Mad MaxParticipantVery valuable piece to Golden st with every thing he does. He’s due to be a free agent and is going command a hefty salary, I believe he’s a rfa so golden st can match but here are my questions I ask
how much do you expect Green to get?
how much is he actually worth? Ie: Is he a player who’s been made better because of the team and system or will he be able to be the same player on a lesser team?
Who are some possible landing spots for Green outside Golden st?
obviously the Warriors want him back, but do you think they can bring him back at the max? Can/will they be able to dump salary (Lee, Bogut, Igudala)?

ChoppyParticipantI think some team like Detroit or New York with a ton of cap room will make him a max or near max offer. Dunno if he deserves max, but he will get something near it. GS will have a difficult decision on its hands to match or not.

DolanCareParticipantIf Detroit management has a brain, they will throw the biggest contract they can muster at Draymond Green. I couldn’t think of a better complement to Drummond than Draymond.
Defensively they are perfect: Drummond the shot blocking paint protector. Green the most versatile defender out there who is built to defend stretch 4s.
Offensively it’s perfect too. Well as perfect as an offense can be with Drummond. Green stretches the floor, gviing Drummond space and is an elite passer who can find Drummond in his best spots.
If Detroit is able to draft Stanley Johnson or Hezonja, they will actually have the frontcourt that Dumars could only dream of.

tblazer_NZParticipantHe is only shooting .337 from three this year. That is below the league average of .350
Detroit would need another shooter on the wing as Reggie Jackson is a poor 3pt shooter.

B-ball fanParticipantAnd he doesn’t just hit shots, but he passes and can handle the ball. So, at PF, he can still help floor spacing. Monroe, the current PF, isn’t good shooting from anywhere outside the lane.
If KCP and Meeks can get their shots on track, Detroit could be a fine shooting team. KCP and Meeks can come off screens and occupy defensive attention, while everybody else (Jackson/Dinwiddie at PG, Butler/draft pick at SF, Green/Tolliver at PF) would attract some defensive attention from the perimeter.

BiggysmallsParticipantWho’s to say what any NBA player is "worth" these days. There’s no consistency to what guys get paid and basically if you are under 30 in your prime you could come close to a max contract. They need to do away with Max contracts but have a hard cap, make GM’s actually think and be able to do math so guys like LeBron and Durant aren’t in the same money bracket as guys like Chandler Parsons/Gordon Hayward and in all liklihood, Draymond Green.
He’s a star role player. He’s like a Boris Diaw type guy who does a lot of things well but if you are asking him to be a top line guy, he isn’t going to be able to.
Idk how he would fit with Detroit given they don’t really have a scoring option to take the pressure off him. Drummond is a garbage man. Jackson is ok. KCP is alright. Who’s taking the shots for that team? Unless you play like the Hawks/Spurs where its an equal opportunity bit.

Mr. HookShotParticipantSome team will throw the max at him, and it will not be his own team obviously. However, I can see GSW pick up some other player who plays like Green (Crowder?) to replace his production.

Sharp ShooterParticipantI hate the fact the people want draymond green to come to detroit. Yes he went to MSU, doesn’t mean he needs to come to detroit. Same goes for Trey burke, People still ride that bandwagon.
Its all about how he fits with the team. Yes, he’s a stretch four and can guard multiple positions. But his 3 pt. % is below avg. and anyone who watched the pistons games knows their main weakness is 3 pt shot. KCP is wildy incosistent. Drummond cant operate past 10 ft, Jackson is incosistent. their SF is unknown. And if they get stanley J it only hurts their 3pt % .
If anyone one they should go after Love. Butler. Middleton.Harris. Even make a run at KG for a leadership, dfense, floor spacing and teaching.

natevalParticipantI could see the Celtics overpaying for a guy like him in the offseason

RUDEBOY_Participanti love watching him play…he seems like a great kid, coachable,a great teammate, really enjoys playing the game and a hardworker…
but if i was a gm the most i’ll offer him would be a 1 year deal maybe worth 10 million to see how he performs outside of the warriors system…..

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantHis skill set is very valuable in today’s NBA. Some team will offer him a nice long term deal. I don’t think the warriors will let him get away though even if it means going over the cap to resign him. His versatility is essential to the way they play, both offensively and defensively, and he’s also their emotional leader and brings a grit and toughness they were previously lacking.
