Both Cousins & Sidney coming into college were highly touted recruits, but from what we have seen between both players, I must ask who is the bigger headcase?

What lies ahead for both players with the amount of fame & fortune to come their way?

How will Cousins & Sidney handle being in a NBA atmosphere with all the distractions of the money, night life, women, and family/friend leaches?

I like the Kings but Cousins has a attitude concern and you can tell in his game. For example, today’s game with Detroit he kicked ass in first half, Kings got 60points before the 3rd began, but his foul trouble kept him out the game the whole time the 2nd half.

Both Cousin and Sidney are good but Cousin’s potential is just as high as his attitude and temper.

Honestly I’m not quite sure who is the worst headcase. I mean if a coach was willing to take a chance on him, (Like Calipari was with Cousins) and had gone to a more highly touted school then he might be a different player. Same with Cousins. If he was in Sidney’s place, (highly recruited but no coach willing to take a chance with him) he probably would have been drafted in the 2nd round. Because of this, I don’t think this can be determined until both Sidney is in the NBA as well as Cousins. But I think Sidney is more of a headcase. It just doesn’t seem like he cares and would rather be wrestling or boxing.

Disagree, Cousins was a poor rebounder coming out of highschool, and suddenly was a 10 rpg college center. Beside of Pat Patterson no less. Also cam in, in much better condition than high school. That shows work-ethic which goes hand in hand with maturity IMO. Again, if you ask Cousins’ prior teammates about him, you will get nothing but positive revues. Sidney on the other hand, I couldn’t quite say the same about. Sid has never been held accountable for his actions, therefore leading him to believe he is allowed to do whatever he wants and get away with it.

As I write this I remember seeing somewhere that Cousins would have lash out reactions to teammates actually, but began seeing a psych and taking meication that balanced him out. At this point, seems to me that Cousins is at a maturity level you would expect from a 20 year old. Sidney, to me, acts like a CHILD. Kid has a lot of issues he needs to clear up, before ever thinking about the NBA, otherwise, he could end up sadly, like Eddie Griffin.

if Sidney does have potential to be like Cousins or Zach Randolph then why is he a second round pick? Maybe he is crazy/bad habbits like Sean Williams then i would understand.

Because Eddie Griffin was also a headcase who went untreaed and ultimately went the path of alcohol instead of treating his issues. John Lucas III who was one Eddie Griffin’s good friends was said to have believed Griffin’s wreck was a suicide. Issues outside of the game are what lead to his fall from grace and truely robbed the basketball world of a unique talent. As someone with resentment/anger/depression issues myself, the signs are all there and hopefully get attended to. Thats why he falls to the second, he’s just too much of an enigma. Cousins is said to be immature, there are real differences between headcases and people are immature.

Not to mention Cousin’s proved his abilities for an entire season and was on arguably the best team, as arguably the best player. Sidney can’t even manage to stay in shape, or out of trouble long enough to show any reason he should be a first rounder. In individual workouts he will dominate the competition, but with his on/off court issues, he’ll probably only be able to make it as high as the late first. The fact he’s not even proved to be a dominant force at the NCAA level, is going to make teams question whether or not to give him guaranteed money when he won’t be able to make a significant impact in his first year or so, and may not make it past his second or 3rd years. Give me a stellar second half of the season, issue free, and in shape, along with a good combine and then I may change my tune. I wanna see more rebounds, and more leadership instead of cancerous behavior. Better body language would be terrific as well, though this hasn’t changed much since Jr. High so I doubt it will now.
