Andrei Kirilenko would have to opt into his contract for this to happen.

Minnasota would trade Andrei Kirilenko, Brandon Roy and Memphis’ first rounder(25th) to the Lakers for Pau Gasol.

Why for Minnasota? Pau Gasol is a talented 4/5 who Ricky Rubio would to play with(as he has stated).
Minnasota loses little in this trade.

Why for Lakers? Andrei Kirilenko would be perfect for D’Antoni’s offence while saving them cap room because of wording in Brandon Roy’s contract about previous injury to his knees he will be waived (Roy’s contract was reported worded such that if he didn’t play much due to a pre-existing knee issue (which is the case) his $5.3 million for next season is not guaranteed). The Lakers save lots of money and can use the amnesty provision on another player.

    Salaries 2013/14: Andrei Kirilenko $10,219,420, Brandon Roy $5,329,500 25th pick $925,100
    Pau Gasol $19,285,850

    Laker receive:$16,474,020

    Twolves receive:$19,285,850

    Your thoughts?

What about Kevin Love and Pek. Don’t think Pau would like coming off the bench again. Plus 19 mil is alot to pay a bench guy.

Nikola is going to get thrown alot of money. Obviously this is If he didn’t return. I could see a sign and trade with Nikola and Nicolas Batum.

Maybe if you throw in D Williams too the Lakers would take it.

Would want kirilenko or Roy. I mean Kirilenko is another OLD and AGING player while the lakers are trying to get young it doesn’t make sense to trade a great PF for kirilenko. And Roy has those degenerating knees that just can’t hold up. The only way I see this trade happening is if Kevin live is in the deal or Williams and a 1st round pick

Roy would be waived 2013/14 lakers could look like this

      Starters:
      Steve Nash
      Kobe Bryant (once healthy)
      Earl Clarke
      Andrei Kirilenko
      Dwight Howard

      Bench:
      Steve Blake
      Jodie Meeks
      (25th Pick)
      Antawn Jamison
      Jordan Hill

Brandon Roy can’t stay healthy and AK47 being good in D’antoni’s system is irrelevant because I doubt he will be there next year. The lakers dont need to do anything but get younger and develop their bench. Phill Jackson will work wonders with pau and d12 next year. Why would the lakers want more injury prone players..

Man, all of the trade ideas posted here are either terrible for both teams, or completely one-sided. The only way the lakers do that is as a pure salary dump, and even then they could get more for Pau from someone else. AK’s best years are behind him and his skills have eroded, and Brandon Roy is pretty much used up at this point. So basically youre trading Pau for the 25th pick and cap relief. I say they just friggin find a way to use Pau effectively. The guy is a great player. there has got to be a way. If not, surely they can fetch a better haul for him. and why does minny do this exactly, other than the fact that in this fake trade the lakers are basically giving him away? Minnesota needs a SG, some kind of reliable wing scorer who isnt a black hole on defense and can stretch the floor. a huge chunk of their post minutes are accounted for with the guys they got, especially if they think Derrick Williams can still be a useful piece.
