JDB12ParticipantWhat is the greater accomplishment? Steph’s 402 three pointers last season at a 45% clip, or Russ averaging a 30ppg triple-double.
Off the top of my head I would say Russ because that’s what’s happening right now and it involves three of the major statistics. But remembering how I felt last year when Steph knocked down that 400th three made me feel the same way, astonished. Both are unbelievable chapter’s in NBA history. Even two years ago, I believe that everyone would say both feats would have been next-to-impossible to reach. So I honestly think they are equally impressive. Even when guys like Reggie Miller and Ray Allen played, no one would have ever believed they would make near 400 threes. And even with players like Jason Kidd and LeBron, no one thought that averaging a triple double for an entire season would be possible. So I honestly have to just tip my hat to both players and give them a tie. And Steph has quietly backed up his shooting last year by being the first person to finish the season in the 300s. Excited to see what Russ will do next year!
What do you guys think is the more impressive achievement?

negguaryParticipantaveraging a triple double while leading the league in scoring by far is the greater accomplishment! Just the physical tole it takes to average 10 rebounds and have the only initiate the offense in itself is a feat it then to averages 10 assists which means your exerting even more energey to get guys open while Also leading the league in scoring! Not to mention he has Not missed a game something we also don’t see as much with superstars in this era. At times I don’t like westbrook but he’s cemented after this, PERIOD!

Memphis MadnessParticipantCrazy. Who was the last guy even to average 30 points and 10 rebounds? Shaq?
What about the last guy to even average 30 points and 10 assists? Tiny Archibald?
ESPN is also saying that Russellmania is the shortest guy to average 10 boards a game — EVER.
Possible that we see a guy get 100 in a game before we see another triple double season?
Oh, by the way, before the season started some posted on here predicted Russ averaging a triple double. Congrats!

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI feel like Stephs is a much more attainable record, something that was definitely going to happen in the coming decade or so with how 3 happy the league is getting. Averaging a triple double is something that not only takes an amazing player, but a perfect storm of circumstance. Doubt we see that happen outside of perhaps a repeat from Westbrook for a long time.

HitsterParticipantI think that Negguary nailed it when he said that to average a triple-double whilst leading the league in scoring is an amazing accomplishment. To go 30/10/10 is way harder than going 10/10/10 and not even Magic achieved that in one season in his career. To put this into context – Jason Kidd only had 3 seasons with more than 10apg in his career and he is regarded as one of the greatest PGs ever. Russell has achieved 10 apg as well as all his other feats this year.
Lets not forget James Harden is 29/8/11 but I think that if Russell doesn’t win MVP then it is a travesity.
