I honestly think its time for Rose to consider retirement.. Sad to hear this news.

It was his meniscus not MCL but either way it’s sad that he has another knee injury.

You’re right. I heard his injury wasnt his ACL and assumed it was an MCL.. Tough loss either way

Well this pretty much confirms the Knicks need to go with the best available PG in the draft. As for Rose’s future, he’s still just 28. Assuming he can recover from this, I think he can still be productive for another 5-7 years. Maybe not as a starter, but as a solid rotation guy.

Isn’t this what everyone’s been saying for years? IF he can recover, IF this, IF that. Time to face facts that he’s not going to.

He should seriously consider at least taking a few years off. Its obvious at this point he is injury prone. You cant say these are freak accidents. Now whether his body cant take deal with the rigorous 82 game schedule or he lacks the proper dietary or physical preperation is besides the point. At this stage of his life he has made tons of money which makes me very relieved for him because if he keeps going on like this he will have seriously problems walking normally let alone running and jumping.

    Isn’t he a free agent?

He should think about chasing a ring with the Warriors. Or, as a Avery Bradley replacement in Boston.

Memphis could use a backup point guard, too.

His best option would probably be in Golden State as a score-first point guard super sub.  I think he can play about 20 minutes a night for 55-60 games, and that might be a high estimate.

Read somewhere that he has to play because of his shoe deal. Not sure about it.
He has been a solid NBA player in past couple of years IMO. His production wasn’t off someone who you would say he should consider retirement.

Sounds about right. He signed a 13 year $185 million shoe deal with Adidas.

Bet they wish they would’ve gotten Rubio now.

I feel like Dennis Smith or Malik Monk (maybe De’Aaron Fox since he actually plays defense) would be great for them if they’re in that 5-8 range. They love the spotlight and the Knicks need any kind of guard help they can get

He still has not changed his game. Even though the game has already changed, he still goes for those acrobatic layups that makes you cringe everytime because his knees are a walking timebomb. He doesnt contribute to winning even if he has 18 ppg. He doesnt make his teammates better, though Melo is also an iso guy that might have made this team ugly to watch. Add in the fact that hes so bad on defense. Hes no 82 out of 89 point guards and defensive rating. PG with no shooting, cant make his teammates better and bad defense is a recipe for a player to go to the bench.

His days as a starting PG are over. Sad to say, but it’s the truth…had he been able to get through these last 5 games unscathed, he might have been able to get a solid short-term deal this summer to start for someone. Now, he’s gonna be lucky to get more than a 1 year prove it deal as a backup PG.

With his unwillingness to change his game, his suitors are likely going to be limited. He’s too prideful to do it, but I think his best option would be going to OKC to back up Russ. That bench could use 15 minutes a night of him attacking, they have 2 shooters on the wings and Sabonis/Kanter down low who can both play inside and out…they just lack a creator. Outside of that I don’t see many teams he could go to where he could play the same way and actually help. Maybe Milwaukee if they’re going to stick with Brogdon in the starting lineup going forward. It’s very close to home for him and might help sell some tickets. Him & Jabari could rehab together (sarcasm) Kidd might actually be able to talk to him about why and how to reinvent his game to last in the league. Possibly Detroit if they move Reggie out of town.
