surveParticipantI am about to watch Philly vs Portland. What games are you guys watching? Who has impressed? Who has disappointed?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:12pm #618250
IndianaBasketballParticipantUnimpressed with the Dallas Mavericks.
I know they have a new team, etc… And I know these two games probably won’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but still… To get blown out two straight nights looks crazy for the defending champs.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:14pm #618252
llperezwatched the first half of indiana vs detroit and neither team really impressed me. Even though the pacers had a big lead, it had more to do with teh pistons being terrible. I have watched the whole wolves vs thunder game and its gonna be a fun season for wolves fans. DWill, rubio and barea bring a lot of excitment.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:18pm #618256
omphalosParticipantI watched some of the Detroit-Pacers game and I’m not understanding why Stephenson wasn’t getting more minutes, he was finding open guys, creating for others and showed off his ridiculous handle, but only got 6 minutes. It’s not as if the game was close, so I’m not sure why they weren’t giving him some run.
Wolves are looking good too.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:19pm #618258
Charlie SheenParticipantMichael Beasley should be the #1 option on a team I think Charlotte should try and grab him and build around Beasley, Kemba and Biyombo
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:19pm #618259
IndianaBasketballParticipant^^^ Wondered the same thing about Stephenson ^^^

Tobe BryantParticipantOKC vs. Minny:
Kevin Durant has been lights out! Great scoring and leadership!
Westbrook is frustrated by J.J. Barera, has elbowed and pushed him a few times.
Mike Beasley scores with ease, and can be really special.
Derrick Williams is looking good running the break and getting some easy scores from Ricky Rubio. Rubio is a great playmaker!
Kevin Love is a great passer from the post and can shoot the 3 pretty well!
Kahn is looking GOOD tonight as his young squad is sticking close to OKC.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:25pm #618264
omphalosParticipant@IndianaBasketball; that play where he split the two defenders with that low dribble and found the open man was filthy.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:25pm #618265
IndianaBasketballParticipantIF I was Westbrook, I’d be frustrated to… Turning the ball over seven damn times.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:26pm #618267
OhCanada-ParticipantThis Minnesota game has been awesome. Minnesota maybe the most exciting team to watch this year, of course next to the Clippers. Rubio is extremely smart.

IndianaBasketballParticipant - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:27pm #618269
torontoraptors10ParticipantToronto Raptors played really well in terms of defence against the Cavaliers, much better opposed to last year. The Raptors are sharing the ball, 7 players scored in double figures, and Calderon got everyone involved. Calderon went 15pts 11ast and 6reb. The Raptors hustled for the ball, made key blocks and were playing sound defense. As a Raptor fan I was happy to see that improvement and can see Dwane Casey’s defensive technique put into effect.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:28pm #618270
surveParticipanthey man, the Mavs are not in it to win it this year, look at how many players over the age of 30 they have to rely on….Kidd, Terry, Carter, Odom, Dirk, Haywood, Marion, etc…. they are lacking athleticism, not to mention a lot of those old guys are out of shape. More than anything, I think their defense is really suspect….especially with no Chandler.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:28pm #618272
Tobe BryantParticipantLakers vs. Kings:
Jimmer is being defended by Devin Ebanks, this is where he proves his scoring prowess is as good as advertised.
So far, Ebanks has taken away his looks and swatted one away.
Kobe has got to distribute and make good choices with the basketball.
Tyreke needs to bounce back from his injuries of last year and show his rookie tenure form.
McRoberts should have a decent night.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:30pm #618273
omphalosParticipant@IndianaBasketball; Larry Bird had it right when he said Lance was their best player.
Also, that flop by Westbrook was hideous, can’t believe the referees rewarded that, smdh.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:31pm #618274
marcusfizer21ParticipantWhen Tyson Chandler left the Mavs, so is their chance of repeating as champs…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:31pm #618275
surveParticipantif Aldridge gets jerked off the All Star team this year, will be criminal.
Blazers looking good.
Hey….all the Iguadala trade talks non-existant now?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:35pm #618277
marcusfizer21ParticipantThis is why I am not a Westbrook fan… When you’re not the best player on the team, you pass the effin ball during clutch situations to your best player (hello Kevin Durant?)… He is trying to do too much… As talented as he is, he has no business taking ill-advised shots/floaters or whatever…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:39pm #618279
surveParticipantoh god….Big Tigger super annoying. announcing the Wizards.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:39pm #618280
omphalosParticipantSo glad I pushed back an appointment an extra half an hour to watch the 4th quarter of Wolves-Thunder, great game and Minnesota look dangerous, Adelman has transformed this team as expected.
When you consider that Williams had a terrible night from deep and they were still that close it’s even more promising, because we know Williams is a good shooter from range but obviously the nerves got to him this time.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:44pm #618285
surveParticipanthad to switch from Blazers/Sixers….gotta see DWill vs Wall.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:46pm #618286
delfamParticipantIsiah Thomas looking good for the Kings
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:47pm #618288
delfamParticipantLOL, Shawn Williams just through up on the floor for the Mavs, guess he’s not in shape, getting extended playing time in this blow-out.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:49pm #618287
surveParticipantJordan Crawford gets the start over Nick Young? Wonder is this the year Blatche puts it together, he is a terrific passer.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:51pm #618289
surveParticipantoh, they just explained it, Nick not in tip-top shape yet.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:55pm #618292
surveParticipantsloppy play, but DWill is in great shape being that he played during lockout, he is dishing it, guys just not converting!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 5:57pm #618293
Tobe BryantParticipantI’m cringing watching the Lakers right now. Lol. They look so different and….well….not competitive. The younger and athletic Kings are getting run-outs and fast breaks on them like it’s not even funny. Kobe is matched up against Isiah Thomas, the OTHER Isiah Thomas from Washington.
But I’m just talking, they are ok and just need time to mesh and compete.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:01pm #618294
delfamParticipantI don’t know who the Kings shooting coach is, but in 3 years how hard is it to teach Tyreke Evans to not fade away on every single jump shot he takes?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:01pm #618295
surveParticipantOMG, the Nets absolutely suck. DWill crossed over JWall sick….no help. My god the Nets are terrible. Humphries booed every time he touches the ball….is it that serious?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:02pm #618297
BasketBalAllanParticipantSaddly it is, appartently, really hard…

OhCanada-ParticipantEd Davis shot 7 of 7 FG’s for 14 points, with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in just 17 minutes. He also looks a bit stronger at about 235-240. Davis is a very smart player with developing post skills, and good defensive skills although conistancy is the name of the game. He needs to go out there and do this against every team in the NBA not just Clevelands horrible frontcourt.
Amir Johnson is alot bigger. He looks like a cut 250 pounds. Against Cleveland he had few mistakes. With his new found strength he was not getting pushed around, maintained good position, good body control, and was not making stupid fouls. Clevelands frontcourt is nothing special but I like what I saw from Johnson.
Calderon looked like the Jose of old the year he had the best Assist to Turnover ratio and broke the NBA’s record for free throw percentage. Although similar to the frontcourt Clevelands backcourt was horrendus defensively. Simple pick and rolls, and screens became a nightmare for Clevelands defense tonight. Calerons play is a great reason why the bigs shot so efficiently.
DeMar Derozan is adapting to the new offense and it definitely shows. The great thing about Derozan is he never forces the issue, is always team first, and understands when he is struggling. Today he struggled not playing in an iso based offence, his jumper was not falling and it took him a while to adapt. In the 4th qaurter down the stretch he scored 9 or 7 points down the stretch to ice the game for the Raptors.
The team seems very confident, is actually defending, although made alot of mistakes, stupid fouls, and easy turnovers while adapting to this system. But things are looking good, and Dwayne Casey even got Bargnani to consistantly defend high on picks. This season will be fun if they play that hard in every game although I want to see them do it to a team that will win more then 15 games this year.

surveParticipantI see why Kwame Brown was a "bust". He is outta shape bad. That can be excused for a star like Dirk, but you would think Brown would give himself the best chance to make an impact after the lockout….dude aint even good for 10 min per game.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:13pm #618301
delfamParticipant^ about $1 million per minute, LOL!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:13pm #618302
llperezlakers looked fine vs the bulls. They just blew it late after leading the whole game. But tonight they are playing bad Bad defense, not establishing pau down low and derek continues to piss me off. he had 2 stupid turnovers in the final 2 minutes of the first half. One of them he just fell over and lost the ball out of bounds for no reason whatsover. Wasnt even touched by anyone. Hell, he has jimmer up on him pressuring him 94 feet. Kobe looks old. I thought he played an overall great game vs chi until the finals seconds. But tonight he looks like 2 games back to back is hard on him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:17pm #618303
surveParticipantboy is still crack. gettin to the cup is his specialty. he fades with that shot regardless, even when he is warming up with no one guarding him…but he is hitting it more now. I actually think Reke is a better shooter than he has shown and I think I will be proven right as he should shoot a better percentage this year.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:20pm #618305
surveParticipantthat is exactly right, think he played 7 min yesterday. he bout da most sorry sum-uh-mah biatch.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:37pm #618309
surveParticipantbeen impressed with Ebanks, he is really versatile, hit Kob with a beautiful alley, good defender and hits the jumper.
Kob looks old sometimes, then sometimes he dont. I think he just plays slower to conserve energy. Kob is basketball genius.
Hayes is in Pau’s chest. Jason Thompson is a really talented player, I am looking for him to get moved.
Salmons is back…really shooting well again.
Hilarious that when Reke isolates on Fish…you here the guys scream "help! help!"
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:41pm #618310
surveParticipantis it me or does Hickson look a lot more lean and cut?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:41pm #618311
Tobe BryantParticipant@surve
Man Reke is killing Fisher on iso, but bailing out sometimes by taking jumpers.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantKris Humphries silences the haters to the tune of 21 and 16.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 6:49pm #618318
IndianaBasketballParticipantIF the Pacers weren’t able to sign West, I was high on them picking up Humphries to back up Hansbrough. He can play.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:02pm #618325
surveParticipantDemarcus Cousins is soooooo good. Cant pass up on Wall with #1 pick but sometimes I still think Cousins was the most talented guy in the draft. Ox strong, can step out, underated passer, etc…etc…he can do it all, just immature.
Jimmer showing good vision and IQ but shaky going to the hole. Isaiah Thomas is fearless, thought this was a steal pick for them. Marcus Thornton is a scoring machine.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:12pm #618327
llperezwin or lose, metta world peace has been awesome tonight. I mean as good as he has looked as a laker. Playing smart on offense, getting after it on defense.

llperezpau was off balance and falling backwards on the shot. Guys can get blcoked by shorter guys if they dont have balance and cant jump.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:19pm #618332
marcusfizer21ParticipantBulls are playing really bad tonight 🙁
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:20pm #618331
IndianaBasketballParticipantI just don’t understand what is wrong with Pau Gasol.
He has all of that talent and skill. All of that height and length. He should be averaging 20, 10 and 5. That’s how good he is. I just don’t get it.
And not that Kobe has played bad, but the Lakers can’t make it with him isolating one on one all season.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:21pm #618335
surveParticipantwhy do I always confuse Paul Westphal with Paul Westhead? lol, because they both focus on offense or because neither focus on defense? I forget.
seriously, Kings putting up good defensive effort, especially Hayes.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:22pm #618336
surveParticipantlakers gonna lose 3 in a row.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:23pm #618337
IndianaBasketballParticipantI hope Andrew Bynum is ready because he’ll be more important this season than ever before.
LAL needs his aggressiveness bad because Pau just doesn’t have it.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:28pm #618338
aamir543ParticipantWhat is Derek Fisher doing out there? I’d rather have one of thier rookies out there than him. He can’t stay with anyone, and gets beat off the dribble every time.
LAL is getting completely outhustled. That was like 5 straight possesions of loose ball fouls and hustle plays by the Kings. Arco Arena is pumped@ It’s gonna be a long season for the Lakers…………………………
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:31pm #618339
aamir543ParticipantWow, the Refs blew another call. COusins was obviously there late, but man, does this Lakers team look old and slow. They need some athleticism desperatly.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:31pm #618340
llperezbynum looked great in the 2 pre-season games. 20 and 12 with a couple blocks. He is clearly the teams #2 player.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:33pm #618341
IndianaBasketballParticipantAnd if Bynum is your #2 player, that’s scary… Not because of him as a player, but because he’s such an injury risk.
IF Mitch doesn’t make some moves, Kobe is going to be a problem. This team right here looks like those dookie teams that Kobe was on in the past.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:34pm #618342
llpereznot that it impacted the game, but the refs really confused me earlier tonight. Fish pulled up for a transition jumper and nailed it and they ruled it a 3. During the next deadball they reviewed it to see if it was a 2 or a 3 and the microphones clearly pick up the refs saying it is inconclusive out loud. Then they shake their heads yeah inconclusive they agree out loud and immediately walk over to the scorers table and say change it to a 2. How does that make sense?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:35pm #618343
aamir543ParticipantWow, I checked the Portland Philly game 10 minutes ago adn it was 14 points. Now it’s a two point game. Doug Collins has this team playing hard.
Both of these teams are going to burn out quick if they play Wes Mathews, Aldridge, and Iggy 40+ minutes a night.
Didn’t like that shot by Iggy, should have swung it around a bit, or got the ball to Meeks or Williams.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:35pm #618344
llperezbigs are fine and i dont mind the artest/barnes/ebanks trio at sf. They just HAVE to do something at pg. At this point they might as well start andrew goudelock.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:42pm #618346
aamir543ParticipantNOOOOOOOOOOO! Curry tweaked his ankle again! He was playing such a great game, Hope he’s OK. He fell on Korver’s foot.
Oh no, Watson knocked in another threee, it’s a 10 point game. We need to get the ball inside, and guard the perimeter better on threee
Yes!!! Monta slams it home
NO!! Monta gets a technical.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:44pm #618347
aamir543ParticipantMy oh my. The technical free throw and Deng’s three.
Beautiful floater by Monta, I hoep we don’t trade him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:46pm #618348
aamir543ParticipantGet that Sh!t out of here! Brandon Rush sent CJ Watson’s shot flying off the backboard.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:47pm #618350
IndianaBasketballParticipantStephen Curry needs to sit out long enough and just rehab that ankle. Because until it’s fully strengthened, he’s just going to keep re-injuring it.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:48pm #618351
BasketBalAllanParticipantI really hope Curry does not put himself in the same position as Brandon Roy with the way he is coming back early from injuries.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 7:52pm #618354
aamir543ParticipantCurry has come out of the Locker room and is on the bench. I hope he doesn’t come back in the game.
As for the long-term health of his knee, I really hope he strengthens it well, cause he is the future of our team along with Monta, but I don’t think his injuries are as serious as Roy’s
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 8:24pm #618360
Mr. 19134ParticipantI was watching the Portland feed of the Blazers-Sixers game and I gotta say the Blazers have the worse commentators I’ve ever heard. They are homers to the extent of ridiculousness. On one play Iggy was set for like 2 seconds and Wallace ran him over and the announcers were trying to say it was a bad call. Then a few plays later Iggy was driving and Wallace stepped under him and was not set and they were saying great call. They also were calling Thad Young a guard. It was just bad.
And Iggy;s game might of looked good on the stat sheet but to me it was another example of why he needs to get traded. I’ve been watching him play him whole career and alot of the shots he made tonight were prayers that he won’t normally hit. And he was gunning tonight. That final play was just terrible where he had Aldridge on a switch and decided to shoot a 25 foot 3 over L.A’s 7’5 wingspan fading left and backwards instead of driving to the basket cuz there was still enough time for a 2 and foul.
And Meeks should not be starting still this is getting out of control. He started and played only 13 minutes because he stinks and if his shot isn’t falling, which it hasn’t been all season so far, then he has no use on a basketball court.
And don’t say I didn’t warn people about the Wolves they are going to be scary this year. And Rubio is a wizard with the ball he makes amazing passes but he don’t turn the ball over thats incredible.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 8:26pm #618362
OhCanada-ParticipantIts his ankle.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 8:43pm #618368
surveParticipantI think Derek Fisher is a terrific player when he has all the necessary players around him that compensate for some of his weaknesses. Like his lack of scoring on offense and his inability to keep bigger guards from the basket. Even if he starts, I think his minutes have to be reduced, he is really becoming a liability. Maybe the Lakers should seriously consider looking at Arenas. He is not much of a defender but he is an experienced ballhandler that can shoot and Goudelock can learn some good things from him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 12/26/2011 - 8:57pm #618370
Mr. 19134ParticipantDid anybody else notice that Spencer Hawes nearly had the first triple double of the season with 10 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists. Hawes had some fantastic passes in this game and actually got robbed of an assist on one of Iggy’s 3’s that would of gave him the triple double.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 12/27/2011 - 5:01am #618421
mcbaileyParticipantStephenson is still too raw to play huge minutes for Indy. For every "sick" or "nasty" play he makes, he makes two bone-headed ones. With that, combined with the fact that he has major off the court issues, I don’t even like that he’s on the team.
