The highest I’ve seen Hunter mocked around is late lottery. My question is why not top 10, and why have someone like Nassir Little mocked above him. When you really break him down as a Sophomore given his skill, versatility, and quiet demeanor I think anywhere outside of the top 5 is fair for him. I wouldn’t get sucked into the fact that he only averages 15 PPG,because of UVA’s low possession style of play. He is 6-7" and a strong 225. He will be able to play either the 3 or stretch 4 in the NBA. Currently he’s an above average rebonder and defender. He has the footspeed to cover 3’s and the strength to hold his own playing small ball. Offensively he is incredibly efficient and smart. His shooting averages(54% from the field/47% from three) is top of the class. He shows great passing ability as they often run the offense through him at the top of the elbow with his ability to pass, drive, and make mid range shots. I’m not saying he’s the next Kawhi Leonard but there is no reason to believe he can’t at least be Otto Porter.

If you just look at the teams slotted 5,6,7(Hawks, Grizzlies, Wizards) all 3 of those teams will benefit having an efficient 2 way player like Hunter. Hunter legitimately could have been the difference from UVA being eliminated in the first round last year vs them making a final 4 run.

    54% FG/47% 3PT/80% FT

    15.2 PPG/5.4 RPG/2 APG

With one of our possible two lottery picks. You highlighted exactly why he’s a great prospect. I think he’d be a great fit with us. We need a lockdown caliber perimeter defender and Hunter can be a very good 3 and D wing, with potential to be more.

What kind of lineup would you look to run?

Would it be better that they trade Prince and build around Young, Hunter, Huerter and Collins?

I’m not high on Prince. He’s improved as a shooter and is actually a fairly versatile offensive player, but for a guy you were expecting to be a 3 & D guy he is actually a very poor defender. He’s starting to get exposed and the perception of him being a solid defender is being questioned. His best fit is probably as a 6th man off the bench bringing energy. You can argue though for that role someone like Deandre Bembry will end up being a much cheaper option.

As far as the Hunter fit with the Hawks, a trio of Trae Young, Huerter, and Hunter would be incredible. Trae Young and John Collins are turning lethal in the pick and roll game, imagine how hard that would be to defend and send help defenders if you have Huerter and Hunter on the wings waiting to knock down an open 3. If the Hawks could land Hunter or Reddish to pair with Huerter that would do wonders for the Young & Collins duo. As for the Hawks 2nd lottery pick I see two needs. A 2 like Nickeil Alexander who can handle the ball and allow Young to play off ball at times would be very beneficial, as well as a defensive big to allow Collins to play the 4 full time. I look at Charles Bassey and Bruno Fernando as potential fits.

Whats up with Deandre Bembry? Whats the guys issue? Every time I watched him play this year he had a great night like a wing version of James Johnson but I had him on my fantasy team this year and he is terribly inconsistent. Is it just an effort thing? I dont really get a chance to watch Atlanta play much.

He’s 21, and doesn’t have as much perceived upside as some of the 19 year old one-and-done guys.

Same body type as Kawhi, if I’m the Heat, I would consider him.

Yeah I had him top 10 for a while this year. Right now I’ve got him 11th. Reminds me of Jerami Grant. Theres alot of guys who are proven prospects that I think are gonna go higher than people are currently mocking them like PJ Washington, Shamorie Ponds, Ty Jerome and Iggy Brazdeikis.

He’s up to the top 10 for me, I see glimpses of Glen Rice, with his elite 3&d potential, efficient and presence of mind…

I saw him mocked at 5 in a mock draft done by yahoo…they also had grant Williams at like 25 so idk maybe they just like hot takes.

if boston keeps all their picks, i think hunter would be a good fit with that team.  he’s long, versatile and doesn’t need the ball on offense.

they need a high energy guy IMO.

i think 8 to 20 is his most likely range….he could become a better version of rondae hollis jefferson…his ability to rebound and defend will translate immediately… his inability to create his own shots and lack of ball handling will hurt him…but he seems to be 1 of those players that’ll be willing to work on his faults…
