jdstormParticipantare there any trades, that you wanted to happen before free agency that played out differently. for better or worse.
Mine Was an Al Jefferson senerio.
Minnesota was going to trade Jefferson and picks 17 and 23 to detroit for Tayshaun prince, charlie V and pick 6.
Also in this scenario darko doesn’t get signed, and beasley goes to a different team.
If i ran the twolves, id rather have picks cousins, pick 6 and charlie V as opposed to a trade exception that my team cant use cause its under the cap. Darko Milicic, Michael beasley and that other random euro center.

NorthernLights666ParticipantIt’s just the same as being under the cap for that amount of money when you’re as far under the cap as the Wolves are. For instance the Wolves wouldn’t need the trade exception because they’re so far under the cap they could basically trade for anybody and not have to send any return contracts back. Works the same way as the Trade Exception.

NorthernLights666Participantcontracts in return for Jefferson, I don’t think in any scenario they would’ve done that Charlie V/ Prince/ 6th pick trade for Jeff and their two later picks. The Wolves would’ve definitely gotten the upper hand in that trade in regards to talent, but they don’t want the constraints of taking any long terms contracts (Charlie V) back. Now let’s say they they had a guarantee Wes Johnson is there at 6 then maybe just maybe they would’ve done it.

jdstormParticipantKinda Stupid.
they are paying more for darko, and that other euro center, for more years then they would have been paying for Vilaneuva. They would have had 2 top 6 picks again, where provided they didn’t draft another ill fitting PG they could really do no wrong.
They would be better off had they done it.
