BasterdInABasketParticipantSo I know the mavs CAN still win this series just down 1-0 but I’ve been wondering how they realistically could. I really don’t see it happening. The heat have looked like the superior team in all 3 of their series so far and are 13-3 in the playoffs and haven’t lost at home. The heat definitely are the best team on paper and definitely looked like it in game one.
Dirk is the best player Miami has faced so far but who else on Dallas can you say is good for his 20 a night? Marion and Terry are close but nobody really against this defense.
I know there’s a lot of heat and lebron haters out there but do you honestly feel like Dallas can still win this series? I think it’ll take a few 40+ pt performances from dirk starting with tonight but that’s very unlikely against miami s length and help defense.0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/02/2011 - 11:05am #539145
apb540ParticipantNo team has a chance against Jordan, Magic, and Chris Webber. The Heat are too good.

BasterdInABasketParticipantAlso why doesnt Corey Brewer play anymore? When their second unit come in JJ Barea, Peja and Terry are all liabilites on defense. Their first unit has 4 defensive minded guys but I feel like Brewer could help out against Wade and Lebron.

Memphis MadnessParticipantYeah, they can win if they win tonight and 2 out of 3 in Dallas. If they go back to Miami up 3-2 then I think they can win a game. But, if they come back to Miami down 3-2 then I don’t think they have a chance. I can see Miami winning a game in Dallas so it is very imporant for the Mavs to get the split (1-1) going back to Dallas.
The Mavs don’t have the weapons to come back from an 0-2 deficit. The Mavs have Dirk but the Heat have LeBron and Wade who are two of the top three players in the league with Dirk being the other one. Plus, Chris Bosh is the best low post player this post season not named Z Bo. The Heat also have an underrated bench who outscored the Mavs bench by 10. Chalmers had a great game in game 1. Chalmers, Miller, Haslem, and James Jones can all get hot. Haslem is always steady and if the Heat can get one big game each out of Miller, James Jones, and Chalmers then the Heat win this series. I also really liked Joel Anthony’s defense on Dirk. He really slowed Dirk down. I am not even counting on Mike Bibby doing anything. He went 0-4 in game 1 and they still win by 10 even though the Mavs held the Big Three to 65 points (I thought that a key for the Mavs was to hold the Big Three to 65-70 points. But another key was for the Mavs to really outscore the Heat’s bench. Well, the Heat bench outscored the Mav’s bench by 10. The Heat ended up winning the game by 8.)

the I in winParticipantMike Bibby will come around, he will have a few big quarters before the series is over. Bibby can’t give you a good game anymore but a good quarter is doable.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Mavs still have a chance to win, it’s only a 0-1 deficit. Tyson Chandler won’t have 4 rebound games very often and Terry, Peja, and Kidd won’t miss wide open Js very often either.
I still say it’s Heat in 5 though.
