TheMOSTHATEDoneParticipantI love how Cavs drafted past year, i wouldnt image that Thompson could be so good so early.
I think they are going in the right direction building tru the draft.
Here are my scenarios:
Dream Scenario.
Harrison Barnes with 4
Terrence Ross falling to 24
Jared Sullinger falling on 33
Fab Melo on 34
Probable Scenerio
Barnes at 4
Nicholson at 24
Melo on 33
Jenkins at 34
Worst scenario (Cleveland staff goes awry)
Drummond at 4
Terrence Jones at 24
Ezely at 33
Plumlee at 34
Whom do you think they should draft??

B-ball fanParticipantI don’t think getting Terrence Jones at 24 and Festus Ezeli with the 33rd pick is a worst case scenario. You must be really pessimistic about Jones chances in the league if you think he is the worst realistic pick the Cavs could make at 24. And I am not a Terrence Jones fan.

jmarg25Participanti have them taking Barnes at 4, D Lamb at 24, Ezeli and Buford at 33,34.

MikezParticipantMy dream would be 4. Barnes/MKG, 24. D. Lamb, 33. Ezeli, 34. Wroten

sheltwon3ParticipantI doubt they keep all 4 picks. Also Melo is not going to fall to 33. I doubt Sullinger with his red flag falls to 33. Also in your worst case scenario they take 3 Centers. Now it would appear they are trading picks are player if that happens. That may not be that bad if they can move two bigs and get a vet or future first down the road.

KHAM83ParticipantI didn’t see any Cavs games, and I know he’s got potential but you got me with the “how good he is so fast.” How good is he? How good do you see him becoming? even though they took him high last year, is he good enough to “easily”pass on T-Rob if he falls to them? I rather Barnes or Beal, but if Barnes goes 2 and Beal 3, is it easily MKG to Cleveland or do the Cavs consider-Rob at all?

TheMOSTHATEDoneParticipantA young Amare, he could be a 20/10 someday while adding 2 blocks.
If Beal and Barnes are out they should consider MKG.

franfranParticipantPick 4 = Harrison Barnes (I think it’s a lock for a Cavs, many people hate him for his poor performance in the tournament, But he is very young, has a huge IQ and work ethic too, he will be too big for the cavs, the same level as Kyrie)
Pick 24 = Fab Melo (I think Serge Ibaka will be a 2.0 in the NBA, statistically speaking, But not now, needs to develop, 2 seasons?)
Pick 33 = William Buford (Perfect complement to Kyrie Irving, a very underrated player, has the potential to be a lottery pick, it would be a joy to see them play together)
Pick 34 = Evan Fournier (I think will be a great sixth man, play 1 or 2 more season in Europe)

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantYour ”dream scenario” is more like a miracle scenario

sheltwon3ParticipantThompson was a hell of a rebounder and got some blocked shots. I guess he could develop a offensive game in time but I would not give him 20 points a game just yet. Also the better Cavs get the less points will be available for a player that can not create his own shot.
I think he could be a 15 pt 11 rb 2 blks players but his low post game may never develop but his defense should be solid. He could become Ibaka like. I don’ t think that is too far for him but to say Amare is pushing it.
Cavs found some stud 2 guards and scoring is not a problem so if they take MKG and can grab some talent with the 24 pick regardless of position but likely a 2 or 4. They have a point guard and there are no Centers worth taking that late unless Melo is available. They can never have enough shooters and having a big guy to push Thompson could help Thompson reach his potential sooner than later.

sheltwon3ParticipantYou post was not dumb but it appears it was not well thought out because the scenarios you picked had to have a remote chance of happening because honestly a miracle draft would be if they could move the 24, 33 and Varejo for at top 10 pick and somehow get Drummonds.
Who knows Portland could take that deal. Not likely but Varejo is what they need now, Drummond may be better than Varejo but down the road. Wiz made a deal like so it is possible.
If Cavs could come out of this with Drummonds, MKG, and some late 2nd, they could be the next young team to explode on the scenes like OKC did in a few years. They would have almost a complete roster but would get less than 30 wins because of their youth and possible grab a talented shooting guard to complete their team or they could trade a future first for a starter at shooting guard now. They would have a young front court and a talent and somewhat veteran bk court. You add some other vets that have been in the league for a while for your bench and to push the youngster and there you go.
This would be the miracle situation that could happen.
Another young player make not make Portland any better too soon. They don’t have a good history of big men they draft. Chitown drafted Alridge and Portland wisely traded for him. Tyrus Thomas whom they drafted and traded is not doing so great.

KHAM83ParticipantBut a championship team needs post scoring, and that’s difficult to find in a center now ah days. Again, if Barnes and Beal are gone, would you scorn the Cavs for taking T-Rob? It comes down to what you think Thompson can become versus what Robinson can. I think Robinson is a great fit for Irving. Thompson can be great big off the bench if we assume all he’ll become is defensive and rebound specialist. It’ll bedifficult to find a center that meshes well with him if he never develops an offensive game. Matter of fact, I’m going to open a new thread for this argument. Please respond there.

CodySLCParticipantTerrence Ross at 24? (Lock for the lotto)
Sullinger at 33?
T.J. at 24?Your not a Cavs fan are you? (Sarcasm) No but seriously its nice to dream, but there’s no way these guys will fall that far.
