Bballfan123ParticipantHow come he never gets mentioned on here…He is 6’11”, is a great post defender and rebounder and has good shooting ability at the offensive end, im NOT saying he is Michigan States best player but he is probably there most important, they WOULD NOT be in the final four if he wasnt on the that team…Im not going to be one of those people who over rates players and say he should be a lottery pick (or even a first rounder) but he should get looks in the second round somewhere!!!! I just think its strange that ive never seen him mentioned on here!!
What do all of you think?

leftyballer24ParticipantThe boy is nice he straight shut down lousvilles bigs. he had 19 and 9 i think, hes not the greatest athlete but for a center who can bang and shoot and is a legit 6’11 im sure he can find a spot in the league, im thinkin nenad krstic meets mehmet okur but less perimeter oriented then okur.

ch15r36isParticipantSeeing as how he is such a big guy and can shoot as well as he does, I certainly think he belongs in the 2nd round, or should at least get a few looks from some teams for some Summer League stuff.
I think the question is if he would be able to defend/rebound well enough in the league.0 - Posted on: Mon, 03/30/2009 - 5:46am #144167
los2003Participantwell you must remember he’s basically a carbon copy of paul davis with less post skills and paul davis is still with the clippers but was a 2nd round pick if i’m not mistaken

DD2KParticipantWell, Davis was selected in the 2nd round by the Clippers, but his rights were renounced after his second season. But he re-signed with the Clippers, although they waived him and he is currently unemployed.
Davis averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds a game his finals season at MSU, Suton is averaging 10 points and 8 rebounds per game this season.
I agree that he has showed a lot during the Tourney, but if anything, he’s a surprise late second round pick.

TimberTrollParticipantI agree, I think he has a decent shot of being a good second round pick. I don’t think he’s a legit 6’11” though. He definetely a smart player though, and against Lousiville he looked like he has the ability to makes plays out of the high post and help the guards inbound the ball and bring it up the court. He had a career game shooting wise though, so I would caution against thinking he’s a great shooter. He shot 85% from the line though and 41% downtown, so the potential of being a Darius Songalia at the power forward and maybe Scalabrine at the small forward is there. He needs to prove he can rebound and move his feet defesively also.
