canesboy6ParticipantI love how everybody labeled him a bust. He is playing great ball, getting better every game. Had some sweet up and unders, scored 20, and had a poster as well.

M.GarveyParticipantHe should leave, I dont see him not being a top 13 pick this year, although I must say I dont see him being a Franchise player, more of a second scorer, 15-20ppg guy, but he who knows, maybe his game is better suited for the NBA and he’ll be a 25ppg at his peak

JNixonParticipantI think he’ll leave early, and I see him as a guaranteed lotto pick. His range probably is 5-10.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantGuaranteed top 8 pick.
He has really turned it on.
I think he can be a perennial 20+ PPG scorer in the Association.

HitsterParticipantHis draft stock dropped right down but in a few mocks he seems to be moving up again maybe rather like Rudy Gay in 2006. If he figures that the chances of a lockout are less than 50-50 then I would figure he’d declare. He may not go top 3 but could be a nice complimentary player for a team looking to rebuild around a young core or a team with multiple picks might trade up and take him.

yellowdunkerParticipantI dont belive he’s your franchise player at the moment but the potential is there in a couple years….as of right now he can be a solid starter for most teams depending on who there and what type of offense they run. but do to a lack of non-super stars in this draft he is most def a lotto pick.

jaysmith1987ParticipantHe could go anywgere from late lotto to early lotto in this draft depending how the scouts look at the season. They could say the first half of the seaspn was bad for him because the poor point guard play or they could think he needs another year. Me personally if he stays another year he goes top three like he is supposed to if he comes out this year he goes later in the lotto unless unc has big tournament but he pays off forever who drafts him. He is starting to show that grant hill type game people thought he had the only wuestion is does he play two or three in the pros either way hes at least future all star in my opinion. It” funny how big a diference point gaurd play affects a wing player.

apb540ParticipantAfter watching Perry Jones for the second or third time this year, I don’t see how anyone could rip Barnes and then turn around and praise PJIII. No doubt that come draft time Harrison Barnes is going to be the much safer pick between the two.

ilike.panochasParticipantLol.. The hype on this guy. And that dunk today wasn’t all that, it’s not as if he showed great elevation. He’s a solid prospect, he is a lottery prospect, but people who are still sniffing the same hype he came in from high school is mistaken.

omphalosParticipantHe wouldn’t be a top three pick next year, that class is stacked with talent; Gilchrist, Rivers, Davis, Miller… unless Barnes absolutely dominated in his second season people would be too wary of his shaky start to take him above the names given.
I think he declares this year, and I think he plays the SF in the NBA, though I would have said that about Gordon Hayward and he’s playing the 2 for the Jazz so it’s up in the air. I’m hoping he somehow ends up in Charlotte, but that doesn’t seem too likely as that pesky coaching change means they are making a push for the playoffs. Then again, he might drop that far if he and UNC do poorly in March.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantCompletely agree with apb.
Barnes > PJ3
Jones is looking like a one-dimensional face-up 4 while Barnes is much more versatile at the 3.

lalailaParticipantthought about moving him into late top10 on my board(or more possibly just take him out and believe he is 2012draftee) but now he is #5 on my board…still have Jones guys,Kyrie and Sully over him but number five is solid and i think he plays solid now, not a guy who scores 25 every game but i believe 18 and 6 is likely stats for the rest of the season

OhCanada-ParticipantHes te best SF of the draft, which automatically makes him a Top 5 Prospect. He is only getting better and better, is the best scorer of the draft as far as adapting to the NBA game goes, hes an incredible perimeter shooter, and hes not just a one trick pony. Alot of people underappreciate his efforts on the defensive end of the court, but NBA scouts will not overlook that.I dont see 5 better prospects then this young man, and I honestly dont know why people praised him as a great NBA scorer, compared him to Melo and now that hes back on track playing how we expected he is only capable of being a 2nd option for an NBA team. If he lands on LA, Toronto, Cleveland, Minni, Washington, New Jersey, Detroit, or any team that lacks a true 1st option he has a chance of being their first option in his rookie year. That team may not win a championship but then again, Utah never won one with Sloan and how many great teams did they lead into countless playoff battles.

gregoden08ParticipantHamilton is not a better prospect than Barnes. Hamilton is a high volume shooter who’s game probably won’t translate as well into the NBA. Barnes was much better as a freshmen than Hamilton was and is starting to play up to his potential. When he tightens up his handle and gains more confidence, he can develop into an all-star caliber player. The only person I’d take over Barnes is Kyrie.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantI’m just curious, were the expectations for him much higher than 15.5 PPG, 45.5 FG%, 36.4 3FG%, and 5.1 RPG he has been in ACC play while leading UNC to a position where they are battling Duke for first place?

Dale WorthingtonParticipantYes, they actually were.
I really like Barnes but I think people were expecting huge numbers along the lines of these comparable talents (all 1-and-doners):
Melo: 22 and 10
Durant: 26 and 11
Be Eazy: 26 and 12.5
