I read on HoopsHype that the Grizzlies plan to match any offer in the offseason. Despite that being a rumor website, it’s believable to me. Marc has a great future ahead of him. I honestly think he will end up being a top 5 center once he hits his prime. I see the grizz/ny/den rumor as well. I think about zbo and whether it’s worth to keep him around for a larger contract. It leads me to thinking though.

Rumor has it, mayo wants to play for a larger market/winning situation. DUH, makes sense doesn’t it? should the grizzlies trade mayo away for a younger pf to replace randolph? let’s be honest here, arthur will not be an all star or very effective starter. i believe arthur will always be a good role player, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

If we are to trade mayo for a young pf, who would it be? let’s say mayo does get traded to a winning situation/large market….aka the bulls, maybe? would mayo for gibson be a good deal for both teams? would you accept the trade if you were either team?

Should a trade go through to get a younger pf replacement, the rotation would be much easier on the grizzlies’ guards/fowards.  after all the trades – below is a possible roster for the rest of the year

    conely – vasquez

    henry – allen

    gay – young

zbo – gibson (or some other young pf) – arthur

    gasol – thabeet

How about, after the Knicks fail on Melo, Mayo for Randolph???  I want to see Mayo in NY really bad… I am not a fan of either but I do feel like it is a good match….

I’m a big Marc Gasol fan,but i doubt if he’ll ever be a top 5 center, even though right now he’s a top 10 center…If the Grizzlies are smart they’ll offer him an extension before the season is over..Alot of teams might be willing to overpay him 10 million a year..

I think their problem is poor team transition defense ,lack of good outside shooters and a point guard that lacks great court vision..

ZBo is their most important player ,every time they they really need a bucket ,they look to ZBo…I hope they resign him…He has said several times he’s willing to take a paycut to remain with the team…And he and Gasol work so well together…

If the Knicks miss on Carmelo, I fully expect them to go after Marc Gasol.

While I think a Taj for Mayo trade makes sense for both teams, I don’t see the Bulls pulling the trigger on that.  Taj is very important coming off the bench for Chicago and he has been vital with the injuries to Boozer and Noah.  If Memphis would take James Johnson and a 2nd round pick or two, than I think that is something the Bulls would do yesterday.  Johnson is a former mid 1st round pick, but isn’t seeing the floor for Chicago and needs a change of scenery.  The guy can play, given the opportunity.

marc is decent inside and if he was fed the ball more, things would look differently for him this season. his footwork is average. his rebounding is underdated, gay/zbo rebound the ball better this year. marc is an average ft shooter for a center. his passing ability is impressive. his on the ball defense could use some work. he is fully capable of growing into a top 5 center.

zbo is getting old. he isn’t athletic, and i’m worried about his knees due to his weight. i understand how valuable he is, i’m just looking towards the future

z-bo was never athletic. He is still their most productive player.

But still in my opinion they’ll never win anything with him. I think it’s their best bet to let him go and hope that the other guys (gay, conley, gasol, mayo) can handle it and step up.
