Question for everyone since its the offseason:

It appears Bradley Beal has decided to take a wait and see approach with the Wizards, due to so many bad decisions being made in the past by the front office.

If you were one of two people what would you do:You can take either angle Gm or Player or both if you want.

If you were Bradley Beal would you:

    a) Take the money and hope somehow this front office sorts the mess out in time to not waste your prime

    or

    b) Move on to your choice of team(as long as they have cap room you need/want) as you have given them a reasonable amount of your career? If so what team could peope see him on.

If you were the Front office what would you do?

    Would you:

    a) Cash in now while he has trade value is still under a reasonable deal(I think he still has 2 years left)

    or

    b) Try hope you can clean things up with Rui+Beal leading the charge and hopefully be able to attract some other reasonable level talent back.

The Wizards are an absolute dumpster fire.  Wall probably will never be the same player again after his torn achilles and is on the books for a ton of money.  Beal is the only asset the Wizards have.  If I was him, I would not commit to the Wizards.  The front office is so bad that I wouldn’t trust them with any good decisions.  In my opinion, the Wizards need to blow everything up and start from scratch.  They are terrible and not winning anytime soon.

The Wizards are in a terrible spot with so much money committed to John Wall and the likelihood that he’ll never live up to the deal. The team is just lacking in talent and they managed to deal two of their better players last season in Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre. On top of that they let all or nearly all the players they got for those two leave via free agency. I understand Beal may want to be loyal to the franchise, but the franchise has thoroughly let him down. Unless they can manage a smart deal this season that brings in considerable talent without sacrificing too much, then Beal should leave. If he stays he’ll only waste years of his career on a team with next to no shot at winning any big games.

If I’m Bradley I’ll play it out.can’t he get more money if he makes All-NBA this year? He’s betting on himself…And the Wizards are going to suck for a while even if he stays.

If I’m the Wizards I trade his azz for assets…now. You wait till the all-star break and you’ll get weaker offers cuz teams will know you’re desperate.

Bradley would likely wait for FA unless he got a super max type offer if or when he qualifies for one. He still has two years on his deal, other players like to explore FA and he can get a bigger deal then unless he gets a supermax.

He has only just turned 26 and has two years on his deal so there is no rush on either side. The compromise might be to add an extra year to then take him to FA as a 10 year pro where he could get a max deal.

If I would Beal I would wait it out. There is new management in place which might turn out to be better than whats there but I’d still be skeptical when its possible in a few years while still in my prime to move to a team thats more of a known commodity. Beal has earned that and he knows it. Its going to take two years at least for this team to show any progress if managed right so he does have time. This offseason should be a big litmus test as it seems like a handful of teams will have cap space again but the free agency market seems pretty garbage. We’ll get a good glimpse of how compenent the new front office is then.

If I was the Wizards I would try to move him as soon as possible for younger assets to keep or to help flip and get rid of Walls contract. I love John Wall but even I’ll admit his contract is a struggle especially after that injury. It’s time for a rebuild I think that duo reached their ceiling already and it will be really hard to bring a second star on board with Beal having Walls big contract sitting there and not much in the way of assets. I doubt the team could reload on assets before Beals contract is up so I’d use him as the catalsyt to help him launch the rebuild. I’d rather not become the Hornets. The only thing that makes me skeptical about a tanking rebuild move for this team is how this years lottery shook out but one year very small sample size. Time to pull a Nets/Knicks approach, draft smart and try to rehab former high draft picks on one year deals to see if they can become assets. No wasteful veteran contracts or falling for a garbage market by giving players like Otto Porter a max deal.

Wizards need to do with Beal what Pelicans did with Davis – trade him for assets

Need to change their name back to the bullets. DC and wizards is not a good combo. implies political fraud and magic from societies capital. It’s a negative motif. That’s atrocious branding in my opnion.  Whitman was a let down and Comitting to John wall was arguably not worth the investment, imo. This team was well off during the arenas, Hughes, Jamison days tho.

I wouldn’t trade Beal. By himself he makes you a playoff contender in a well run organization.

You should have titled this “Beal or No Deal.”

    @scrooge

idk why im responding to you, since its so obvious youre clueless. Ive lived here for 30 years and never have i heard the Wizards name be compared to whatever you just said. Do we want it changed back to the “bullets”? Yes. But not for the reasons you gave, not even close.

We were well off in the Arenas days? That lasted what, 2 maybe 3 years? They couldnt even get out of the first round or past Lebron, ever.

And how does Bradley Beal make you a playoff contender by himself, if all we had was him last year and were one of the worst teams?

    Blow it up

Beal makes any team with good management a playoff contender (not the wizards).

I’m curious about the history. The bullets theme comes from the US military being headquartered in DC? why did they change the name? Because they’re anti second amendment. The military is OK! It’s OK to have a team named the bullets lmao politically correct cucks.

Nearly every contender has completed their roster so competive landing spaces for Beal are limited. Teams with assets like the Thunder aren’t likely to go for him. Could someone like the Knicks make a move when all the PFs they have signed become eligible to trade. They have the picks from Dallas and their own picks and could send Washington a good package.
