nateoak10ParticipantHis trade rumors have died down but by no means has anyone said he’s super happy in Nola. Does he still want to leave in your guys’ opinion? Does he want a big market team?
Just a list of the big market areas in the US, lots of NBA teams in these areas. If he want a big market look in the top 10 (NY, LA, CHI, WAS, BOS, GSW, PHI, DAL, HOU, ATL
NY: Obvious choice for him to go to, go play with Stat and maybe Melo is obviously attractive
LA: With the Lakers he would make them the best team in the NBA by far but how would a ball dominant PG fit in a triangle? With LAC he could be with Griffin and throw as many oops as he wants
CHI: Would Rose be a 2?
BOS: With Rondo I dont see it
GSW: Remember Monta and him in the rookie sophmore game tear it up? Thatd be the best back court in the NBA but what to do with Curry? Make a trade package around him? Sign CP3 as a FA then trade him? Lots of questions
PHI: With Iggy likely out either now or in the offseason getting a new franchise face would be good but how good will Holiday be?
DAL: Very good fit with Dirk, Kidd will retire soon but will Dallas be getting too old?
HOU: Will they be in full rebuild mode?
ATL: Same as Houston since they have no cap space and are stuck as a middle of the pack eastern playoff team

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantIt’s too soon to move him but in a year and a half all bets are off. The nba has taken control of the hornets but that team is doomed. I see them losing David West in free agency and cp3 soon after.

torontoraptors10ParticipantWhere is Toronto and their 35 million people support group?? Not to mention Toronto already has a population of 5 million, that is a big market.

Moon RiverParticipantD. Rose moving to the SG position in Chicago or Paul with the Celts. However, CP3 with the Clips would fun to watch.

HitsterParticipantSome of the biggest markets don’t have the teams with the biggest market value or the dynasty that lots of teams have. Anyone trading for CP3 would probably want assurances that he will resign with them so perhaps leaving him in-situ until 2012 would be the best for all parties. Nash and Kidd will both be out of contract then and may well retire or move on, Deron Williams, Chauncy Billups,Andre Miller and Ray Felton will also be all definitely be FA’s unless their team’s extend them before hand and we should know how well Rose, Wall and Rondo are really stacking up against the likes of Deron and CP3.
The NBA have to run NOH as an ongoing concern but any contract offers will almost have to be the going rate or maybe on the lower side as paying above or below the odds could really affect the team. David West could not justify an offer of say $60 million over 4 years but is worth much more than MLE.
What David West does may well depend on how CP3 views his future because if West his main running mate since he joined the team moved on and with NOH not realistically being able to spend the amount required to get a 20ppg big man to replace him then I could not see CP3 wanting to remain in NOH long term. Also with CP3 being such a good player then unless the team had a bit of luck in the draft lottery they will never be bad enough only to be a 25 or less win team and have a real shot at the very top talent in the lottery like when they got CP3 after a 18-64 season in 2004-05.
I’d guess that the NBA would look to try and keep CP3 with NOH until 2012 as minus him, attendances will fall and thus the team is worth a lot less and any buyer would surely see CP3 as the team’s main selling point.

BKKnicksfanParticipantI LOL when I saw this.
He is NOT going to Golden State man. I laughed even more at the thought Golden State would move Stephen Curry over Monta Ellis. I mean I understand your a homer, but come on now.
