As you all would know, it is not a secret that I’m one of Derrick Rose’ biggest followers… NBA.com, FaceBook, Bulls.com… Even espn(sucks)chicago, I read every article that praises and criticizes him in anyway. It’s no secret that his fame just keep rising. A point guard whose athleticism is simply out-of-this world… He is the definition of a proto-type point guard that the NBA has to have… The quickness of a cheetah, the gracefullness of a ballet dancer and the strength of a bull, not to mention his ability to absorb contact like Spongebob… Derrick has what it takes to be named as one of the best…

People do criticize his game and I’m getting tired of arguing all the time though it’s quite challenging and fun… From the whose better debate to the poor defender comments, I was there reading through it all. But the one thing I admire about Derrick is not just all those things…not the highlights, not the reverse layups, not the slam dunks, not the ankle breakers… Those were the things that makes you awe every night… The one thing I admire about DRose is his durability… So far in his first two years in the league, he has played 81 and 78 games respectively. This season he has missed one game due to a stiff neck… But he played through a sore wrist, not to mention two stomach ulcers (WOW)… That to me is a Warrior putting up solid stats despite playing through pain… He has earned the respect from some of the greats…

But my question is,will his durability last long? Not to sound stupid here because I hope he will have a 16 year NBA career with the Bulls. It’s just that, I had a conversation with an uncle of mine who thinks he knows better ball than I do… He gave Derrick Rose’ career 4 years to live… Well, I know he was a Penny Hardaway fan and I know he was traumatized with what happened to his idol. A rising star who was on the verge of being the "next face" of the NBA only to fall because of consecutive injuries… I defended DRose saying he’s as durable as Wolverine… He has been able to play though pain and all that blah blah blah… But it really came to thought though that Derrick is also human… I remember his interview after a game against Indiana where he just got fouled hard by Brandon Rush… He just explained to the media that his body was hurtin’… But the thing that amazes me is that he played through it… I am just concerned about what will become of him in the next 4 years… His gung-ho style and fearless penetration does fear me at times because that’s what Penny Hardaway used to do… Still, I stand by my faith that Derrick’s gonna have a 16 year career… My uncle said, we are going to have a conversation with this in 3 years… I said, "no, we won’t"… We’ll see…

It will last if he continues to avoid contact. He is very good at doing that which is why he doesn’t go to the line alot. He does go into a big man he tries to go around or does the reverse layup. That alone keeps him from getting injured much. Another reason is he is starting to take more jumpers which means less drives to the whole. People criticize him not getting to the line and rightfully so but in the long run it will help him keep his health and have a longer NBA career

Just take the Summer off work on his game. He’s explosive and powerful & has the build that you want in a PG. When his jumper get’s even better he can pull up instead of taking punishment in the paint. Plus they ( Bulls management) have to get him a playmaker that can alleviate the scoring pressure. Deng is a 4th option someone that you have to create for, moves well without the ball, i wish they had a B.Gordon type of 3rd option. I don’t know how much they want to spend but JCrawford is availble next summer. If they get a 2nd option that can average 14-18 ppg that can play adequate D that would relieve DRose from having to do so much. He wanted JJohnson but Hawks overpaid for his services. So I think he will last for a while 10-13 years with 3-6 peak years of 25-27ppg/8-11assts/5rebs. With 1 or 2 ring/1 or 2 MVP’s, that will solidifiy his place in Springfield. Roughly 40% of #1 Overall Picks make the HOF. I been a fan since me & my sister were talking about him in his Sophmore year of HS. He’s humble & confident, family kept WWW away from him (World Wide Wes, the Basketball Power Broker). So he’s the Face of the Bulls, just hope they continue to build around him.

Have you watched the Bulls?..Deng scores on his own or when someone creates for him. He’s equally capable of  playing both ways and he is one of the top defenders in the NBA this year

they were saying that he struggled last year because he was playing in a system that did not allow him to cut to the basket & move without the ball. & know i have not watch bulls this year at least not a full game 2 kids pulling on my leg @ home. But i have watched Deng since he came out of Duke. He is a great defender, some would even say best defender on the Bulls, but by creator I mean the Bulls to me where @ their best offensively when BGordon was scoring against the Celtics. But that is neither here nor there because Thibs sadi they will not outscore people, they don’t have the margin of error for inconsistincies. they have to close out & win with defense. But i like Deng as a 3rd/4th option. Get a Decent SG @ this team is a Finals contender this year.

well he’s alot better than allen iverson and d-wade those two guys hit the ground after every shot im pretty sure he will last longer than both he’s athletic enough to avoid that unessasary contact.

Rose is as physically gifted pound for pound as anybody in the NBA. The absolute physical Ideal for a point guard, he is bigger, stronger, and faster than your point guard. He looks pretty well put together to me, I think he will be hold up fine.

Sky is the limit for the kid. The only real problem, that will improve gradually, but only so much, is that he isn’t very smart. Rondo will always have that on him. I like to watch him play, he is very exciting, but theres a mental element that is lacking in his game. Thats my only real long term concern, because in PG’s you can trade a little bit of size and strength for that Stockton instinct, and he hasnt shown to have much of that.

That said, he does alot of other things that instincts can’t do for you. Unreal athlete. Imagine if the Bulls drafted Beasley lol. What a crazy draft class.

after last year when he decresed his assists under 6 a game i though this guy would be the scoring pg but nothing more now he isn’t Nash but he gets over 8 apg his rebounding steals and even blocks are rising and all around defense gets better, and offcourse his range improvement is drastical..don’t forget he is only in his 3rd year so there is no reason to think his upside is limited and he will get better in all those things even better..

i remember after his rookie year i thought he could match with CP3 in his prime and avg 25/5/8 now he already gets almost identical numbers and his team is already in elite group..fast don’t lie(in the game and in his improvement too)
