Assuming Derrick Williams gets taken first by cavaliers, who would they take with there other lottery pick? I like Brandon knight there cuz he has potential and he can score pretty well and has shown he can run a team. Am I way off base here?

Thats exactly how It would happen if they get the first pick, they will go pg on there 2nd lotto pick and unless they get the top 2 picks Irving will be off the board and Knight is the next best pg

I do like Knight to them although IMO if they land Derrick Williams+Kemba Walker they will produce wins much quicker, and right now I feel like winning back the fan base is priority #1. Kemba Walker flat out will sell tickets.

What if Brandon is already off the board? Kemba I think would be there next guy.

What about Alec Burks? If knight is gone with their 2nd lotto pick? A lot of people are high on him but I do not know enough about him.  Does anyone think Harrison Barnes is going to enter the draft? Because if he does the Cav’s could take him 1 and then get a PG like Knight, Burks, or Walker with their 2nd lotto pick..

This is how the Cavs roster stacks up going into next year:

    PG: Baron Davis/Ramon Sessions
    SG: Manny Harris/Daniel Gibson
    SF: Christian Eyenga/Joey Graham
    PF: Antawn Jamison/J.J Hickson/Luke Harnagody/Samardo Samuels
    C: Anderson Varejao/Semih Erden/Ryan Hollins

Just looking over that obviously every single position can be upgraded with talent but on paper SF and SG appear to be weakest. So if they do go with Derrick Williams or Enes Kanter with their first pick don’t be shocked to see them take a SG or SF with their 2nd pick. Personally like Terrence Jones for their 2nd pick although Burks, Perry, Kawhi, and Marcus Morris will all get consideration.

What if at the caves don’t even land the number 1 pick and get the 2 pick. They take Irving with that pick, then who with their 2nd lotto pick?

I actually it would be very smart if the Cavs picked Derrick Williams and Kemba Walker with their two pick. I already made a thread about this so if you want to read more find that thread that I posted. I’ll summarize my reasons though:

    • Williams because of his motor and attitude of always wanting prove the opposition wrong will really get at the heart of the Cleveland fans. I do think he will play SF in the NBA and I also thnk he will be a fan favorite in Ohio too.
    • Kemba because of what he went through last year with Uconn, how he has brought that team from the ground up and did it all in one year. He can do the same with the Cleveland franchise and help them get past Lebron’s "Decision"

No, I do not think Kemba will be gone by the 8th pick unless the Cavs have two picks in the top 5 or the Bobcats somehow wind up with a top 5 pick. All the teams with picks in the top 5 right now don’t really need or want Kemba. I posted my thoughts about this in the thread "Kemba going top 5?" Summarization:

    • Cleveland: Will not be the first pick of the draft
    • Minny: Believes that Rubio will come over so will avoid picking Irving or Kemba like the plague
    • Washington: Already has John Wall, why pick another Point?
    • Toronto: Already are developing a young PG in Bayless why impede his development?
    • Sacramento: Kemba needs the ball in order to be effective so he would not coexist well with Evans.

Kemba’s stock is gonna rise after this Championship game so taking him at #8 wouldn’t be shocking.

Look at Gordon Haywards stock after Butlers run, Kemba is a much better player IMO.

But if Knight is on the board it’s a toss up for me, both would have good veteran mentorship with Baron Davis being there.
