tigers04Participantbefore the season i predicted it would be the celtics vs the lakers in the finals and i thought the celtics would win. while i wont lie i kinda backed off the when the played .500 ball during the end of the season. i just cant see with how rondo the catalyst for this team(and they are hands down the best TEAM) and the big 3 doin what the healthy big 3 did 2 yrs ago, an absolute monster of a defensive player in kendrick perkins, than finally add in how the bench is playing, bc their playing great esp tony allen (kinda having a break out post season IMO) and u have a great agruement for them. but you cant forget about there defensive schemes that shut down LBJ in their series, and if game one of this series is whats more to come they found a way to contain dwight(while i totally its one game and not the whole series) whats to say they cant do the same with the kobe next series..not sayin they will i could just see it happening IMO
if u asked me today id say Celts in 6 over LA..i just think with whoever wins the east they will beat LA if they get there, bc besides the top 6 the lakers dont have much, and their bench play this post season has been awful

paint intruderParticipantIf it’s going to be Lakers against the Celtics again I think it will be a question of who’s more hungry for the title because to me they seem pretty equal now.
Of course the Celtics got a little older but the Lakers a hurting, so I would predict that the series would go into seven games with an open end.
The Celtics can’t shut the Lakers down as the did with the Cavs, since the Lakers are much more versatile. Allthough I’m a big fan of their defensive abilities and I think they will make the Lakers work for every basket.
I mean, if Kobe has a tough shooting day they will run plays for gasol and bynum.0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/17/2010 - 11:04am #316981
tigers04Participantur right i actually meant will it be kobe next series..referring to them shutting down and containing super stars with their schemes

B-ball fanParticipantThey look like a tough match-up for Orlando because they don’t have to double Howard to cause him to struggle. He shot 1-7 with Perkins on him. Orlando’s ball movement is slowed when Howard doesn’t demand a double, and they can’t get open shots. Plus, they struggled to get dribble penetration outside of Vince Carter’s.

llperezi like the celtics and i said all along we cant write them off as contenders. But i still think orlando takes this series. Orlando started slow, lewis missed jumpers all day and they still almost made a comeback.

NYK2010ParticipantCan definately see the Celtics winning the title now.
Also I got Suns winning tonight, didn’t know about Kobe’s knee and Bynum that idiot should’ve gotten surgery after Game 6 win over OKC. They didn’t need him at all against the Jazz esp. with Okur out.
Maybe they would’ve beaten the Jazz in 5 games instead of a sweep.
I bet when the Lakers lose ppl will start the injury excuse thing again.0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/17/2010 - 3:23pm #317120
llperezNYK, im begining to think you are not a laker fan

mgreener_34ParticipantI would be ecstatic if the Celtics won it again. It’s a little more obvious that the Lakers are going to be there again, and the Celtics are probably going to be there too. You could argue that the Magic almost came back, but do you really think the Celtics D will allow that to happen again? No one can guard Pierce or Rondo, and they have the size to match up with Dwight. I still think the key to the series is Sheed. He played good the first game, and no one can stop him when that shot falls.

NYK2010Participantllperez I’m a Knicks fan.
Just don’t want to hear the injury excuses anymore esp. after a week off.
Other teams have injuries too its a long season but all you hear is Kobe and Bynum with the knee problems.
The Lakers aren’t even that old outside of Fisher, the Suns/Celtics are older.0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/17/2010 - 3:47pm #317130
llperezso who was making injury excuses, or are you just assuming they will come? Doesnt really matter, becasue lakers arent gonna lose.

NYK2010ParticipantWe’ll see about that beating the Jazz wasn’t a tough task.
The Suns and Magic or Celtics will be much tougher.
I mean Laker fans with the excuses not the Lakers themselves.0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/17/2010 - 5:26pm #317176
NYK2010ParticipantWow Kobe really looks hurt out there.

paint intruderParticipantWill the Celtics be able to prevent Kobe from scoring, if it comes to a final rematch of them and the Lakers?
I don’t mean if they would stop him from dominating or even take him out of the game.
That wouldn’t really help, since the Lakers have other usefull weapons, such as Gasol und Bynum.
But maybe in the end that could be the little difference. My question is all about his scoring against them.
And who would they use to try to contain him?
Tony Allen? Pierce? Ray Allen?0 - AuthorPosts
