RooeyRacerParticipantOk so it’s safe to say that Harden and DeRozan will go before these two. On the mock they are always next to eachother, but I can’t understand why G. Henderson is still in the top 14. They are very different players, but will more than likely develop into SG’s in the NBA. Who do you pick first??
My pick Air Bud just because Chase is a better shooter, is more athletic, and has better size than Henderson. My opinion of course…..
Who would you pick?

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantRead my “Gerald Henderson: the likely bust” if you haven’t done so.

bapperParticipantGerald Henderson, everyday anyday… he wont be a star but he will become a solid player, Budigner has bust written all over him!
BUT, i will still pick Tyreke Evans over either of them! i dont get why he is not ahead of them! I mean on every other mock draft… i just dont see why nbadraft.net has him so low?

bmorebaskekballParticipantI don’t think Chase Budinger is more athletic then Gerald Henderson. Athletic ability is more then just jumping. Budinger has zippie lateral quickness and is not as strong as Henderson. Budinger will stink Henderson will be a average NBA player

dsalHenderson is better, in my opinion Budinger is a scrub

DY_nastyParticipantI don’t even see how Henderson will be an average NBA player. He can’t even score in crunch time against V.Tech. Forget 3pt range, he doesn’t even have a mid-range jumper. And if he could play any kind of defense maybe Duke could brag about something other than the ACC Tournament (which no one but the bottom feeders in the conference seem to care about anymore)

michaelds911ParticipantSince when doesn’t Henderson have a mid-range jumper? that’s one of his biggest strengths lol, please watch some basketball before you right that stuff. And he is an above average defender who has the tools to become an elite one.

DY_nastyParticipantIf he had any kind of mid-range jumper that Duke/V.Tech game would have ended in an easy win. Instead he completely stunk it up in the second half when V.Tech had its players simply force him left and simply dare him to create his own mid-range shot. He went something like 2-11 in that game in the second half and almost cost his team the game.
He also wants no part of Wayne Ellington or Tony Douglas.

michaelds911ParticipantYour just looking at one game lol…And don’t get me started on Ellington, and Douglas wont be a big factor in the league.

michaelds911ParticipantSo I should be able to call Ellington bad because he only scored 6 against Evansville right?….And Va.Tech is a pretty decent team

MachettiParticipantThis question comes up like every other week!, but what the heck Gerald Henderson has a nastiness to his game. I think he’ll stick on a team to provide a little energy. I think Budinger is a little to laid back to play in the league.

DY_nastyParticipantUNC rolled Evansville. Not only that, but it was in the beginning of the season. It was completely different from what happened with Henderson. He was carrying his team offensively for a while when he was completely shutdown by simple coaching decision. I think its pretty clear you didn’t see the game but for something so simple to shut down a team’s primary scoring option… its a red flag when you’re talking about someone’s scoring impact at the next level.
I think that Henderson is a good player on a really good college basketball team but other than that I just don’t see how he’s anything more than an upgraded Dahntay Jones.

michaelds911ParticipantEllington is the third option on his team…If he was in the same position as Henderson at Duke, he wouldn’t even be in the first-round picture in my opinion.

sheltwon3ParticipantI would have to go with Henderson over Chase and far as all that other stuff, there are some things you can teach and some you can’t. Most of Henderson weakness can be worked on. Chase it is a little different because he has a lot of raw ability and has yet to really dominate with it but he did have a pretty decent year this past year so this is a good disscusion topic but if I was a GM I would take Henderson unless my team need perimeter shooting then I would take Chase because with his lack of ball handling, hopefully my coach can turn him into a specialist type shooter.

BartParticipantI might get Roasted for this but, I see some Kobe Bryant in Gerald Henderson’s game *takes cover* don’t know if he can be as good as Kobe but he obiviously needs to get better at everything. Ive seen flashes so I’ll go Henderson.

louiswilliams23ParticipantI see a little Kobe in Gerald to. Living in NC i see all of Geralds games and when he is on he can be a little bit of a Kobe Bryant. But I would pick him over chase but it really all depends on the team
