The 2013-’14 Florida Gators could be a pre-season Top 10 next year. Billy’s Boys will feature an ultra-athletic frontline with size and quickness and a potentially young, explosive backcourt. Although they lose three starting seniors, including leading scorer Mike Rosario and two four-year contirbutors in Kenny Boynton and Erik Murphy, the Gators should not worry too much over the summer. With the recent announcement of Patric Young’s return for his senior year and the addition of two top flight prospects in Kasey Hill and Chris Walker as well as tranfer Dorian Finney-Smith (Virginia Tech), things are looking quite promising in Gainesville. After playing small on the wing the past few years and coming up short of the Final Four (3 straight Elite Eights) will Donovan return to a more tradional lineup using size or feature three guards (2 PG’s possibly) on the perimeter again?

*A fascinating note of interest – Despite being three graduating classes ahead, senior Scottie Wilbekin (4/5/93) is only 8! months older than incoming freshman Kasey Hill (12/3/93).

I’m excited to see Finney-Smith this year. I expect Chris Walker to be One & Done he reminds me of Amir Johnson.

Seeing what I’ve seen from Chris Walker, I doubt he starts as a freshman. He has a lot to learn.
Yeguete should be starting next to Young. Hopefully DFS has used this transfer yr to improve his shooting because they’re gonna need another shooter to go along with Frazier. Given the makeup of their roster I think they”ll be playing a more pressing/trapping style to generate transition buckets. DFS and Harris should improve their defense immediately. Their freshmen though are overrated IMO and will take a yr to adjust. Good to see you having Wilbekin starting over Hill which should be the case. Wilbekin has improved dramatically since his freshman yr and should be one of the better PGs in the SEC next yr.

I could definately see them starting Yeguete at the four. Or maybe even Finney-Smith at PF with Frazier/Prather at the 3 and Wilbekin & Hill in the backcourt generating a lot pressure (like Louisville this year) with their speed and quickness. Either way I think this will be one of the more dangerous teams in 2014. After a down year in talent im excited and can’t wait for CBB next season!

I think their starting lineup will be:

    C- Patric Young
    PF- Dorian Finney-Smith
    SF- Casey Prather
    SG- Michael Frazier
    PG- Scottie Wilbekin

    off the pine
    PG- Kasey Hill
    G- Braxton Ogbueze
    F- Will Yeguete
    F/C – Chris Walker
    F/C – Damontre Harris

Billy is going to have so many different options though…LOTS of versatility here

I doubt Finney-Smith plays PF, that’s one of the reasons why he wanted out at Tech.

    scottie wilbekin
    Dorian finney-smith
    chris walker

any starting line-up is plausible donovan has used three guard line-ups frequently. Boynton was a chucker though he hit big shots. team should benefit from having more shots to go around. I dead ass don’t believe chris walker though, he’s just like ol girl said amir johnson. He will be one and done and fall in the draft.

DFS is about to kill! He should’ve picked Florida coming out of HS anyway. I watched him in HS and he made that Norcom team (public HS in Portsmouth, VA) a nationally ranked HS. Kid can guard and play position 1-4.

I’m actually surprised he didn’t get recruited as a 1 or 2 coming out of HS.
