I woke up this morning and scrolled my news feed on Facebook and 1 status in particular took me by surprise. I don’t know whether it was because he is riding the wave or because he actually believe it’s true.

The status said….. “Step Curry da best PG”

My immediate reply was that he is not better than Kyrie.

    Am I wrong?

I know Curry shoots it better and his numbers in other areas are a shade better, but is Curry actually better than Kyrie to you all on the forum?

I think we had this same question a little bit ago and for the most part it seemed 50/50. You know how it is though when one guy goes off then he is better and then one guy will get hurt and whatever. I think as far as their total package and potential they are very close. They are both offensive minded point guards who have real tight handles, really efficient scoring from all over, bad on D and injury prone. They both have serious star potential though so idk if I can pick between them.

This season it is Stephen Curry, but both healthy, Kyrie has the higher upside.

Well let’s check out the numbers…
Curry is at 24pts, 9 asts, 2.2 steals per playoff game
Irving is at 0.0pts, 0.0 asts, 0.0steals per playoff game.

Curry advancing to the second round and Irving at home watching the games. ????????????? I think right now, Curry is winning!

You can make arguments for both of them but this kind of comparison is really stupid to me. Steph is setting the Nuggets on fire the whole first round and might be overvalued a bit right now cause people forget he is one ugly ankle roll away from being sidelined for a few weeks and might miss 15 to 20 games for the next couple of seasons per year. Kyrie wasn’t exactly invincible till now but the Cavs tanked big time after Irving was banged up and they pulled him out to get a better pick.

Well I’m a bit biased being a duke fan. But I think kyrie will be better. Curry is the better shoot but kyrie is still a good shooter as well and IMO I think kyrie has the best handle in the NBA, curry has a really good handle as well. But kyrie is a few years younger and I think he will ultimately be the better playmaker once he gets more players around him. Hard to make a decision though they are both really good and I GS for a long time has been one of favourite teams so it’s great to see them with a star player and win in the playoffs, there fans really deserve it.But in the end I would take kyrie

I will take whichever one will stay healthy and play the most games. Both are in my top 5 favorite players right now. Watching Curry shoot lights out is so exciting, but watching Irving dominate and being so clutch is also fun to watch. If I were starting a team from scratch I would flip a coin and be happy either way.

If both are healthy, I’d take Curry at this point. He’s a better shooter, at least on par passing, and he can’t be a worse defender.

On another message board, someone was trying to argue that Curry is better right now than Steve Nash was in his prime and that Curry is more capable of carrying a team. I thought that was kind of asinine, but you know how it is; when a guy blows up in the playoffs, it takes his perception to a whole other level (not saying Curry wasn’t great before this playoff run at all, just saying these conversations are a result of how well he’s played in the playoffs).
