Further Evidence That ESPN is Unwatchable

http://deadspin.com/espn-mentioned-tim-tebow-137-times-in-120-minutes-51...

ESPN mentions Tim Tebow 137 times in 120 minutes... or once every 52 seconds. Oh and this is during the NBA and NHL finals, so it isn't like there isn't anything else going on.

How many times did they

How many times did they mention LeBron? lol

LeBron, the Heat, Timmy Duncan, the Spurs have been getting plenty of love. I don't mind some other guy getting attention.

I think Tim Tebow is a solid football player. He won a playoff game in the NFL and he dominated in college. I think he will be ok with the Patriots as a backup QP, and then as a tight end and a full back.

Tebow is no super star, but he has "star" power which I think the NFL is lacking. The NFL doesn't have as much star power as the NBA. Brady, the Manning brothers, and that is about it. Robert Griffin III is a good one with star power, and looks like a marketing star for the future. But, there isn't much there. Tim Tebow is as marketable as anyone.

It was also the day off of the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup hasn't started yet. So, I guess that can be an excuse.

Now, it's back to LeBron, Wade, Duncan, Parker, Coach Pops, and the rest of the gang.

Apples and Oranges my man

Lebron = Best player in all of sports.

Tebow = 3rd best quarterback on his team

Sorry, but that is a huge difference.

He probably meant in the

He probably meant in the United States because Messi is probably the greatest of all time and the dude is barely 25.

Nope

I don't follow soccer at all. I should have went with athlete rather than player. Lebron is a freak of nature. Is this Messi fellow 6'8 270 AND the fastest guy with the ball from end to end?

ESPN covers what the public

ESPN covers what the public wants. Tebow is an altruist. Nobody likes LeBron because he's a dirt-bag. LeBron's dancing is hideous. Tebow is arguably better than Ryan Mallett, too. Nobody jumped on Tebow's bandwagon before his miraculous performance with the Broncos.

Well

Tim Tebow is going to the New England Patriots. That's 1A and 1B for ESPN's all time favorite talking points, converging in a perfect storm. What do you expect?

Don't get me wrong...

I definitely know that ESPN is going to talk about him. I just didn't know they would mention his name 137 times in 2 hours. Seems to be a bit excessive to me. The again, I'm not watching that crap, so they can show whatever they want.

Just another Tebow circus. I

Just another Tebow circus. I just wish he would have went to Jacksonville. I've liked Tebow since Florida but can't stand all the attention people give him, especially ESPN. Everytime I see Sal Paolantonio's face I just roll my eyes.

I agree with Velvet Hoop. Tim

I agree with Velvet Hoop. Tim Tebow has to be the most glorified underachiever in professional sports history. This guy creates a media circus being a 3rd string quarterback. Don't get me wrong I like Tebow. I like to root for the underdog. But you have to look at the facts, Football is without a doubt the most popular sport in America. NBA is 5th I believe. So any chance ESPN gets to throw some football in, they will. But just wait until the NBA finals ends. ESPN is going to be drier than the sahara desert. Unless you are a baseball fan.

Absolutely!

It could be right after ESPN "The Ocho" on the channel guide.

What else does the NFL have?

What else does the NFL have? They have, umm, Tom Brady, the Patriots, Coach Hoodie, and Tim Tebow. ESPN hit for the cycle yesterday. That's all.

I actually feel bad for the NFL.

It makes me appreciate the NBA Finals that much more. Especially this year's Finals.

The NBA Draft should even be better than the NFL's draft this year.

I actually feel worse for baseball. It is supposedly "America's pastime" but no one is talking about it. How do you think MLB feels by getting massively overshadowed by a 3rd string quarterback?

ESPN: good for live games but

ESPN: good for live games but so bad for reporting "news". (Unless it's TrueHoop or Grantland, I don't read much else from ESPN really.)

If you haven't checked out AwfulAnnouncing either, it's a really good blog for calling out bad reporting or, like their name says, announcing.

E! SPN or TMZSPN which ever

E! SPN or TMZSPN which ever you prefer isn't even a sports news network imo, they stick to the same topics and continue to push gimmicks in our faces which makes the shows unwatchable (see first take and DLHQ) they focus more on their pop culture sports hits such as Ochocinco and Tim Tebow while they could be using that time on maybe soccer coverage or lacrosse or something they don't cover everyday..

Belichick....

Belichick will kill Tebowmania by simply not wanting to talk about him.

ESPN is taking the same path

ESPN is taking the same path as MTV. There was a time when MTV was all about music. Now it's all about people in New Jersey and pregnant 15 year olds.

ESPN News is where it's at.
