Malik-UniversalParticipantDoes anybody know why Geno Auriemma doesn’t coach mens college bball? and do you think if he ever did he would have the same impact as he does coaching girls?

BasketballJunkie224Participantprobably wouldnt have a hard time making the transition. i dont know if he still does but a few years back he coached a boys aau team ‘connecticut nike elite’ so i think hes a coach rather than just a ‘womens coach’ besides after all those wins he have proven he can win, i dont think he would be a horrible coach in mens ncaa

ChewyParticipantThey are very different from each other in all categories of the game; defensive schemes, offense, transition, the pure physical nature of the game.
Could he do it, I certainly think he could, but it would be a huge adjustment from what he has grown used to over the years.

ChewyParticipantbut the real question is why would he want to leave his job to coach guys? I have no idea how much he makes, but I have to assume it is comparable to the men’s coaches, plus he basically has his pick of all americans every year.
