Just a thought… what if the Clippers traded Blake Griffin (#1 pick) and Eric Gordon to Memphis for Ricky Rubio (#2 pick) and OJ Mayo? Think about it for a second… Clippers love, and I mean LOVE Mayo and would secure a future All-Star backcourt, and could sweeten the deal by throwing in some other good cheap players (DeAndre Jordan?) to make it work…Rubio would be happy in LA and then they could entertain offers for Baron Davis… Memphis would end up with a starting lineup of Conley, Gordon, Gay, Griffin, Gasol… what do you think?

It’s a Possibility but I just don’t see this trade happening. It’s a good one though because it helps out both teams but who knows.

i dont think it would work because i just dont see rubio being as good as blake also i see maybo having a better career because hes a better defender taller and passes better and can play the point for longer periods of time

TERRIBLE TRADE PROPOSAL!!!!!!!! Eric Gordon is just as good as mayo. he led all rookies in scoring since he began starting for the clippers in the 3rd month of the season. He defended well against other sg’s due to his long arms, even tho he is not the tallest sg. If u don’t watch clipper games, u most likely don’t kno much about Eric Gordon. Mayo is well known for his ESPN hype but if u look beyond that u would see that Eric Gordon is just as good if not better. While mayo slowed down due to fatigue, gordon got even better. In their meeting in memphis, gordon dominated him in every way scoring 23 points and nearly going perfect from the field.he didn’t miss a shot till late in the 3rd quarter. Guess who was guarding him: Mayo. Mayo meanwhile, guarded by gordon, scored 10 points, 6 of them in the last two minutes of garbage time when gordon had been already taken out. And blake>rubio. And, hell no were trading deandre jordan.

so gordan is better than mayo because of one game? thats youre arguement?..come on now that doesnt even make no sense…you cant judge if someone is better because of one game..and if you dont watch grizz games(i do) then you wouldnt know that mayo is more then just sports center..he plays very good defense and every one knows he has that it fact…and also with all things equal ill always take the taller player. and of course mayo slowed down due to fatigue he played more min then gordan and more period because in the beginning gordan wasnt playing much..,mayo had to come and lead his team with baron from jump…plus mayo can play spot pg gordan is strickly a shooting guard and he lead them to more wins with less talented players…but no matter what i say youre opinion wont be biased because youre a clippers fan and youve proved from other post that you can not be biased

This is the dumbest trade I’ve ever heard. Gordon is just as good, if not better than Mayo. They LOVE Gordon in LA.

I’m also tired of people talking about how Mayo can play better D than Gordon. Gordon is just as good, if not better than Mayo when it comes to D. Gordon has a much stronger base & longer arms (which he needs to use to his advantage more). I also think Gordon anticipates better. I’ll give Mayo the slight edge moving laterally & guarding quicker players, but that’s about it.

I keep hearing that Mayo can play spot point & Gordon can’t. Truth be told, Gordon makes better decisions w/ the ball than Mayo. You rarely EVER see Gordon make bad decisions w/ the ball. He’s unselfish & seems to always make the right pass. Right now Gordon is better suited playing off the ball, but next season… He will play the point more.

I actually like the trade but teams are too hesitant to trade young star players that their futures are riding on.

maybe because no one says gordan can play point..from before he was drafted or while he was in the nba and i already did a post about defense and put up the stats how the players gordan check usually gets there average or above 25times more then those same players o up against o.j mayo those facts dont lie..plus go to draftexpress.com and look at the eff rate when comparing both players in each catagory..and they LOVE mayo in memphis…LOVE rose in chicago..LOVE westbrook in okc…and you never once hear about the clipper organization talk about playing gordan as a point guard..actually other then clipper or gordan fans you never hear about gordan playing pg period..is never even a disscussion

if they did not have baron they would smart one. if memphis had a big namepg they would not play mayo at the pg at all. and no im not biased on this arguement. i saw every usc game last year so i saw mayo and i saw some memphis games this year. like tezo said, he is just as good a defender as mayo due to his strength and longer arms. also, who cares if gordon canplay the pg because if this trade went down the clips would still have rubio at the point plus if they did not trade baron they would have him too. the spot pg arguement is stupid since the clippers don’t need spot pg minutes out of their sg.
