Othyus "O" Jeffers of the Iowa Energy Listed at 6”5′ more like 6”3-1/2 200 pound G-F gave the Utah Flash 27 points 17 boards 2 steals 2 blocks. for day 1 of the showcase you would have to think after that performance he’s bound to get a NBA call up very soon he’s averaging 20.6 ppg 9.3 rpg and 2.9 apg for the season consistently giving opposing teams double double’s starting at the power foward position. now that being said remember this your average d’league PF is proably between 6”6′ and 6”10′ and weighing between 215 and 260 this guy "O" is starting at that position due to his cobination of quickness of a gaurd, strenth of a foward and a 7ft wingspan of a center. In short words from head coach of the Iowa Energy Nick Nurse and Athletc Trainer Jervae Odom said that this guy is a lock down defender no matter what size. Words from Jerry Sloan is that he’s very tough and aggressive and gave C.J. miles and Ronnie Brewer problems during practice defensively and offensively on a consistant basis during his 14game season with the Utah Jazz in 09-10.

    Scouting report (John Hollinger)

Offense-He’s a quick efficient slasher who can finish in the lane and is best suited for a transition offense. Off the dribble he’s exceptional no one can defend his first step and he’s able to finsh at the rim, he’s very deliberate. Shooting though is occasionally a bit of a problem it’s not that he have a bad shot, it looks pretty but it doesn’t fall much as you think it should when watching it leave his hands. He’s been played at power foward much of his career though, so i’m assuming his jumpshot will improve with more time spent, as it seems the mechanics are there.

Defense-Defensively he’s great I don’t really know how much im able to add to what I said above, but I really want to pound home he’s a great defender. Being closer to 6”2′ he uses is strenth and defensive instinct to actually make it work in the D’league I wouldnt experiment with this in the NBA, but he’s certainly shown he’s willing and able to do whatever it takes to win.

IMO i think he has the tools to be a legit SG-SF in the NBA and would thrive in the right system. he’s a great rebounder for his size and i beleve he can keep that going, point being proved by the like’s of Rondo,Kidd,Turner (college level so far) but these guys are gaurds and they usually float around the 3pt area. WHAT DO U THINK??? OPINIONS???
