tjc23Participantthat would not be a good trade for the Grizzlies the number two pick will be worth more than perkins and warrick is better than powe and pruit

tli232Ok, Perkins is already one of the more intimidating shotblockers in the league. Thabeet’s no where near as tough as Perkins. Thabeet’s ceiling is not that much higher than what Perkins is giving you right now (9, 9, and 2). I’m sure most would agree that Thabeet’s ceiling in his prime is around 11, 12, and 3. Seriously, why would Boston take on so much risk for a player who will take a few years to develop so he can give you Perkins-like Production? And also, Perkins is only like 24, so he has room to grow too. Powe more or less gives you similar production to Warrick, if given the same minutes. Overall, this idea’s pretty bad. Don’t see a sane person making this trade.

rvirsalParticipanti think if this trade happens, the celtics would do it for the future. in 2-3 years, age and injuries would’ve caught up with the big 3 and their production would be lower on both ends of the court. thabeet could actually work, he can learn to be tough under KG (you know what he did to belinelli and calderon) and all he needs to do in his rookie season is to block and rebound. also, the development of the celtics was quicker with the big 3.
i’m not sure why the griz would do this trade. powe isn’t a starting-caliber pf (is coming of an injury), they have gasol at the 5 (who showed flashes of brilliance in some occassions). perkins has peaked, and is kinda limited offensively.
and btw, powe can’t be traded on draft day so this won’t happen.

millienstar32Participantnow why would grizzlies accept that trade?
that trade has all of the big mans and grizzlies have big mans and celtics need big mans for back up
so THIS TRADE WONT HAPPEN0 - AuthorPosts
