Cody Zeller to work out for the Jazz

I just read that Zeller will be working out with the Jazz Monday. This is what makes this year's draft so great. Zeller might be a top 3 pick, or slide to the end of the lottery.

As a Jazz fan, I would love to see Zeller to 14.

what you say if Zeller fell

what you say if Zeller fell to 12 Sam Presti better run to the podium himself. Zeller's upside is freaking awesome especially knowing that he can post up and the ability to shoot all the way to the three point line

Even if he does slide why

Even if he does slide why would the jazz add ANOTHER big. Zeller could be a really good player but there would never be enough minutes for him. That be the worst play for him to go imo

The Jazz played Jefferson 33

The Jazz played Jefferson 33 minutes, Millsap 30, Favors 23, and Kanter 15. The odds appear as though one of the two starting free agents will be re-signed. It really does not matter which one, but even if one thinks that Favors and Kanter are ready for an increased load, there will still be those 1000 or so minutes Kanter received as the 4th big in the rotation for next year. If they think Cody Zeller could possibly be available, and the presence of big hulking presences like Jefferson or Millsap, Favors, and Kanter can protect Zeller from being exposed to bad matchups due to his lack of strength, then what would be the problem taking him with one of their two picks?

The Jazz are probably going

The Jazz are probably going to lose both Al Jefferson and Milsap. If Zeller is on the board for the Jazz at fourteen he's going to be the BPA and its hard to justify passing on him. Especially when there are an abundance of guards will be available in the later teens-- Schroeder perhaps.

Utah

Utah could always be planning to trade up with their two first rounders. They could move up pre-draft day and hope Burke lands to them, or they could wait and try and make a trade on draft day. If they were to move up and Burke was off the board, adding big man depth could be a good move and then they could go after guards in free agency. Zeller would be a good fit as he can be a 3rd big in a rotation while he develops and get close to 30 mpg in his rookie season assuming he plays up to his college standards and expectations.

He'd be a steal. If he's

He'd be a steal. If he's available at #12 for some reason, you have to get him just as the BPA. Favors and Kanter can both play center and Millsap can play small forward ( I'm guessing Jefferson will be the odd man out ) so adding Zeller in the mix could really bring about some nice matchup combinations in the front court.

They'd have three pretty beastly athletes, Kanter is a ripped 260 lbs with a 32'' in vert. Favors has really bulked up too and has a 35'' vertical and Zeller is really strong for 230 lbs ( 17 reps on 185 is in the 260-280 max range and a 35.5 standing vert is generated entirely by lower body strength rather than any momentum), he just needs about 10 more lbs, but he's gonna get that in about a year in the league and he'll be an absolute beast too.

I can't see OKC passing on

I can't see OKC passing on him. They could simply move Ibaka to full time center and play Cody at PF. Kick Perkins to the curb.

If I were Utah, I still would

If I were Utah, I still would probably look for a PG at 14, a big man to backup Kanter and Favors at 21, and then look for a top notch SG and/or PG this summer through trade or free agency.

I think it would be a no

I think it would be a no brainer to pick Zeller if he were still on the board at 14 but I dought it happens, the Jazz need a point guard but I'm not so sure there is anyone in this draft that is overly exciting as a prospect at the point. Getting a good big is alsways something to seriously consider. Wtih Marivin Williams surgery, a long athletic 3 may be a player we look at,. I'd sure like to hear more about Giannis, he is very intriguing.

I am actually thinking OKC

I am actually thinking OKC moves up to get Zeller. They definitely have the assets to make a move and Zeller would be a perfect fit for them.
