llperezyou guys watching this? Duke is up 39-35 as i type this with 2 minutes remaining in the first half. But derrick williams is absolutely beasting. He has 22 points on 7-10 shooting and 4-5 from 3 point land and 5 boards with 3 steals and 1 block. Duke still gets way too many easy shots and i highly doubt dwill can carry arizona unless the wildcats step up defensively as a team.

SteroidParticipantYeah Duke is getting it on the offensive boards. Too many tip ins and layups.

BKKnicksfanParticipantI wrote that: Arizona plays little to no defense.
A little piece in the game: Derrick Williams outran Seth Curry on a steal down the court. He’s a monster

llperezwhat do you mean "you wrote that"? No offense, but arizona has played no defense since november, i wouldnt pat myself on the back for "writing that".

Dale WorthingtonParticipantFreak athlete, elite size, can pop 3s at will.
#1 overall pick.
LOL at that tards a few weeks ago who said that DWill is a 4 at the next level.
You put him at the 4 and you have a decent player.
You put him at the 3 and you have a potential superstar.
Oh yeah…
25 points at the half (5/6 from 3) and 6 REBs.

llperezdale, im still one of those tards who thinks dwill will be a 4. His strength is taking slower 4’s off the dribble and as good as his 3 point shooting is, he is more a set shooter then off the dribble. I think he will be a 4 who spaces the floor and runs the court. Put him at 3, then his shooting, speed, ball handling all dont quite look so impressive.

llperezoh yeah, and great f’ng game too. tied up at 53-53.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/24/2011 - 5:25pm #513435
Dale WorthingtonParticipantPut him at the 4 and he’ll have some trouble banging with those big bodies.
At the 4, all you’re doing is giving him less space to work with (the last thing you want out of a guy with that much range and bounce).
People said the same thing a few years back about Beasley being a 4 and it made zero sense to me.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantllperez, sorry for using the word ‘tards’ btw. You mah boi and I didn’t mean it that way.

llperezill take dwills size weakness as a 4 and counter it with all the positives he brings as a 4 to off set those weaknesses. As a 3, his strengths just dont stand out.
And i know everyone loves to compare him to beasley, but i dont see it other then they are tweeners who dominated college. Beasley is a much slower offesnive player who needs time to operate. DWill is one or two dribles max, he either has a play or he passes it. He never pounds the rock. He will be a good weapon as a finisher. Beasley just wasnt a finisher, he needed time to create his shot and dominate the ball and thats why he fits better as a 3 becasue he gets more space to use his time and take his man.

The lake show2So is Singler fast as well because Derrick beat seth down court and Singler beat Derrick down court lol. But seriously this is a good game and Derrick is killing the bum sauce brothers. They can jump but they are not good defenders. Kyrie is also punishing out there

ghettosermonParticipantMo Mo is balling right now!! Loved him at Oak Hill glad to see him playing this well, never thought he’d be a full time point. 0 turnovers tonight, extremely impressive for a guy who’s a natural 2 guard.

The lake show2Damn that was a nice Block
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/24/2011 - 5:45pm #513444
Dale WorthingtonParticipantSingler beat Derrick down because Derrick didn’t want to overrun the ball.
Signature moment right there on that dunk.
DWill, #1 overall.

llperezlakeshow, you still think dwill has absolutely zero chance of going number 1?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/24/2011 - 5:46pm #513446
Toronto16ParticipantLooks like Duke is going to lose. Hopefully the next basketball game Kyrie Irving plays will be in a Raptor uniform.

The lake show2Asked it once and ill ask it again. Why the hell do some scouts say he is a below average athlete?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/24/2011 - 5:47pm #513448
PaulsJayhawksParticipantHe is a beast inside and out! That dunk was sick..

KayjayParticipantDraft Derrick Williams, my goodness. GOOD GOD DID YOU JUST SEE THAT DUNK?!?! OMG

llperezif i could, i would change this thread title to duke vs arizona since its a team effort now. But at the time i started it, it was pretty much duke vs dwill. Pac 10 in the house!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/24/2011 - 5:49pm #513452
The lake show2If a team has a point guard yeah but if not Irving still the top pick. He can not only score but make others better. missed 26 games and he’s still beasting. But Derrick can go number two or three (I still pick Sullinger two)
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/24/2011 - 6:10pm #513453
The lake show2Are they ever gonna call those fouls. Duke is either holding or grabbing Derrick when he gets the ball or tries to post up

llperezarizona has swagger. Every single guy on the team plays with confidence. DWill is the motor who makes them run and ignites confidence, but top to bottom tehy have guys who arent afraid to make plays.
and considering how well washington and ucla fought tough tough unc/florida teams in the second round and washingotn state is in the the final 4 of the nit and zona moving into the elite 8 of the big dance , can we now drop the pac 10 sucks talk?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/24/2011 - 7:06pm #513469
Dale WorthingtonParticipantYeah, that’s true.
The Pac-10 has certainly impressed.
I wouldn’t mind Klay Thompson coming back for Wazzu and some big dawgz coming back for UCLA.
Would give the Pac-10 (Pac-12 next year) a really strong top 4.

burningfloodParticipantIt’s too bad, because an Irving-Kemba or Nolan-Kemba matchup would’ve been sick.

mikeyvthedonParticipantHis best game of the year in my opinion. Just a man amongst boys. It was funny, because at the beginning of the game Kyle was going shot for shot with him, but Derrick took it too a whole other level as the game progressed. He is obviously a great shooter, though I still wonder if his 3 point shooting is real, it is almost too good to be true. Still, that shot he hit to end the half was amazing and he just kept hitting big shot after big shot. His energy was outstanding and propelled his team. Completely dominant performance. Duke’s defensive intensity vanished as the game went on, and when Momo Jones and Jamelle Horne made some big baskets, they almost seemed flustered. Amazing game and I think this shows that Derrick Williams is in the fight for the first pick, most definitely.

OhCanada-ParticipantWilliams just keeps improving everything, constantly. Instant impact player at the professional level imo, and could develop into a great player. Anyone who watched that game saw a handful of things weve been waiting to see from Williams like, ball handling, range, speed, stregth, constant effort and aggressivness, defense, this kid is the whole package. Only player I see going ahead of him is Barnes. Imo Irving is not at their level.

PureshooterParticipantOne thing that popped into my mind last night was how much Scheyer meant to Duke last year. He was always in control and helped maintain tempo, but once Duke got behind last night they seemed to completely lose their composure. With Arizona hitting threes like they were (60%) Duke was having to close out on everything, giving Arizona plenty of driving lanes.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/25/2011 - 5:18am #513539
The lake show2Not just Schyer but Zobeck. It was weird seeing Duke give up. They didnt have that same hustle around the 5min mark and they started taking dumb shots( which is very unlike them)
