Rose should have a fantastic year especially with Noah coming into his own and Boozer on the team.  Plus Korver and Bogans up his assists total by atleast 2.5

 If he can shoot his 3’s better. Like make about 2-3 a game than we might be talking MVP. But so far his 3pt shooting really sucks. Not as bad as Rajon Rondo but still not good enough to be considered an elite PG. (Like Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Steve Nash, and Jason Kidd) In order to even be considered an MVP candidate you have to be an elite player. Rose isn’t quite there yet. But if works on his outside shot, then he might be considered an MVP candidate in a year or two.

Derrick is an MVP-caliber type of player… But with so many guys in the running for that prestigious award, it’s going to be tough for him to put his name out there… But anything can happen… Nobody expected Jason Kidd to be in an MVP-talk during his first season with New Jersey, a team that has been one of those stuck in our afterthoughts… But he transformed that dying franchise into East contenders (though I admit, the East was very weak at that time)… Still, you can’t help but be amazed of what he did… Nobody thought Steve Nash could make such huge impact when he returned to Phoenix in 2004… So, sooner or later, Derrick is going to be in those talks…

The difference between Derrick Rose and Nash, Kidd is that Derrick is a scoring PG where Nash and Kidd make the people around them look like all-stars on the court through their passing and positioning their team mates. Rose just doesn’t have that talent for making team mates better in that sense. He is a scoring PG at heart. I’m not saying he can’t create. Most PGs can create, but he can’t on their level. Unless he takes his playmaking skills to another level, he won’t be a PG like those guys. Rose will either have to up his scoring and/or average a double double along with leading his team to a top-3 seed to even be in talks of an MVP, and there are just too many good players on good teams ahead of him right now. The guy is young as hell, so give him some time. Maybe 4-5 years down the line he’ll be a MVP candidate. Even James didn’t win a MVP that young considering how good he was, so I doubt Rose will.
