220ParticipantSo ESPN is reporting that Markelle Fultz is once again out and waiting on the opinion of a shoulder specialist. He’s expected to see the specialist next week at some point. This just continues the most bizarre situation I can remember for a top prospect. Hopefully they schedule time with a sports psychologist as well. This whole thing is so terrible. Bryan Colangelo screwed the 76ers so badly in the Fultz deal.

BeastMode716Participant1st Summer League game was going to be the highpoint of Fultz’s career
Kings are playing well & just like last year when the Lakers pick would go to Boston if it fell between 2-5 but So many teams were tanking the pick ended up being #10 & reverted back to Phila. The Celtics will def get that Kings pick but b/c so many teams will be tanking down the Stretch it’s probably around #10 if not even lower in the teens
So the trade won’t be quite as bas as we thought but just Tatum for Fultz straight up is awful. Elton Brand cleaned up a lot of that mess w/ the Butler trade & Phila still has a ton of Cap space + all their own 1st Rnd picks & some other picks from other teams – so Phila has leverage to make even more deals
But they Must dump Fultz so they can use that salary in Free Agency – he got Benched last night against Phoenix & it looks like he’s throwing a tantrum w/ the make believe shoulder injury.
I am born & raised in the inner city & I can tell you in my culture men Do not & Will not admit to mental issues – I’m not saying it’s right but it is the way it is & this is Killing Fultz b/c until he just Admits he’s mentally Jammed up & stops w/ this ridiculous should injury excuse he’s never going to get better
They got video of Fultz going ALl the way back to last year of him throwing the ball the Length of the court w/ his right arm like a QB, all year this year he’s been attacking the rim well & trying to Dunk on opponents so there is no shoulder injury
What a Mess & now they can’t even try to trade him. I wonder if they shut him down for the year b/c he’s a Major distraction at this point.

IndianaBasketballParticipantA lot of people are saying it’s mental, but I can’t speak on it because I’m not familiar with his injury at all.
I just hate to see this happening to the kid. After working with Drew Hanlen all summer, I thought he’d move past this issue.
Clearly something is wrong. I just hope they figure it out. I’d hate to see all of his talent wasted.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWow . . . Apparently Fultz & Hanlen had a falling out & haven’t spoken in over three weeks. Nobody knows for 100% sure why, but some are saying a person from Fultz’s camp confronted Hanlen about a lack of results.
In a (now deleted) tweet, Hanlen wrote Fultz still isn’t healthy.
Who knows what the hell is going on.

220ParticipantThe only good thing would be if they actually find something they can fix, but I doubt there’s anything. Fultz looks like a total bust and I have little confidence he ever becomes the player people thought he could be.

r377ParticipantLooks like Kobyz got this one right about Fultz being not that good. He got a minus -26 for it

BKGingerSnapParticipantI don’t think its mental or physical Fultz, to me it seems far likely its about character and not really caring that much at basketball. Fultz clearly has NBA talent. He can quite easily get in the paint and he has prototype size. His shooting, while terrible, is still better than Ben Simmons. What’s striking is that almost no on Philly is backing him right now. They all lost confidence in him. This is a team that held Embiid out for like 3 years. they are patient. When I watch Fultz play, it really seems like he doesn’t care and doesn’t want to fight for his spot on the roster. Like having a bad free throw form, while incredibly frustrating from a coaching perspective, is nowhere near is pathetic as that free throw he took where he didn’t settle the ball in his hands before clanking it.
If you’re Brett Brown, is this the guy you really want to give minutes when you have McConnell he plays with so much heart clearly plays well with the team. And now you have Jimmy Butler and his impact on team mates is well documented. Why bother with daycare when you have a team that can really win the east?

MopgrassParticipantAgreed. Let’s hope this specialist also checks between his ears.
