a monster at 6’8 240lbs with guard skills. His problems were injuries and staying in shape (which leads to believe he had below average work ethic), I see his game similar to Barnes, but I think Barnes will be a little more dynamic scorer than Mash was.

SubZeroParticipantWe talked about Lebron like this when he was in high school, we called him the “Chosen One”. Why can’t we do it about Barnes? We need something to look forward to

PhlyBoi5Participantim not calling him kobe. i simply said he resembles a more “refined” lebron. his game is more polished and not as freakish.

Bryant24ParticipantI like harrison branes alot im a unc fan so im ready to se him do great things like kille the dukies sorry duke fans but he has talent and his shooting form is magnificent he needs some crossovers and he is a good athlete not no out of the jumper like a lebron or josh smith but he can dunk on you and is athletic and quick enough to take you to the hoop. I say he is alot like Grant Hill i like that comaprison hope injuries never get to him.

WrecklessParticipantI really dont get the Grant Hill comparison. Sure he is 6’8 and 220 lbs but he doesn’t even have the court vision Like Grant Hill. It just doesn’t make since to me. I think most of you are just giving into the comparison just because you hear it and I bet some of you guys havent even seen em play. Like I said before I see Jamal Mashburn(Pre Injuries)/ Glen Robinson.

ilike.panochasParticipantGrant Hill played PG when he was with the Pistons so he had “Point Guard skills”, im not sure if Harrison Barnes is that type of player, I see him more of a pure scorer like Carmelo Anthony.

That would sure help people in Cleveland forget about LeBron.

OhCanada-ParticipantBarnes will be the best wing drafted since Kevin Durant. He will do scary things dominating the college level as a Freshman, he may not be the first overall draft pick thou, there are alot of good gaurds any of them could emerge.

Bvilleballer21ParticipantThis is one of the most absurd posts I’ve ever seen on this site. Saying Barnes will be anywhere near the player lebron is / will become is simply ridiculous. They are incredibly different players, sharing only their height/ body type (though lebron is in another stratosphere physically.) Harrison’s game is
based on smooth footwork and crafty shot
making, whereas lebron’s is entirely focused on power through the lane. Because
Of lebron’s frame, he is able to do things Harrison will never be able
to. Not to mention lebron is blessed with the greatest court vision at his size maybe in the history of the game. It’s extremely difficult to compare anyone to lebron for these reasons — his GOAT athleticism and his court vision. Harrison’s ceiling is a poor man’s tall Kobe minus the ball handling. Lebron’s is Jordan athletic magic.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/11/2010 - 4:27pm #373219
