Dipo is a great player, there are alot of teams that would be envious of that pick. Dipo may not be a big time scorer but he is low risk bust appeal. He might only average 12-17ppg but he does alot of things like MKG that don’t show up on the scoreboard.

In Walker / MKG / Dipo you have 3 good character guys who are hard working and you can build a team around. They will prob have a top 5 pick next year also.

Noel is limited offensively ( a front line of MKG / Biyombo / Noel would struggle for points) Burke is a no as you have Walker. So basically the other picks would be Zeller or Bennett. I would choose Dipo all day…..

I don’t think Oladipo is as bad as a fit as you’re making him out to be. Sure, he’s not super skilled offensively right now, but athletically and defensively he can make an impact from day 1. Lets face it, the Hornets aren’t going to make the playoffs next year so why the concern with Oladipo needing time to develop a better offensive game?

Assuming the board runs Noel – McLemore – Porter (or some combination of that), you still have options of Bennett, Trey Burke, Zeller, Len, Shabazz etc. Some of those are better fits than others, but you get my point.

Take someone who will defend and can grow offensively and then you’re still in great position in the loaded 2014 NBA Draft.

What the Hornets need more than anything is talent, and i think we all agree Dipo is not this high ceiling multitalented player. I think Charlotte should try to package the pig for some vets that could lead a very young group. I’m not sure who they should target specifically but then again 2014 is loaded so maybe they just try to wait it out try to rack up as many ping pong balls as possible once again.

Oladipo would probably be the BPA, but i do think he’s a bad fit

MKG & Oladipo are incredibly talented, but neither of them are, or ever will be top NBA scorers

and on most teams, the 2-3 positions are where you get the majority of your scoring, it wouldnt make much sense if they could hold their opponent to 80, but only score 78…

Exactly thats my point, at some point you need some type of scoring combine that with NO low post presence and its a major problem. I guess STERN promised us either Parker or Wiggins next draft.

I agree that the combination of Dipo and MKG might have some problems scoring at first, but defensively, they would be really really good, with Biyombo at Center, this team could become a solid defensive oriented team..

Trade the pick for multiple picks, if not got with Oladipo. If I was CHA I would def not draft a big, every big they’ve drafted has been a bust.

I think depending who is on board it’s between Oladipo and Mclemore. I would go with Mclemore. Depending on how the draft goes somebody is going to drop between those two. I think if the draft goes the way most people predict Noel is going number one even though I feel Porter should, Burke is going to Orlando, Porter to the Wizards, so that leaves Beenie Mac and Oladipo for the Hornets. But then again, if you are trying to suck again for the 2014 draft do you wait to possibly fill a spot for Wiggins and go big? Or are you trying to win now. That’s the dilemma the Hornets are in. At the end of the day, I think Mclemore is a better fit for the Hornets.

If McLemore doesn’t drop, you have two options: Oladipo or Bennett.

If I’m Charlotte, I go with Oladipo. He may not be a scorer now, but he’s proven that he’s one of the hardest workers in this draft. He very well could develop. The defensive potential is scary with Dipo and MKG on the wings.

Then maybe pursue Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap in free agency. With either of those guys, you get a guy who can score in the paint and rebound. Then it’s not such an offensive liability to have Biyombo out there trying to block shots.

I don’t think offense is that big of a problem, because Kemba is really a scoring PG.

I think that team could potentially pick up a lower playoff spot next year. If not, who cares. 2014’s draft should be great and help full up the holes.

Charlotte needs everything lol, they have some good peices but none u can really build around. IMO the unforseen star in the draft is CJ McCullonm ( or howevea u spell his name), the guy is a proven scorer, very much a killer instinct, good athleticism and size, defense is ok and he’s kinda use to carring the load for a team and he’s a leader…….like many I don’t see an automatic superstar in this draft but if I had my guess of who would become the closest to it sooner than others it would be CJ and he’s a good fit for Charlotte.

Oladipo can pretty much fit in with any team because of what he brings to the table defensively from the start. If he develops offensively he will be an awesome NBA player. That being said I would consider taking Anthony Bennett over him. The Bobcats were bad inside with Byambo and Mullens last year. They could use a SG as well but I think it will be easier for them to find a starting quality SG in free agency. Bennett is undersized but he is very versatile and athletic. Charlotte needs help scoring points more than anything so I would taken Bennett over Victor.
