delfamParticipantI’m going to the Georgetown @ Temple game tonight and I’d like a scouting report of Georgetown from people who’ve seen them. I obviously know they have two great guards and Vaughn is pretty tough inside, but that’s all I know. What’s there strenghts and weaknesses?

TRC1991Participantaustin freeman- the big body guard for g’town…he can knock down the 3…not going to blow by anyone but he is a savvy veteran who has been a winner his entire time at georgetown…he is a great spot up shooter but not a guy you’ll see drive by someone en route to a slam
chris wright- the strong heady PG for the Hoyas…this guy is ridiculously clutch and a superbly athletic veteran…6’1” 210 lbs. sorta reminds me of Derek Fisher…he is a great creator for others and runs the team very efficiently
jason clark- the 3rd guard for Georgetown, he can stroke and hits big shots…he is a streaky shooter but a really crafty scorer…long-armed combo guard who can play both spots very well
temple
lavoy allen-tough double-double machine, he can score from inside but is sorta raw…wont scare teams from beyond 18 feet…is a terror in the paint…great at cleaning the glass

delfamParticipantI know about Temple, I’m a season ticket holder, just wanted Georgetown. Should be an interesting game, Temple’s one of the best teams at stopping 3-pointers and their interior defense is one of the best in the country. How is Georgetown on defense?

JNixonParticipantChris Wright is a strong penetrator with decent athleticism and good size and strength. He’s not a flashy playmaker, but he’s a smart decision maker and he doesn’t really do more than he’s supposed to running the offense. He’s not very quick or fast for NBA standards, but he’s decent enough for a college PG.
Austin Freeman brings his obvious shooting skills to the table. He also can take his man off the bounce by using his strength/fatness when his matchup gets on his hip. He’s not quick and he’s a mediocre leaper, but he is a deceptive athlete. He plays tough D at times by using his girth, but he can give up penetration to quick players.
Jason Clark defends the other team’s 3 man or best wing scorer. He is pretty quick and athletic, and he has a big wingspan for a guy that’s 6’2. Seems to be around like 6’8 or so. He also has a good spot-up shot. He’s not a great ball-handler or pure shot-creator, but he knows his limits and takes smart shots when he gets opportunities.
Julian Vaughn is a big bodied low post guy who makes basic plays down low when finishing. He’s rugged and strong, but he has a limited skill set and he’s not very athletic.
