IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m surprised nobody is talking about this matchup that comes on next on NBATV.
Should be an interesting matchup. Who’ll have the better game?

warriorlifeParticipantCousins will destroy Monroe.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 11:42am #352685
SteroidParticipantHmm probably Monroe, but I’ll be rooting for Cousins though. I wouldn’t be surprised if both of them had good games, but I don’t think Monroe can guard Cousins or out rebound him for that matter.
Where could I watch this at online?

Michael.S.ParticipantCousins because its his debut, and not only that but he is more assertive than Monroe. So far Monroe has showed the skill he has but needs to score the ball when he has a chance.

Bryant24ParticipantI think cousins is to physical for monroe but i think monroe still will have a good game
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 11:52am #352699
Michael.S.ParticipantIs Griffin playing?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 12:04pm #352715
B-ball fanParticipantHe may have his way a little with Monroe as he is bigger and more physical. Monroe still should be able to be productive, as he is quicker than Cousins.

stanford hoopsgriffin isnt playing. and it would be the opposite jammin since this is cousins first game and he hasnt played in awhile were as monroe has already played two games. i think it will be interesting both are pretty good at the other weakness. cousins power while monroe more speed.
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 12:10pm #352730
warriorlifeParticipantI’m sorry but Monroe is garbage right now.

stanford hoopsthat must have been posted before monroe started playing better..theres a common theme in the summer leauge. guards and sf jacking up shots and big men not getting alot of touchs to score. every once in awhile you get a game where the guards are tryna set up the big men. t.white isnt one of them, hes looking more for his shot

Bryant24ParticipantGriffin is playing i saw it on espn
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 12:51pm #352768
BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantMaloof just just during the game that the Kings will likely sign Donald Sloan and bring him to training camp.

stanford hoopsso they changed there mind and are gonna let blake play?..nicee
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:04pm #352775
SteroidParticipantCousins is on those boards as expected. Wow.. Monroe cannot move Cousins on offense.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:10pm #352780
stanford hoopsdid you really expect monroe to move cousins?..lol..i think cousins out weights him by 30 plus pounds
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:11pm #352781
SteroidParticipantI didn’t expect him to. I was just stating the obvious.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:15pm #352785
bobforteParticipantwow, i know its early but cousins looks impressive i could see in a couple years some teams wishing they would have taken him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:27pm #352796
BasketBalAllanParticipantIm impressed with Cousins passing so far, he looks very alert and eager to find open teamates.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:38pm #352802
pimpdeuce88Participantthey probably both gonna have sub par games… summer league usually dominated by guards and wing players…young big just aren’t that crafty yet…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:39pm #352803
stanford hoopsso far cousins is having better then a sub par game and looks pretty crafty
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:45pm #352805
MalcolmxParticipantcousins will kill monroe any day. to big to strong. he is just as quick just not as fast. and is smart also just like monroe. at least basketball smart.A better rebounder and post defender also
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 1:49pm #352808
stanford hoopsi wouldnt say kill anyday but both have shown they can play pretty well against each other
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 2:01pm #352813
Bryant24ParticipantTyrese rice reminds me of a poor mans brandon jennings he can score but he isnt a great playmaker he can be a good backup point guard for a team
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 2:06pm #352816
Bryant24ParticipantWhiteside is a great defender you can see the potential but he seriously has no offense in his game
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 2:08pm #352817
stanford hoopshmmm yeah i can see a poor mans jennings since he cant create like jennings. and yeah white side is a good help side defender
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 2:16pm #352820
B-ball fanParticipantIt is just summer league, but he looks good. He has a good feel for the game and can pass well for a 19 yr. old center. He has some moves in the post.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 2:23pm #352821
IndianaBasketballParticipantI can’t wait to see Cousins up against another big man that’s his size, etc. I already know he can dominate smaller big men.
As long as Cousins keeps his weight and attitude in check, I think he’s going to be a great player. I’m impressed with his skills and the way he moves to be how big he is.
Whiteside is going to be a great helpside defender in the NBA. He has amazing length, timing and gets off of his feet quickly.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 2:58pm #352843
JNixonParticipantTyrese Rice is nowhere near as good as Brandon Jennings. Not even a poor mans version LOL. The only similarities they have is that they’re left-handed.
I’m glad Sacremento signed Donald Sloan. He was a big-time player at Texas A&M and no one ever talked about him. He’s a tweener guard though, but he’s very strong and has decent quickness to get in the lane.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 4:17pm #352894
stanford hoopspoor mans version is a good comparison. we are talking about jennings right now in a season where he was a pretty good player. above average so a poor mans version would be below average. you may not think it fits but i do…anyway tommorrows match up should be interesting between cousins and caracter… and i still dont see anywhere where blake is suppossed to play bryant24…i didnt see it anywhere on espn …i did to sofo is suppossed to play though which should be interesting especially since some of the euro guys on here said he could dominate int he nba right now
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 4:20pm #352896
IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m REALLY hoping Blake Griffin plays, but I doubt it. I see no point for them to put him on the floor.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 4:39pm #352917
JNixonParticipantWouldn’t they have to be comparable though. I mean, Rice doesn’t play like Brandon Jennings. They’re both just left handed. That’s literally were it ends
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 4:44pm #352921
stanford hoopsrice can score..and im not just talking about summer leauge hes a know scorer hes quick hes flashy. ive checked out some of his euro games on top of remembering him at bc
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 4:51pm #352927
JNixonParticipantI know Rice too. H had like 40 points on UNC the year they won the title. Great college player no doubt. BUT, he’s nowhere near the ball-handler, shooter, or passer that Jennings. He’s also much less flashy, and not near as quick and athletic.
Rice is a SG trapped in a PG’s body. Jennings is one of the most dynamic playmakers in basketball passing and scoring. He’s a PG through and through. They literally play 2 totally different ways.
Dee Bost, who just left Mississippi State and is playing overseas (he left too early and pulled out of the draft…ineligible to return to school) is a poor mans version of Brandon Jennings. Most haven’t seen him play, so I don’t fault you if you haven’t, but he’s much more like Jennings than a Tyrese Rice is.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 5:10pm #352936
stanford hoopsyou obviously havent seen him play this past year overseas so i guess i can see how you cant see he’s a poor mans jennings since you dont have much to go on besides college so like i said before he’s not a poor mans jennings to YOU, which is cool.. everyone doesnt see the same thing
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 5:15pm #352942
JNixonParticipantHow is a guy that plays like a SG comparable to Brandon Jennings? They play nothing alike LMAO. Wow. Tyrese Rice and Brandon Jennings? I don’t get it at all. They literally don’t play nearly the same way.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 5:24pm #352948
stanford hoopsok you have established that YOU dont think hes a poor mans jennings.. shall we move on now
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 5:25pm #352949
stanford hoopsis anyone watching this nice battle between the clippers and wiz?..wall and eric looking nice.. eric is looking more like a scoring pg instead of a passing one though
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 6:02pm #352990
marcusfizer21ParticipantHassan Whiteside is so similar with DeAndre Jordan’s situation though… Raw talent… Good shot blocker… Long and super athletic… But he needs to work on his free throws though… He has a good stroke way better than Noah’s… LOL…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/12/2010 - 8:06pm #353081
SteroidParticipantWhiteside’s free throws are so bad that it looks like he doesn’t even try because he knows that he is going to miss anyway. It seems like he just throws the ball up there for good measure. A lot of bad free throw shooters look like that actually..
