halfdecayedParticipantSuns are in serious talks eith Ariza. The hell they gonna do with Bridges Jackson and Ariza all together lol
0- Posted on: Sat, 06/30/2018 - 6:43pm #1120939
ZouldiersParticipantIt’s official: Ariza to Suns for 1yr/15M
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/30/2018 - 6:52pm #1120951
220ParticipantThey still have TJ Warren as well who was one of their best players last year. That’s a lot of small forwards. It’s not like one of them will play big minutes at shooting guard since Booker will see the bulk of the minutes there. Perhaps they’ll all see minutes at power forward.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 5:12am #1120996
CynthiaParticipantAriza could play some 2-4, maybe Warren & Jackson too in pinches. I feel like in today’s game having too many SF’s isn’t all that bad, it’s probably the most versatile position. It will be interesting to watch for sure, they’re slowly becoming a good team and it’s about time. They haven’t been good since Nash & Amare which feels like forever ago.

0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 4:00am #1120990
rvan14ParticipantThat would be a perfect fit. Rondo brings defense, playmaking, and can set up everyone else. I don’t like Booker moving over to PG which ESPN is predicting after the Ariza signing. Right now PHX is looking at Brandon Knight and Elli Okobo at PG

halfdecayedParticipantBelineli back to the spurs 2 years 12 milions.. Sixers lost Belineli and Ilyasova both were very important in their success last year.. Its boston conference now.
0- Posted on: Sat, 06/30/2018 - 7:03pm #1120956
ZouldiersParticipantI guess they don’t trust the process enough
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/30/2018 - 7:09pm #1120959
220ParticipantHonestly while it’s disappointing to see the Sixers lose Belinelli and Ilyasova they were largely ineffective against Boston. Belinelli struggled to get his shot off and was inadequate defensively. Ilyasova did somewhat better, but he probably wanted a longer term deal that the 76ers likely weren’t willing to offer. Bringing back the same team wasn’t going to beat Boston especially with a healthy Irving and Hayward. Only a star would make a huge difference in that matchup and if they can’t get that the 76ers are better off continuing to develop their youth rather than overpay guys that will limit their cap space long term without being enough to get them over the top.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 5:08am #1120995
Sewok15ParticipantThey were both bad in the Boston series. Ersan had one good game and Belineli made one big shot (which had it been a 3 instead of a 2 the Sixers win that game). The athleticism of Boston exposed some of the Sixers weakness on the wing…which is why they drafted somebody like Smith. He isn’t the shooter that Marco is but when the shots aren’t dropping he is just an awful defender that doesn’t really help the team.
Ersan does the dirty work but he was so cold from the outside at the end of last year I was hoping they would give some of his minutes to Richaun Holmes.
Both players can still contribute but in no way does this makes it Boston’s conference for sure now. Maybe if they trade Kyrie for Kawhi but as it stands now the Sixers have a shot. They just need to add a defensive wing who can open shots.
Boston ran their offense thru which ever player had the mismatch…they just need to eliminate those mismatches (Reddick and Marco) and they will all be tight games.

The GoatParticipantWhat are the Suns doing? Is it Booker at point and depth chart like this below?
Booker/Okobo, Jackson/Bridges, Warren/Ariza, Chriss/Bender, Ayton/Chandler
0- Posted on: Sat, 06/30/2018 - 7:37pm #1120963
Lotto StudParticipantDoes this means Brandon Knight gets traded since you have Devin Booker slates at the point guard?
0- Posted on: Sat, 06/30/2018 - 8:41pm #1120970
The GoatParticipantWell, i dont know what they are doing, thats why i asked.. They just signed and drafted two more small forwards and dont have a starting PG so i asked whether the plan is to start Booker at the 1.
Brandon Knight has been hot & cold at best everywhere he has played, and at times he has been poor. Hes now overpaid and coming off serious injury. You’d have a hard time trading him for Luol Deng right now. He may have backup PG minutes early depending on who starts, but theyll tail off once Okobo gets his feet wet.

- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 5:53am #1120998
Evan_MilbergParticipantThey’ve got to trade Warren for a natural PG. I think a Warren for Dennis Schroder trade makes sense for both the Suns and Hawks.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 10:32am #1121011
HitsterParticipantSchroder is a good PG but as a Suns fan I’d certainly prefer Rondo as he is more of a pass first PG and with all this young talent the Suns will need someone to create for them.
Ariza is a good veteran presence to have on the team along with Tyson Chandler plus he knew he wouldn’t get anything like this type of money with the Rockets. He already has a title so maybe just decided to take a payday. It’s only a one year deal so is low risk for each side.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantI hear the Lakers r interested in Javale McGee if they can’t get Boogie or Capela. The Lakers would be a Bigger Laughingstock than Javale MCGee if he’s the only free agent they get this Summer! lmao!!
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 12:15pm #1121016
OhCanada-ParticipantEvery year the Lakers make all this noise about every free agent going there but nothing happens. Only signing Javale Mcgee obviously isnt the goal but I think it would be a decent low budget move for any team. He’s improved a ton while with GSW. He shot 73% from the free throw line this year and usually shoots around 50% throughout his career. He’s also only 30 despite being in the league forever. Low risk high reward signing that could bring a team their own Clint Capela.

Lotto StudParticipantThe Lakers might as well toss the max to Jabari Parker, if they decide to let Julius Randle walk. I believe Aaron Gordon will be matched; Jabari Parker will not be.

0
- Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 1:10am #1121164
CynthiaParticipantSo unless they have something else up their sleeve, I just don’t understand what’s going on in LA. You get your man in LeBron then follow up with possibly his most annoying ear blowing nemesis in Stephenson and an air head in JaVale McGee.
So LeBron is now playing with a bunch of college kids and two of the most notorious knuckleheads in the league (and LeBron thought JR Smith was bad).
If they don’t land a trade for Kawhi then they will be lucky to be 4/5th place in the West, this team is not good even with LeBron. If they add Cousins they just have another knucklehead. This is going to be the Trollshow not the Lakeshow.
I’m not even a Laker hater, I just genuinely don’t understand the moves by both LeBron and the Lakers.
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 3:09am #1121173
220ParticipantI don’t think Lebron is as worried about winning a title as he was before. I think he went to LA to make the best move for his family and his off the court ventures. LeBron has to know how difficult it will be to win in the West and while he undoubtedly wants to win it’s no longer his top priority otherwise he would have stayed in the East.
Top players always manage to draw other players to them, often for less than they are worth. It will be interesting to see what the Lakers roster looks like when the season starts.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 9:42am #1121218
OhCanada-ParticipantThose are better moves then the Cavs ever made. They just got two solid rotation guys for $6 million. I think Stephenson and Mcgee are an upgrade over Smith and Thompson and those two cost $31 million. Sure they have their problems but you get what you pay for.

r377ParticipantThe Kings, who were said to have interest in Zach LaVine before free agency officially began, may still be eyeing the restricted free agent, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
During a conversation with colleague Bobby Marks on his podcast, Wojnarowski suggested on Wednesday that LaVine may be the best bet of the remaining restricted free agents to receive a lucrative offer sheet. According to Woj, the Kings have been “pretty serious” about LaVine and still have approximately $18-20MM in cap room to make an offer, if they so choose.
The Bulls still have plenty of cap flexibility and could comfortably match a four-year, $80MM offer for LaVine. However, an offer sheet in that range would put some pressure on the Bulls, who reportedly preferred to bring back their RFA guard on an average annual salary closer to $14-16MM. Given the tepid market for restricted free agents so far, Chicago may have been hoping to get an even more team-friendly deal.
LaVine is one of several notable restricted free agents who has yet to reach a contract agreement so far, joining Clint Capela, Jabari Parker, Marcus Smart, and Jusuf Nurkic, among others. It’s not clear if the Kings are considering offer sheets for any of those other players — the team was reportedly eyeing Parker earlier in free agency, but he may no longer be a Sacramento target.
